Hiking with the old trusted Z65. Great how that bag just swallows gear. Hiked to a lake where I've had the canoe for a few months. Great to be out in the green pickle again and the fish are back!
Forgot an important piece of gear and had to do some greenwood carving. A steak and some nice stew in the woods can never go wrong. Did a kind of forester tarp setup at second camp and got an interesting very spacious tweak out of it.
People ask a lot about my gear.. and I'm sorry to say I'm uninterested in brands, weight, measurements and all that.. half the time I don't even know the name of the gear I use etc, so I'm too lazy putting out info for you guys. But this time I googled for a good while and did a full LOADOUT in the video! Only thing I couldn't find was my stainless steel pot with fry pan lid. I think it's some kind of cheap brand from Jula. But not sure. So enjoy and thanks for watching!
Full loadout in the video so please don't ask about the gear!

This is how we are meant to live-semi-nomadic with nature not stuck in some urban jungle.

another brilliant one! hard to argue with sitting next to a tree for a few days....for the uninitiated non-scandinavian, the magical trick of getting sap out of a birch tree for liquid is something most kids learn growing up because we spend a fair bit of time in the wilderness and its a great source of sweet water but Swedwoods method is a level up! it should be said that his methods are maybe more a reminder that we should take the time to figure out how and what we want to do, and create our own solutions as we go..your moment of Zen..

I have to agree, if one can effectively communicate what you're doing or how to do it without saying a word it makes one's content easier to understand by everyone on the planet without need for translation. Plus, as you point out, the viewer can enjoy the sounds of nature and immerse ourselves as if we were there by ourselves. There aren't many RUclipsrs that do this.

Otherwise, I had the best night's sleep in a while. I love doing that kind of camping. Just take what I can carry in my pack. I usually carry a 3 x 3m DD tarp but not this time. With the way you camp in your videos I think we are of the same mind. In winter I use canvas tarps, and tents here in Canada. Thank you for your videos.

Hi and thank you once again for your time and effort, allowing me to have an hour's worth of REAL entertainment. I just want you to know that it is very much appreciated.
Can you please let me know where you got your fire bowl/ steamer from. I have looked everywhere for one like that. The standard steamer has so many holes they burn to hot. I have tried lining mine with aluminium foil, it makes it better but if you fold it up just once the foil is no good. I loved how you closed it up and if made enough charcoal to enable you to boil a kettle in the morning. Absolutely brilliant. I have tried many dedicated fire blows etc but always come back to a steamer. It's a shame nobody make one out of titanium. Please let me know as I remember a comment you made a couple of weeks ago when someone said that you needed a new one.
    Many thanks once again

A lot of great tips in this one, Swedwood! I like how you started the coals back up w/your ferro rod... Didn't know it was so dry there already! Your new pack - it's _really_ nice! Amazing how much you can put in there. Thanks for showing everything; awesome vid! 👍👍👍

Your supper looks delicious. Nothing better than the taste of camp cooking. I'm always super hungry being outside and working to get my site going. Sitting back with some bourbon cooking a fine supper makes me feel like a king.

Love the channel! I have been recovering from an auto accident involving an elk! This has severely hampered my outdoor activity for the past several months. Channels such yours have helped me stay motivated! Many thanks and best wishes from Oklahoma!

Thank you for spending an hour with us, as always, a nice journey you took us on. And thanks for sharing the contents of your backpack, interesting to see what you feel is necessary for a few days in the forest.

I’m so glad you did a great gear breakdown and told us the brand and model! I always overpack out of fearing I will need something, then my pack is always too heavy.
Now seeing what you carry and you are able to do redefines what I need to carry! Thank you

I always make a kit list for every trip, then tick off all the stuff you actually used once you get home, after a while you will find the same things never gets used & I find it helps making the decision to leave it out of your pack the next time?
      Just my way.

Amazing what went into and what came out of that Z65. The Stainless Steel cookset 'could be' Helikon Tex. I have one and they look similar only mine is shining new - unused, but mine is 2 pots and a frying pan. I thought we were in for a PIKE Supper, but you let the guy go. Good test on the Moss - I wasn't expecting it to burn like that. Next trip will see the Mossies back in swarms no doubt.
