Learned something new today - never heard of a tourbillon before this. Plus got to marvel at an intriguing watch. Thanks for the education Saleen. Also, I'm guessing they include the watch winder for folks with limited motor skills? If so, kudos to Agelocer for the thoughtfully including that tool.
Well, with twin watch barrels this watch does take a while to wind. The winding "wand" does make the process quicker, but I choose not to use it. I'd rather do it myself.
I do love the look of a skeleton watch. To me it's fascinating to see the inner workings of a watch. With the addition of a tourbillon it gets even better.
My theory is the tourbillon mechanism is pretty big, and adding on to that an automatic mechanism would make the watch very thick. Since most tourbillons I've seen are dress watches, and dress watches tend to be thin to fit under a dress cuff, you generally see tourbillons combined with manual movements.
What are hairspring and mainspring made of?. And people said that tourbillon is so complicated but I think It is quite simple. So why swiss made tourbillon costs hundreds thousands os dollars?
Mainsprings are made of steel generally. Hairsprings are usually either steel or silicon. As for complication level, tourbillons are very complicated though they look somewhat simple. They have to be designed to maintain consistent timing across multiple axis. And they require specific skills to build and time properly.
@MrJeremy9835 ok fair points but 2 things then: 1) hand made in watchmaking does not always mean superior quality 2) then comparing Swiss on Swiss why can Tag make it for 20 while most others will start it at 100? Is my hand polished escapement really worth the 80 diff?
Thanks for another itnersting review. I've a Waldhoff Vanguard V8 that uses a Chinese flying tourbillon hand-wound 5-day movement. It was one of my first microbrand watches. They are beautiful to look at and make nice dress watches, especially after I added a mesh bracelet to it. The Agelocer has less structure around it than the Waldhoff, making it more transparent.
Do not buy from Agelocer! I requested to cancel an order I made with them because I wanted to get another of watch from them instead. They agreed to cancel the order and refund me. Except that they never refunded me, stopped responding to my email and never sent the original order!!!! They kept my money!!!
I've bought one myself, I'm really excited about owning something so beautiful.
I know you're going to enjoy it. Nothing like watching a Tourbillon move.
Definitely considering getting one.
Thanks for the detailed review.
Glad I could help

I'm a big fan of skeleton watches, something different from the normal, which I love great purchase sir

Very cool
It really is.
can we put tourbillon at 12oclock position
I've seen tourbillions at all positions on a watch.
Why are tourbillon watches mainly handwinding?

Awesome
I agree. Thank you
How can the "regular" brands justify starting tourbillons at 100k...?
Thank is an excellent question. Probably has to do with labor costs for a good portion of it. Generally the Swiss don't use "enforced" labor.

Ignore him. He's not worth engaging.

I know of the Waldhoff Vanguard. Its a very very nice looking watch. Great pick up on your part.

I'm sorry to hear that. I ordered this from Amazon, and had no issue. I didn't order directly from Agelocer.
