Did exactly as you demonstrated. Went for a ride and didn’t see it flashing even with quick braking and acceleration. Looks like this fix is for real. Thank you very much.
I didn’t even think of this being the problem. Sure enough. I did what you recommended an voila! Intermittent flashing ABS is gone! I knew you were onto something the moment you said it had to do with the rear brake. It clicked in my head that the intermittent flashing abs happens after I’ve used rear brake. Thank you!
hi been bashing my head against a brick wall on my honda deauville (nt700 accross the pond), typically this went off when i went to sell the thing. Ive so far changed sensors, cleaned all connections, new battery and i was ready to take a real big bath on the price. Thankyou so much i realised only a few months ago i noticed the brake was slow to return so this must be the fault. Big thumbs up from the uk!!
I’ve had this exact issue on the FJR intermittently over the last year. Called the dealer and they said to clean the sensor itself. Will try this since it still happens from time to time.
Thank you so much. This problem has been persisting on my CRF 250 Rally for over a month. Never thought to go look there for the culprit. The switch mounting bracket got bent somehow, causing the switch to stick. Quick fix once identified.
A rag blew up into my sprocket and got caught between the calipers on the rear. Pull out the rag after riding it 5 miles without know. Sprayed the sprocket and area with contact cleaner. My abs light is flashing on my 2020 honda nc750x dct.
I have a question. 2012 FJR. Rear brake went soft no braking action. It spent 4 days at the dealer with no joy. First they said it was the rear master cylinder, changed it, no joy. ABS light not showing anything and no codes. They bleed the system to the front caliper and did the jumper to cycle the ABS pump....no joy. When bleeding the rear it goes hard then in a few minutes it goes soft again with no braking action Any ideas or help would be appreciated The bike has 31000 km on it. I have owned the bike for 4 years but never had to brake wher the abs system functioned
mine doesnt blind it stays on!! ive checked the connector, the wires themselves, the housing where it goes into the caliper, tires size and pressure are up to spec, the brake pads still have a lot more life to give, put in a new abs mini fuse, topped off both reservoirs, and she still doesnt spit out an abs code if any. some say it may be the abs pump and check the electrical power to it, also ill like to know IF its possible to get any color other than an amber light on an abs indicator like cars do?
Hi, thanks for the video. On my FJR 1300 MY 2016 I have the same problem and it's something that's driving me crazy. I will try to do as indicated in the useful video, thanks. Too bad none of the YAMAHA mechanics I asked thought it was that simple; however, very good at selling you a new front ABS sensor and phonic wheel....
Another distinct possibility: That brake-light switch may be mis-adjusted, causing the brake light to stay on, (or off?) This video is helpful; last night my ABS light came on.. now is off. Recently I'd been futzing with that brake switch on my FJR, so I'm headed out right now and inspect it!
Hey, does the ABS light always stay on? I just got zx10 not too long ago, and when I turn the bike on, the light is one, but once I start moving, the light turns off. Today I was messing with controls like the power mode, traction, etc. I know this 2020 model doesn't have off-and-on ABS. Any suggestions? Thank you!
its normal, if u just start the bike or u going with slowly speed under 10km/h the light is one, but more than that it goes off, it means u abs system is working well, if u want to disable the abs just take off the sensor connector
Yep, completely normal. Newer bikes sense for wheel spin at startup and will keep the light on until they go through the system check (which can't be completed without some amount of wheel spin and pressure from the pedal/lever) 1 to tell you the light is functioning, two to tell you the system passed the test and is then functioning. Older bikes that have ABS may only turn the light on or blink the light if a problem is detected during riding, assuming that the system is functioning and only checking for faults as you go down the road. So the light is always off unless there's a problem.
Hello, I own a Triumph street twin 2017, sometimes the tc error led of the motorcycle gives a warning and the throttle does not work, after stopping the vehicle for a while and waiting, the problem disappears and then the problem is repeated again. The authorized service in my country is very bad, so I could not find a solution to my problem and I am trying to get help from people who can give an idea for a solution.
I dropped my fz 09 (2017) While taking it off the rear stand. Can you made a video showing where the abs rear speed sensor is connected to? I ordered a new one
Bro I'm having gixxer sf 250 and it's showing F1 error on meter & abs light, engine light always turned on & speed always showing zero while running, fuel always showing full tanm & kilometres not reading... what could be possible problem? Service centre guys in my area are giving me headache they couldn't find the issue .🥲
Blinking means a fault is detected but the system is still functioning. If the ABS light is ON that means your ABS system is OFF. Check your fuse, first thing. If that's clear check your sensors and their wires, make sure they're clean. Then check your rotor to make sure it isn't gunked up or damaged. I'd then check to make sure my brake light is functioning as intended, make sure both the pedal and lever activate the sensor independently and that they both retract and don't stick (like the video). I'd also attempt to have the brake fluid flushed with new fluid, and make sure the system is free of air.
My issue is that my ABS light stays on I don’t remember it staying on when i first got the bike is that normal ? A mechanic said it’s supposed to be on at all times.
@@Rivexd yeah the dealer said the same thing they are going to fix it the me mechanic didn’t know what he was saying I didn’t think an ABS light was supposed to stay on at all times.
hello how are you, I changed my rear brakes on my yamaha fjr mod 07 and they were very tight on the disc, when the motorcycle was turned on the abs light came on, I guess it was turned on by the adjustment of the brakes on the disc, I lowered them Until the tire turned freely, I want to think that that was the reason why the light of the abs system was turned on, could be?
Open dash and u soldering light bulb.... Abs on my motorbike make me crash extended my brake length and uncontrolled slide my rear wheel. For my opinion is mostly stupidly invention on motorbike. All motocross rider know how to ride on controlling slide rear wheels.

Hey Mate, the information on this video also works on Royal Enfield Interceptors! Thanks.
What happened to your interceptor, mate?
thnx for the tip!
will check it later on my FJR.
No problem 👍

Honda ABS lights must blink at startup, it is because you are stopped. The ABS is constantly scanning for a spinning wheel. When you move it goes out.

In my case, the abs light is on and the wheel locks during hard brake. Any solution for that?

What if its a front abs sensor like my vespa primavera its working on and off. Needle is bouncing even the engine is not running just keys in. :(
are you the cigar guy? I've seen you in RUclips 😁

My ABS light comes on after a few minutes of riding, going over a bump or something. Did you have the same issue?
No but that's usually a loose sensor or wire issue
@@TwoWheelObsession Odd, i tried to wiggle both sensors on the front and back and they are screwed in tight...

Off the topic, what's your tire pressure set at in the FZ-09?
I run 40/42 on these stock tires
TwoWheelObsession give me 45$ please
Thank you
How can you turn the ABS off ?
I DON'T THINK AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT CLEANER IS APPROPRIATE TO USE IN CLEANING A STICKING BRAKE LEVER. I WOULD PREFER WD-40.
Great video thanks
Subbed! Will be vlogging from Fla permanently Sept/Oct Rsmf...
