I am an 80 year old woman who has been gifted a Kobalt weedeater and have used it enough that the string was used up and needed new string.I followed your instruction video and was able to do it myself. Thank you.
That's fantastic! Thanks for the comment!
You are the Best HowTo for restringing this weed eater. Thank you for the Clear Instructions!!!
Thank you for the kind words and the Super Thanks! Much appreciated!
OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! The hours and hours and hours and money I have wasted trying to one find the replacement kit calling lowes calling kobalt pulling my hair. I had NO idea you can just use regular wire and twist it in. Customer service for kobalt didn't even know that. OH MY GOSH. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Glad this helped get you up and running again!!!
I've had the Kobalt 40v Trimmer for about a year and ever since I've had it I've found it difficult adding new line. Looking at the scant directions in the manual was of little help. Your video offered clear and concise directions which I quickly replicated. Thank you for posting this video.
You're welcome!!!
I agree.
I just got the book out and it was useless to me.
This helped a lot.
Thanks so much for this video! Showing how to restring with the video UP CLOSE was great. Thank you!
Great!
I watched a different video which only had the first method and was about ready to give up on restringing my Kobalt because I didn’t have the wrist strength. Thank you so much for showing the second method!!
Great. And you're welcome!
I've never done this on any weedeater before. I tried the first method this morning and it worked! Thank you!!!
Great! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for not overexplaining. Nice work. Slip the halfway spot it the slot and follow the arrows!
Thanks for the feedback!
Excellent video, that’s my exact model I just got. The instruction manual was useless for this, so thank you for posting the vid!!
Thanks!!!
I just bought the 24v and this is the same for that and aligns with the newer string coil so thank you and for doing it at a good pace. Thank you.
You're welcome!
THANK YOU MY UNIT WAS A PAIN TO REPLACE AND THE 2ND METHOD YOU SHOWED ME WORKED GREAT!!
Awesome!
Last year, I searched for how-to videos, but didn't really find anything helpful. Just searched today, and your video was first. THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED!! Both methods were successful. Thank you SO MUCH! Adding to my DIY list.😁
Great! Glad I could help, and thanks for the kind words!
I've seen other videos but they had a different Kobalt model. You have my exact model and explained the process so well. Thank you!!!
Great! Thanks!
Thank you so much this video was so quick I was able to finish cutting my neighbors lawn thanks again
Great! You're welcome.
Couldn't use the 'easy' method because I still had string sticking out of one side. Low visibility made it hard to find the release detents. Amazing how much it helps to actually see something being done vs reading about it in a manual. Thanks!
YW!
🙂👍
Method #2 solved my problem. Gotta love the RUclips community 🙌🏼. Thank you!!!
Great. Thanks!
Thank you, you made this easy for me. Im a senior female. My first time doing this. Thanks again😊
Great! Congratulations for getting it done yourself!
Dude!! You're a lifesaver!!! Thank you so much! All these years! LOL
Ha! Thanks!
Thank you so much! 30 something here and finally learned how to do it!!!
But you did it!
Thank you for listing the size of string to use. A big thumbs up 👍!!
You're welcome, and thanks!!
Out of all the videos that I have watched on how to re-string this stupid thing, nobody has shown me the way you have shown me in the second method you demonstrated. That is just stupid simple. Thank you ever so much for that. I am VERY grateful. ;)
Glad to have helped! Thanks for the kind words.
Excellent video! Couldn't make heads or tails with the manual, watching your video made it simple. Method #1 was the one for me. Thanks so much for making my day!
Thanks!
Thank you. The second way you showed worked for me because I didnt have the strength as a 65 yr old female to turn it the first way.
OK, good. Glad I could help. Thanks for the feedback!
You saved my life, man. I was about to lose my mind trying to restring this.
Glad you figured it out!
Thaaaank you!!! Because man in home depot showed me how to open it but not how to thread it right🤦🏾♀️this was very helpful. Now I can show my 16 year old. Teaching him how to cut our yard. 🥰
Great! Good to teach teenagers how to help!
