I have to agree with you on the mazda brand front Sam, the designs and cars lately are spot on. I've found similar with some of the hybrids I've driven, the power delivery doesn't punch and throw you into the seat like you'd expect it to, its an odd driving sensation, it goes well but doesn't feel like it. I have owned and driven automatic cars for many years, but, having driven the CX 30 auto and manual versions back-to-back, I have to admit that the manual version is a much better drive. The auto makes this car's performance seem far more mediocre, sedate even, than it , in reality, is.

I've driven a few other mild-hybrids with less power, and they seem to pick up better. Thanks for the comment Eddie!
I'm confused with this review. It states reviewing a 2021 grey e skyactive X, but your drivin a 69 plate, which have the first skyactive X engine?

I think the automatics transmission is a CVT, I think I know how you feel about that Sam 😅 but so love the design on this car

Automatic is a 6 speed torque converter.
