Nice trailer, good things take time. There's a video of a dual pump conversion tested on a PJ trailer giving it a faster dump cycle, but it's a twin ram set up.
First time I took my 14’ 14K dump trailer to get gravel I ended up getting 10 ton when it was rated 5 ton. I didn’t realize what 5 ton looked like so I kept telling the loader driver keep going 😂. Truck and trailer handled the load just fine but when it came dumping it was a different story. Telescopic cylinders are awesome but not with twice the rated capacity.
That’s one cool dump wagon Sam. I own a gooseneck dump trailer made by Carson trailers but that one by Diamond C is my dream dump to have to be able to haul the bigger/heavier equipment too
With lippert self adjust brakes to adjust them squeeze and release your brake controller while driving forward several times will get them adjust right up for you.
I have a Load Trail, deckover style dump trailer and I think you may have been happier with it. The bed is wider, same capacity as your trailer and just by watching your videos I can tell you the Load Trail cycles much quicker. None the less, very nice trailer!
Dump trailers are one of the coolest trailers out there, in my opinion. Your truck can be a equipment hauler, dump truck, log truck, ect. Nice trailer, Sam!
I wish I could kiss the guy on the lips who made them tbh… I own a outdoor maintenance company in boston but we do Aton of concrete these things Haul equipment, materials, can put the sides on for leaf cleanup, move snow
The funny thing is cameras never do justice for quality and I've bought several brand new trailers over the years but the coating on that diamond C looks like a paint job on a pickup almost beautiful trailer man
Hey Sam, love the new trailer. I am looking at the same one 18ft with the telescoping cylinder. I added another battery in parallel on my 16ft dump and it dumps a lot faster also. Thanks for the videos
Smashed the thumbs up button, as always. Been running dumpers since my first(2002 EZ Dumper). Best thing I ever did Sam is run two welding cables from the dual truck batt's, under and along the pickup frame(zip tied, etc), to a Anderson style quick connector mounted just underneath the rear bumper. Then added about 6 or so feet to the battery in the trailer with a matching Anderson style connector. Now you've got 3 batteries worth of amp's. Never, ever had a problem again. Unlimited dumps throughout the day at full power. Which really saves the pump motor from low voltage and overheating the windings. Also, I kept a farm jack mounted to the triler so when I was too heavy to dump I would put the farm jack just under the front of the bed and begin jacking as I hit the lift button. Believe it or not it would lift everytime within about 4" or so then take off. Saved me from shoveling. Bought all new stuff this year, 2021 Ram 3500SRW, H.O. Cummins, Aisen, Laramie, and just got a 2021 Iron Bull,16", 14K, Deckover gooseneck. Awesome content as always.
To hell with battery pumps on dumps ! I ran remotes from the hydraulics on my truck to the rear and put quick couplers that the dump trailer plugs into. No more dead batteries and more power to lift the loads (no more shoveling) and the best part is being able to run the trailer whilst sitting in the A/C !!!!
Very very cool trailer!! I always bought a high quality electric jack for my camping trailers!! Other folks would be sweating their "trailer balls" off unhooking, while I had a beer in one hand!! LOL They ran $4-5 hundred in the day, but so well worth it!! All my cargo, and flat beds have them now!! 8) JMHO --gary
Sweet trailer. I have a 7x16x2 Lamar GN and i have had too much weight too far forward more than once without equipment to make that adjustment by moving material. You only do that so many times! GN trailers tow so much better!
Thats a monster. My 3500 and bumper pull is 12,600. My next one will be a gooseneck for sure. Ive had mine loaded to about 32,000 gross once and it did it fine but I was nervous the whole time. I’m not a big fan of the scissor hoist but other wise an awesome looking trailer.
Usually if it will lift it a few inches, it will dump it. So you can try to lifting it just a few inches before leaving were you are loaded to be "more" sure it will dump it at the destination (assuming you can get it adjusted where you are loading).... Of coarse that assumes you won't be dumping it uphill (anymore than where you were loaded)...... Nice trailer & video, have a good one!
