@@donnadoriggins5236 I was primarily on Andromeda, where I worked on all seasons, but when I heard that our studio was also doing Stargate work, I asked to get on. For SG1 I was doing zat blasts. For Atlantis I went on set a few times. Didn't meet Momoa. Only Flanigan and Hewlett. I did forcefield effects in the episode, where McKay wears an alien invulnerability amulet. Never talked to Richard Dean Anderson. Only walked by him once during a smoke break at Bridge Studios. Lots of things were being shot there. While Stargate was happening, other shows were coming and going. Slither, X-Men, some Uwe Boll films, and Wicker Man, where I worked as a Previs TD. "Not The Bees" movie. For that I apologize to anyone who had to endure it.
@@enilenis That episode of Atlantis where Rodney gets the invulnerability amulet is one of the most memorable of the whole series. I grew up watching these and they are awesome, thank you !
My favorite line about Sheppard is when he is tracking enemies and someone looking at a life signs indicator asks... how do we know which dot is Sheppard? Ford replies...He will be the dot making all the other dots disappear. I absolutely love that line for some reason.
I love them all!! Best line though is, when John is chatting with a Wraith prisoner. The Wraith says he is going to be feeding off him when he breaks out, so John replies with something along the lines of "okee dokee, I'd better go get a sandwich!!". Nearly wet my pants!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha, cheers Ausgranny 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤶👍👍👍👍👍❤
I hate number 2 episode and I hate the writers for it and I hate you for choosing that episode number 2 😭 That episode made me cry so much 😭 John was already alone before he made it to the Atlantis crew. He lost his friend and blamed for disobeying orders as he tried to save him. Losts his friends and already an outcast in our universe. Jack saw him as younger version of himself and gave the opportunity to be belong somewhere again. He was young and lots to live for anyway. He maybe saw himself as a father figure to John. When everyone tries to push him away he cared for him and gave him a new life so to speak. All the way in the Pegasus of course 😅 so he doesn't and didn't deserve to die alone in the dirt 🥺 M'Kay?!!
"Vegas" was easily my number 1 episode. It showed a whole new direction the show could have gone in an story lines that wouldn't be encumbered by the main line. Pity the show didn't continue after that season.
Hey I have a question in case you do another Q & A episode. In SG: Continuum, after Ba'al went back in time to 1939, why did he wait until 2008 to come back and attack Earth? Wouldn't it be much safer and easier to conquer us when all we had was WWII technology?
I love this episode and initially had it on my list, TBH. But the more I thought about it I realized that all the interesting flashbacks were entirely without John. So as cool as the future stuff is I'm not sure I would call this one a Sheppard episode.
Colyaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Hahaha, hated him, but he always had 'justified'/respectable limits. He was not just a dumb sadist, but a smart strategic antagonist. So really Sheppard's perfect match. And who can resist yelling, Colyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
After reading through the comment section a bit I'm realizing that my opinion is an unpopular one. I really didn't enjoy 'Vegas' much, when it aired it felt like a filler episode to me, and even now it makes me feel like it's a weird attempt at quickly closing out a series. I admit that the music was pretty epic throughout, and I highly enjoyed listening to it, and poet Todd was hillarious, but other than that it felt rather meh to me... the story felt a bit 'been there, done that'. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it at all, it just wouldn't take up a top 5 spot for me. Although my bias might come from the fact that I enjoy Atlantis as a base of operations, and prefer exploring other worlds, so maybe just the thought of this all taking place on an alternate Earth with people doing regular jobs just was a bit of a turn off for me. Then again, I did enjoy 'Outcast' even though it also took place on Earth. It showed more of a character we knew and loved, and we got to learn more about him. So maybe it's just the fact that it's an alternate timeline then. Or a combination of those two things. We followed a story of a man named Sheppard who wasn't our Sheppard, and who eventually just dies... really te only important thing about the episode was that there was a signal sent out across universes, but it took an entire episode to get to that one 'omg no' moment. I know I'm overly critical, and it's all just personal opinion. You're free to tell me how wrong I am, or even explain to me why this episode is a gem. I'd like to understand and maybe see it in a different light.
Vegas is so damn good, I'd put it as the one best episode of a stargates series just for how totally off kilter it is and the very different view we get of some characters.
I disliked that episode but only because it didn't feel like Stargate. It was also one of the final episodes and I feel the main story didn't get enough time anyway. That's why I was always frustrated with it. But now that you say that maybe I'll go watch it properly again.
I don't know the name of episodes, but the very first episode when we are introduced to Shepard is my fave. It really has everything. I want to make a shout-out to Elizabeth. I feel that her character was great. At first she annoyed me and seemed weak, but as I have re-watched SGA, I like her more and more. Her character got the short end of the stick IMO , she gave everything and all she got was to be stuck out in space for eternity. She was abandoned for a trivial reason. They could have done more for and with her, she was the best leader of all who came after, even Carter who always seemed a little out of place in Atlantis.
I've always liked Johnny Cash, but it was the camera panning up from Other Shepard as he was dying and "Solitary Man" was playing, and it was as if Johnny Cash had written it for that specific scene, that drove me to (as soon as the episode was over) go to Amazon and buy a bunch of Cash CDs. Other Shepard was bitter and generally unpleasant because his life had a few more left turns, but at the core was Our Shepard who did his duty regardless of whether other people did theirs.
i don't recall the specific chapters. however theres a few interinsting episodes wich deserve be mentioned. the time when sheppard kills goya. the first time that he be able to control the chair of the ancient city. when he scape from the city of rreplicants and shou!! ELIZABETH!! evertytime that he said. RODNEYYYYYYYY! .. refering to doctor mckay. sorry for the misspelling. obviusly i can't hande the lenguage. greetings from somewhere in mexico :)
I watched Stargate since it started airing, but Sheppard still became my favourite character across all the shows. He was such an interesting combination of laid-back and intense.
I like how John gives polite orders, for example, he tells pregnant Teyla not to come on missions, and he tells the female team to wait inside in Whispers. I also like it when episodes show how good a thinker he is, like Quarantine.
Agree with your "Common Ground" pick as number 1...amazing acting. Might add Season 5's "The Prodigal" where he finally gets to put Michael down:+) God bless~
Your Top 2 pics are indeed mine as well. Bring back Todd!! If there's ever a SGA reboot, then Todd will have to be part of it. He did arrive to Earth aboard star ship Atlantis after all.
All good! But I really also liked the "Home" episode, when John (first of them all?) realizes it's the "virtual" world is just made up by his brain. Ah this one scene! ruclips.net/video/pAQoBqZwO5w/видео.html You could sort of tell from the beginning something did not sit well with John (he looked troubled) but you never knew exactly what...

Knowing him personally I'd say, quite the contrary, there was no one on SGA who wanted it to continue more than Joe Flanigan. He loved being a sci-fi action hero. He loved headlining his own show. After Atlantis was canceled he even assembled investors and tried to convince MGM to let him make his own season!
@@GateWorldDotNet Wish he had been able to. I'm just now getting into the show, and kicking myself for not getting into it sooner. Worked on original Stargate and season 1 of Atlantis. Too bad the show didn't stick around. Those were the golden days of made for TV sci-fi.
