    I appreciate your video. In my mind, PVC is a really good option. It's light and can be made to be very sturdy. I really appreciated that you gave the cut dimensions and walked through the process. Good one!

    Excellent video. So easy a woman can do. I was able to watch, take notes, (dimensions/great help), and follow along. With the help of my husband, (my cut man) we built our tractor in about 5 hours. Thx so much for helping us. Looking forward to letting my chx free-range as needed in their New Chix Tractor - along the Rivah! There are so many Birds of Prey along the Rivahs...THIS is Just what I needed. BTW; I'm a newby...so Extra Thx; Many Thx to your video.

      I'm so glad it gives your birds a chance to free range and stay safe! Thank you for watching and the kind words, we have been using ours for two seasons now and it has held up great with no problem, I have had a small issue with it being lite weight, we live in Virginia very close to the coast and when we get some of the strong coastal storms come through I have had to secure it a few times to keep the strong winds from moving it but other than that it has been great.

    I want to put a PVC on the and on the part where you going to hinge 1 inch long PVC include and glue don't one side and left other side lose where you wanted to swing at that would be in your not trying to insult you or anything like that just an idea I had watching you put it thank you for your video inspiring

    You could use t's to make hinges for the door, with a small piece of pipe connecting them. Then glue the door t's, and have the frame t's unglued so it swings.

    I'm thinking about a smallish chicken tractor. Planning a permanent yard/coop and then a smaller more portable coop.

      I used a lot of what I had laying around, the white tarp on top is actually banner material that comes in a roll, I had some left over from a sign business I used to have but it's basically just like a tarp just a little thicker

    How do you keep predators from getting under the tractor and getting your birds?

    • @goodhopehomestead9684

      So far after using them heavily for two years I haven't had any issues with predators yet.

    do you think that 1" pvc will work? Thank you

    • @goodhopehomestead9684
      @goodhopehomestead9684  3 года назад

      Yes, 1" would work just fine I have had some send me pics of ones they built using different sized PVC, we just used the 3/4 because we got a great deal on it from a local lawn and garden center that was getting out of the irrigation business

    Where do they lay eggs ?

    • @goodhopehomestead9684
      @goodhopehomestead9684  4 года назад +1

      We use it for our Cornish cross meat birds, they are processed at 8 weeks so they aren't laying eggs by then