I remember one time i was tasked with renting a truck with a dumb bed. Was an isuzu 5 ton with a box dump bed. I just need two yards of 5/8th minus, they gave me three. Was scary as shit driving that overloaded truck through the streets of seattle.
I run a 20ft diamond C dump 20K. scissor lift as well and if they get it over loaded and a little forward the lift struggles. We haul a lot of logs and brush with ours and has been a huge asset to my business.
I’m looking at getting a 16 foot LPD with the 3 foot sides 18k gvwr. Hauling logs mostly. Was worried about the scissor lift not being able to lift it loaded full. Do you think I will be fine?
One mod you might want to make is cut the d rings off the bottom in the rear and move them up to the bottom of the sides. On the floor they seem to catch everything when you dump especially if you are hauling logs or something. Drove me nuts for a couple years till i finally did it to mine and haven't looked back. I just got a few weld on and welded them to a small piece of plate to reinforce it. Might no need to on yours since those sidewalls are a little thicker. Other than that nice trailer. Im still not sold on the scissor lift tho. Ive accidently grossly over loaded mine which is a double ram set up and it still will lift it no sweat.
I have a 2020 PJ that’s a 16’ but otherwise same exact trailer. I believe mine comes in at about 6,750 on weight empty. Same thing on loading, keep it to the back. Was running the shocker hitch and seemed to help but moved it to my tilt deck. Keep up the good work and congrats on the new addition.
@@maximumwoof8662 no diamond c available at the time. Seems to be the same problem still. Would love to have one. Especially with all the issues I had with a brand new trailer.
I like you still got the OG truck there in the back and looks like you still work it. Also the only time you need volume in a dump trailer is with light material like wood or hauling machine. My dump truck has a 8x11 bed with 2' sides and I can't get enough mulch in it to overload it but less than half the bed with rock and she's squating.
My advice is put a 15k winch up front and top so you can winch up heavy loads to a point where leverage is on the dump side so you can dump about any weight without worry and helps lift cylinder and theres a 30watt or 50watt solar battery tender that works better then the small 10watt and go agm or lithium battery....
Run single 0 from the truck battery to the trailer. My 14k pj dump wouldn’t dump 6 ton ran the wire and It dumped it with ease, when it was loaded legal it would raise crazy fast. Worked with a guy that ran long ass jumper cables from his truck to trailer the pumps really appreciate the extra amps.
Great video man, I did subscribe just so you know lol. That is one sick trailer you have. I bet you were just giddy with excitement about it lol I know I would be.
Sam, have you wired the trailer connector so the truck charges the dump trailer battery? Should be done on all of your powered trailers. Back in the 70's, I used to drive an International Loadstar 1800 with 345 gas and would regularly haul 16,000lbs and occasionally 18,000 lbs. Trucks and trailers like yours didn't exist back then. Interesting how equipment has changed. Good luck with the new trailer!
Great video. Very nice trailer. Looks like it will handle what ever you can throw at it. I see v-belt still has that wood splitting conveyor system that you guys had so much trouble with. Did you guys have to do any repairs to get it working properly?
I wonder if one could plum in a second electric pump to speed the lift or if a Pto pump off truck or a gas powered pump would be better nice trailer though for sure
Nice trailer! I tried to buy one but couldn't afford it, LOL Went with a PJ DE model 22k, 7'x16'x3', tare weight is 7300 lbs. You will use it for everything. They are my go too trailer. I also have a Lamar 18k, 7'x16'x3', tare weight is 6500 lbs. Are your sides 32"? Make some side boards for light bulky loads, such as chips and mulch. I wish the industry would come up with a faster dump system, they are all slow.
put a good charge controller on your solar cell to the lift battery. Then your lift pump will run cooler with a little higher voltage plus could solve your forward 18k lift problem.
