      IMPORTANT- (first off thanks ;)) But, with rabbits you NEED to put a bottom on it (wire is OK) or they will burrow out- ask us how we know...

    Well you did and you showed a good job...YES people can put this together with very little cost..NOTE : Take time to look and ask around for free things to make this...And people note you can make this larger or smaller to whatever you are going to put into it ...even your crops away from the animals..Remember YOU CAN DO THIS ......GOD'S JOY...⚘🙏⚘..

  • @kyhilltophome3153
    @kyhilltophome3153 2 года назад +1

    A suggestion... Measure and mark out your placement of your holes on the PVC and drill them on the floor then when you start construction your holes are already drilled. A scrap piece of 2x4 under your drilling point will keep you from drilling the floor. My motto.. Work smarter not harder..

    Do not think would work in my part of the country. Get 50 to 60 mph gusts of wind. Already lost two chickens since letting them out after winter. But otherwise looks like nice easy quick build set up for people.

    Dog could get in easy and wipe out your chicks. Had it happen to me. Use hardware cloth and all wood now.

    • @Bigfamilyhomestead
      @Bigfamilyhomestead  2 года назад +1

      ANYthing could get in and kill them unless you had coop-knox. Weasels, coyotes, wolves, bear, eagles etc are around here. We have found that you need to build to your area... and so far, because of the location of the birds, and DONKEY... nothing comes near them. (YET) but, that's 2 years in, knock on wood ;)

  • @cindythompson1709
    @cindythompson1709 2 года назад +1

    Question do you put any kind of nesting boxes in there for them to lay their eggs?

    • @Bigfamilyhomestead
      @Bigfamilyhomestead  2 года назад +2

      No. When they get bigger it's not big enough for them. That's when the "changing of the guard" happens and they graduate to the big permanent coop. If you had less birds, you certainly could put nesting boxes in there, but I would redesign it to make collection easier.

    Great for meat birds or to keep your "too many roosters" until they are ready for the freezer.
