Thank you for sharing this. I had a lot of PVC and was wanting to make a chicken tractor.
Man, this is so clever. Thank you for sharing, will be giving it a try if I get brave enough to raise meat chickens!
Great videos and I love the supply list added for those folks who love following directions. Well done.
Thank you for explaining it to us . I’m starting chicken raising again .
Loved the videos on building your chicken run. My husband was interested in building one and your video was perfect help. Thank you so much. God Bless you and your beautiful family.
These are great videos! Very helpful and straightforward...I am planning on building a chicken tractor and I have gotten some great ideas from your videos..and Jaxon is just precious with those beautiful blue eyes! Thank you for sharing your ideas and your beautiful family!
You've got a lot of guts to work with that prime and glue on your deck... 😬 Thanks for the video.
Thank you
Well, mr. not a plumber, you did good work… pats on the back for everybody!
Hahaha, well thank ya very much! Thanks for watching!
Looks Great! I'm planning to build one soon and your video has been very helpful!
Man I really want to build one of these PVC tractors. You did a great job!
To bad a 10ft stick of 3 inch PVC cost $30 a 2x4x10 cost about $11. And with wood you don’t need any PVC fittings which cost quite a bit more than screws or nails.
One would be amazed what contractors throw away at construction sites so it doesn't hurt to look.
Pvc is so much lighter though!!
Great job!
Great build, you will be my inspiration this Fall.
Awesome
Obrigado pela dica vou aplicar no Brasil
I LOVE THIS IDEA! Have to build another one and I'm doing it your way!
Thank you! I hope this made it simple enough when I explained it. Im sure I left stuff out. I will try to remember to go back and put the parts required, in the description to help. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
@@rockyhollowhomestead5827 Thanks so much! You did a FABULOUS job of explaining!
@@beulahacreshomestead1927 awesome. Stay tuned for part 2. 😁
@@rockyhollowhomestead5827 Will do! I love how the Homesteader community comes together to help each other out! No matter where in the world we are, we are there! I think it's one of the last great truly godly communities!
@@beulahacreshomestead1927 I couldn't agree more!
Would you look at that. The pvc will make it light. Great job.
Thanks! Yes, that was my thoughts. Also heavy enough to make it hard for a predator to get under and it has a wider ground contact to help with that also. Won't stop predators but I feel like it will make it more difficult on them. The smooth PVC should slide across the ground pretty easy for us too.
3 inch is high demand mostly for main waste lines for houses.
This is awesome. I was going to build some pvc cages to protect my beds from deer and the prices of the elbows and connectors kept me from doing it. Where do you buy your supplies?
That sounds like a great idea! As for now I just buy them at Lowes. We are very limited in our area for "hardware store" items and building supply places. I will be uploading a materials list soon and part 2 of the build. Thanks so much for watching!
@@rockyhollowhomestead5827 we are very limited too. Makes it tricky lol.
@@beesandseeds yes it does!
He is right, purple primer is code. If you just use glue they will fail you every time. How did you pressure test it though? I didn't see the fitting. 😁
Hello Rocky Hollow Homestead. Can you give me the width, length and height measurements of this chicken coop in meters?
Rocky Hollow Homestead if I made this taller and longer and wider do you think I could use this as a goat and sheep tractor? Like would it be strong enough?
I haven't gotten that far in the video yet so not sure yet if this is covered. Using this system what do you do to protect the chickens from predators? Do you have an electric fence, guard dog, etc? I am thinking about this type of tractor however I do have predators that I need to prevent the from killing my chickens.
My question is that if you are not intending to run a liquid or pressurizing the pipe why would you use a primer. I think simply glue is sufficient.
How did the PVC hold up in the sun??
Materials list??
I will be adding the list to the description soon. I will also have it in part 2 of the build in the coming days. Thanks for watching!
What saw is that?
do you ever have puppies? she looks just like my girl with the pig tail and all but she is smaller and fixed.
I love the size of this tractor
Ya prices have gone crazy! Cool idea but no longer practical!
.
Thanks for watching!
@@rockyhollowhomestead5827 Haha sorry grandkids my whole post was deleted 🙄
I love your ideas. We will do similar but use dog house on 4 non removable wheels with bumpers and fine mesh for no escaping. We will just pull from the house end. We can get Great Dane size cedar dog houses for $25 so why not? Big enough for a back door, will be in A frame like dog house for the egg layers and yours exactly for the friers. We are 5 families so every 8 weeks we will get more. Really truly thanks for all the good tips, Respect from Peru
@@sharonstuebi8181 wow that is great! Sounds like you have a good plan. We appreciate the kind comments. It is definitely a learning process. Thanks so much for watching.
@@rockyhollowhomestead5827 thanks. We are learning to be real creative on our little farm
@@sharonstuebi8181 that is great. It seems that is definitely what it takes. We have more videos coming soon.