I bought a 16ft gooseneck PJ. I had 8 tons in it. It didn't pickup either. And my battery as well was dead. They just didn't charge it. My magic number is 7 tons. All day.
if you have 2 batteries in your dump bed it could help the hydraulic pump lift the load . if it has 2 batteries from the factory add 1 more . you might see a difference with the load in the proper place.
I totally understand and Agree, if you Can't repair or maintain your Equipment yourself possibly you don't belong in business 😉. I had my own Backhoes business, had several pieces of Equipment, but I maintain and repair 95 % of it.

have a similar trailer just a little smaller, if it gets plugged in at night i get like 3 dumps max before i gotta hook a jump box up to the battery for it to dump
Nice trailer! I just bought a Texas Pride Gooseneck 7x18 20k dual ram and got it delivered a few weeks ago and that's what I did first thing. Pulled into my gravel pit and I threw in 9.3 ton of class 5. Dumped it no problem but I loaded it more over the axles. Gonna use it for hauling in rip-rap outta the farmers fields and logs for my sawmill. Was very unimpressed by the fact they talked me into a spreader gate, which sounds like a great feature to have, then sell the trailer with a cord that doesn't reach the drivers window. I asked them if I'm spose to hire someone to walk along side to help dump it ffs...guy had the nerve to tell me I was the 1st person to ever bitch about it and I said ya right lol. Seems like it lacks some welding also but we shall see how it holds up. I did go with heavier gauge steel and 12" centers. Gonna look at the Circle C in the spring for a Gooseneck flatbed trailer. Thanks for your videos ! Keep-em coming !!
A wireless winch remote works for dump trailers for a lot cheaper than a dump remote, because the ol lady got tired of riding in the bed of the truck with the remote 🤣🤣🤣
Can move thousands of lbs more per trip with a flatbed (like you said) as long as you have equipment on other end... I'll run straps in two log pile layers, hook straps on forks, pick up pile & then dump front of straps off forks & leave straps on back of forks & pull straps out from under pile.. Never have to get off lift to unload..
It seems slow but you're moving alot of product so maybe its an even trade off. Besides, you need a minute to drink a Mt. Dew. Now that the battery is up to snuff, maybe give us another view of it dumping a full load of mix or gravel. Best of luck with it.
Hey Sam.....shes a beauty. Curious tho....where the wireless remote? Also why not hydraulic discs? I'm thinking of switching to a C from my current setup but I'm not into the chains that hold the barn doors open. My current has a spring latch and it works sweet. Wonder if that's an option on the diamonds.
Not what you can haul, it's what you can dump :) You could have fired the front hydraulic jacks to lift the trailer up a bit of an angle to give the main scissor a bit more of a chance. It's to bad those landing jacks couldn't go up higher as those two are probably 12k jacks, more than the scissor! . Just de couple from the goooseneck and lift the thing up as high as it will go and then fire the scissor. You are a brave man dumping near that power pole, be wary of a "Flash Over" effect where if you get to close to a high power power line the power will jump to your elevated deck and fry everything in the vicinity.
Okay, ... I subscribed (i subscribe to No One). I watched for the super singles. Would've liked to see the axles.. Nice video. I lol'd when the mulcher came down hard, felt that one. Also thought you needed the stabilizers down a little bit more, but seemed to work out👌. Happy you went scissor,... keeping it in the USA 👍. I'd FULLY charge that battery the second it arrived. They sulfate from new, not good. Also, pet theory of mine, but honestly, i would dump that thing a third way up and down multiple times with just low weight in it to smooth and break in all the bearing surfaces in the rear hinges and those in the lift. Then regrease. Consider it as a break in for making it go up. Just a suggestion. As usual, super informative video thanks ☮️ ~
I love your channel dude, I like the content you post and I'm pretty quick to watch your videos same or next day they come out; If I could make a suggestion- a wireless microphone connected to whatever you're recording with would greatly improve the audio. It bounces around quite a bit. That's a sick trailer 🤘
Finally subscribed, I've watched several. I've been looking at diamond c trailers a lot lately, they have a lot of features they offer that stands out over other manufacturers, my question to you is do you think the scissor lift is better than the telescoping?
