I am 70 and now retired, but trained as textile designer and still love clothes and beautiful fabrics. I am probably more adventure than other ladies I know around my own age, but would be even more so, if lived in a city! I'm 73 and buy and wear oversized, layers - I love it. I started doing it in my twenties in the 70s when I'd wear oversized men's shirts. When I shop, I don't look for size as much as for color and fabric and shape. I agree, stay healthy and fit and where what we want. I've always been thin and was a dancer, so in good shape. As an italian woman from Milano, it makes me sad to see the lip filler and pillow-fillers in her face. It's just that I thought we were beyond this "chasing youth"-- The impression is of a much younger woman from 2 kilometers away. People wearing expensive clothes sometimes don't know how to wear them or style them properly. I look at people wearing expensive clothing and then try to duplicate the look or the sense of the look, or the colours used with what I already have in my closet or that I could thrift and I always have people complimenting my look. By the way I am in my seventies. I always believe any look is ruined by rundown dowdy shoes and handbags. Perhaps put a bit more money into those items. We used to say of an older woman trying too hard to look young, “Mutton dressed as lamb.” Her style is truly fabulous but I’ve noticed in Italy that facelifts and fillers are wildly overdone. Also, just to be extra critical…that California beach wave hair is just silly in women my (her) age. Take a page out of Helen Mirren’s book. I am 70 and now retired, but trained as textile designer and still love clothes and beautiful fabrics. I am probably more adventure than other ladies I know around my own age, but would be even more so, if lived in a city! Living deep in the countryside you need a lot of practical clothing and shoes, as well as a hood most of the year, which is not so flattering - but I do try!

I'm 73 and buy and wear oversized, layers - I love it. I started doing it in my twenties in the 70s when I'd wear oversized men's shirts. When I shop, I don't look for size as much as for color and fabric and shape.

As an italian woman from Milano, it makes me sad to see the lip filler and pillow-fillers in her face. (Obviously, Rosella and each person should do whatever they want or desire that makes them feel beautiful and comfortable.) It's just that I thought we were beyond this "chasing youth"-- The impression is of a much younger woman from 2 kilometers away. (again, if that's what she wants... great-- no criticism-- just my reaction of sadness). It's wonderful to use colours and jewelry if it makes one feel good. For me she is wearing too much makeup in the wrong shades. Coco Chanel said, "before you leave the house take one thing off." One necklace, one blouse. I admire her spirit but my impression is that she is trying much too hard. This is an impression of one italian lady of another's approach-- not a criticism.

Not true at all. You can find the most wonderful clothes in 2nd hand shops if you have a taste for style and quality. It just takes time and a knack for knowing what looks good on you and what expresses your personality. In addition, trying to keep your figure in shape is just as important as choosing the clothes.
People wearing expensive clothes sometimes don't know how to wear them or style them properly. I look at people wearing expensive clothing and then try to duplicate the look or the sense of the look, or the colours used with what I already have in my closet or that I could thrift and I always have people complimenting my look. By the way I am in my seventies. I always believe any look is ruined by rundown dowdy shoes and handbags. Perhaps put a bit more money into those items. Vintage jewellery can be found anywhere at all price points if you take the time to look!! There are many ideas of outfits on Pintrest!
