Out camping on a solo canoe trip with lots of rain. Been away for a while spending time with the wife and kids. Been to Denmark, did some gardening, fishing and camping without a camera, playing my new vintage organ, saw Wardruna play in an old castle ruin. Awesome times.
So the idea behind this video was just to go out camping and do everything as simple as possible. Like I would do if not making a video. Just being there for the moments. Fish, cook, Eat, sleep, paddle, portage. Repeat. I actually forgot to bring my fork as usual..but instead of carving a new one I just ate with my knife, spoon and fingers. A bit much rain this time to be comfortable. Lost both gloves, small lantern, a lens and a new jacket. 2 months away maybe made me a bit rusty. But it was worth it. At least I had one night without rain sleeping under the stars. That rain footage in the end recorded with my 35mm was maybe the best I ever got. Cold one day and warm the next. A lot of mosquitoes at one camp and none at the next. The Log fire I had at the end camp was because of mosquitoes. It gave out the right amount of smoke for many hours.
The end credits mention a friend in New York. A friend I've had for many years now and some of my most used and favorite gear I got from him, like my Acme cold handle pans for example. He's been supportive from the start in what I am doing and in fact it was because of him I started shooting videos in the woods to begin with. So he sent me the backpack used in this video, it's a Frost River cooking and canoe pack. Stunning piece of gear and very high quality. Thank's again brother.
Trying a more cinematic format this time. It's true 4k with the image a bit wider. I think I like the look of it but tell me what you think. Is it a keeper or should I go back to 16:9?

You are right about the rain toward the end, i was already in the zen by watching for a bit, but when the hard rain hit, the sight and sound made all the muscles in my shoulders really relax, like just having a massage! @50:55 the trees look like they have Christmas lights on them, truly a great shot. Video worth waiting for. Video I will carefully watch more than once: there are so many special images here. My favorite is the frames where raindrops form circular patterns on the water and they match the circular patterns of the floating vegetation. I am happy that you landed a nice fish. Often your efforts at fishing are shown as coming up 'empty.'

I do the bannock on a stick often. I have learned tonget the stick really, really hot before you wrap the bannock on it. Also, try a hotdog or sausage in there! Good eating.

As a french I'm envious when seeing the vast expanses you have and the regulations about bivouac in your country. France had a beautiful nature but town planning, laws and the ambient stupidity gnaw it little by little. you clearly have a relationship with nature and an education towards it that we miss it here.
Maybe one day I will be an expat in Sweden ahah

Excellent, brilliant execution of a man solo tripping through the wilderness. Been watching for several years it seems, or maybe I just want it to be so..at any rate, the content and quality has always been superb. The work is much appreciated and there's plenty of that. I have no idea whether you manage to keep on top of comments. There are so many. I am 15 minutes into this and enjoying it as I have always enjoyed your videos. For several years now. BUT - I think that's the first time I've heard a musical sound track on one of your videos. I really don't think you need it, my friend. Your cinematography and story telling is marvellous; you don't need technopop. Look how many folk comment on the peace and quiet and natural sounds. Keep up the good work.

All the food you had made all looked amazing and I bet the taste was as amazing as it looked. You sure do know how to eat a fine meal as well as prepare one. The coffee over a open fire out in the wilderness is so amazing as well. Plus the great outdoors, fishing and more. Was that a moose making that sound in the video? Your videos are a huge inspiration to me. Came across your videos after I had been watching Rick Nagualero's channel (RIP) for a while. You guys inspired me to start a channel and actually put in the work. The more I do the more I can respect the time and effort you put into this art. This is a lot of hard work and dedication. Most people don't see the behind the scenes stuff that goes into it. One day I will be on your guys' level of talent when it comes to bushcraft, but also the beautiful filming.