Hook the trailer battery up to your truck, 4 gauge wire, anderson connector. And dump the trailer while the truck is running, trailer charges while driving and is topped off by the time you unload, and 14.5 volts makes a big differnce while unloading. Also when you have to buy new batteries buy the biggest most ridiculously expensive battery you can find, you wont regret it
Nice Rig…!!! Pretty well exactly what I had planned on purchasing, when starting up my Land Clearing/Road Maintenance/Acreage Mowing business - But, that would have required purchasing another Heavier Duty truck - So, went for a high quality 25’ gooseneck instead… Eventually, will Have To get a dump trailer, to cut cost/time, when needing rock hauled in… I’d seriously consider adding a 2nd battery, depending on what the amp draw for the hydraulic pump is - Could be the easiest/fastest fix…
Is it a prototytpe? They don't have a 25k SS dump on the website? Ive been wanting them to upgrade the axles on their dumps, so it doesn't take 3 axles to make 24k. I've even emailed about the idea. Test pilot i'm thinkn... :)

Looking at this trailer for the excavator. Do you have a link to a vid where you hauled the mini ex?
That setup is Sexy !!! That trailers bad a$$ !!!
You need to build a header board to keep the weight off the front 5 feet of trailer
I like it.
Electric motor operated landing gears? Sweet!
Hydraulic :)
@@VBELTandSON I'm used to crank them by hand...
I love your channel dude, I like the content you post and I'm pretty quick to watch your videos same or next day they come out;
If I could make a suggestion- a wireless microphone connected to whatever you're recording with would greatly improve the audio. It bounces around quite a bit.
That's a sick trailer 🤘
I had a accident pulling a trailer since then I learned that you should pull a trailer with the right truck and the right weight.
Always a good idea
If I can afford a 2x7k axle 16ft Dump trailer should I go bumper or gooseneck. I'm watching video with no sound so not sure if you cover that.
I try to tell the loader operator always load to the back and then to the front of the trailor.
My 16 foot Walton won’t dump a heavy load have had to scrape it out more than once with the tractor bucket
Finally subscribed, I've watched several. I've been looking at diamond c trailers a lot lately, they have a lot of features they offer that stands out over other manufacturers, my question to you is do you think the scissor lift is better than the telescoping?
cant lift shat
New trailer... more vids? Nice!!!
Hook the trailer battery up to your truck, 4 gauge wire, anderson connector. And dump the trailer while the truck is running, trailer charges while driving and is topped off by the time you unload, and 14.5 volts makes a big differnce while unloading. Also when you have to buy new batteries buy the biggest most ridiculously expensive battery you can find, you wont regret it
Cottontop 3 has an orange one
Nice Rig…!!! Pretty well exactly what I had planned on purchasing, when starting up my Land Clearing/Road Maintenance/Acreage Mowing business - But, that would have required purchasing another Heavier Duty truck - So, went for a high quality 25’ gooseneck instead… Eventually, will Have To get a dump trailer, to cut cost/time, when needing rock hauled in… I’d seriously consider adding a 2nd battery, depending on what the amp draw for the hydraulic pump is - Could be the easiest/fastest fix…
Badass trailer Sam, I might need somethin like it in my life!
what solar panel do you use on your trailers?
Is it a prototytpe? They don't have a 25k SS dump on the website? Ive been wanting them to upgrade the axles on their dumps, so it doesn't take 3 axles to make 24k. I've even emailed about the idea. Test pilot i'm thinkn... :)
Yeah, I think that’s the reason why I’m gonna go with her single piston at the very front
They didn’t option the single for a long box like mine
woulda helped out a TON - (no PUN intended).... LOLOLOL