Had no clue how to add the line as I foray into battery operated trimmer...thanks for returning sanity into my life!!!
Great! Thanks for the comment!
This video is extremely straightforward and easy to follow. I will add that I had to use something to help me push in the opening levers to remove the top. Thanks for your video!
You're welcome. Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you for making a quick and precise video. I can confirm the first method works for an 80V as well. One thing i noticed that varied, my bump know was so scratched and scoured that i couldnt see the arrow. You can rotate the knob while looking through the eyelet until you see the passthrough hole, and it worked like a charm. Cheers
Great! Thank you!
Hey man thanks so much. I’ve never done manual stuff, and your video literally guided me thru my first success story 😂
Great video
Awesome! Glad I was able to help! You're on your way to many future successes!!!
Thank you! I didn't have the owners manual so your vid helped me out!
Awesome!
Thank you for your help. Me being a woman I just watched a half a zillion videos and not one of them did it so easy than you. Lol. Your 1st demonstration was so simple thanks again. I'm saving your video for future easy access to replace a line on these Wackers
That's great. Glad you figured it out on your own after a few tips from the video!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The first method didn’t work for some reason, but the second one did. I really appreciate you taking the time to post this video.
YW!
I'm sure you've gotten plenty of kudos for your video. I would like to add my name to that list. Excellent job. Thank you.
Well I appreciate it! Thanks!
Thanks for posting this. Helped me get it set up quick.
Great!
Bro. I had no idea. Thanks man. Just another reason why I like this trimmer better than my previous green works one.
🙂👍
Thank You.
Now we know it is possible to do this by stringing the spool first.
The "easy" way is a pain, the cap doesn't turn easily at all. Had to take turns and each of us ended up with sore hands.
I am happy (and she is too) that we don't have to do it the "easy" way.
You're welcome. And I agree with you on the "easy" way.
You have to push down hard n turn at Same time
Thanks, option 2 worked really easy for me....thank you for creating this video.👍
You're welcome! Glad to hear it!
Glad to see this as I thought there was only one way. Which was the newest way with this newer model. Mine didnt turn so easily think I will just stick to the old way. Gratitude
Good deal. Thanks for the nice comment.
Thank you for this video! I was stressing how to restring it but your instructions were clear and so helpful! I ended up doing the second method, thank you again!
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
I want to tell you I am so glad I watched your video! Your demonstration is super easy to do! It's so easy that it's fun to string my Kobalt string trimmer! I went over my friend and tell him how simple simple it is to string the Kobalt trimmer now with your demonstration. Thank you thank you thank you very much.
Glad to hear it! Yes, it's very easy once you see how to do it. Thanks for the comment!
This is genius! Thank you, you save me a lot of headache trying to man-figure it out myself! Lol
😄👍 Glad this helped!
Very easy to follow. I wish the instruction manual could have made it that easy. Thankyou
Thanks 🙂👍
Thanks a lot, I have exactly the same model, and there's always a first time to replace the string and I did it the easy way
Great!
Thank you so much for sharing! It’s my go to video every time I’m have to change the trimmer line. Today is a good day as option one worked on the first try!
Awesome, glad to hear it! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you so much! I was getting frustrated lol
You're welcome!
Great Video!! Had trouble reloading string because owners manual is of little help. Saw your video and reloaded string easy peasy. Thanks so much for your help.
Thanks!
great video. well scripted. great teaching method. THANK YOU
Thank you!!
I watched at least 5 other videos before I found this, which covers my exact model. I agree with other posts: the instruction manual is useless AND the "pop-it-in" replacements I found do not fit. Of course you don't know that until you've destroyed the packaging.... Thanks for an excellent video!
I appreciate it!
I used your tips this morning to string my Kobalt, it was very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Glad to hear it!
I gotta say what a great fucking video seriously no sarcasm at all I’ve been dealing with this damn weed eater for about 3 months now and it has given me trouble loading it every time excuse my cussing but sometimes cussing is necessary
👍😂
This is great! Especially for someone like me whose rotating head (with the yellow arrows) will no longer “click turn”, so to extend further trimmer cord I have to remove the head and extend it manually.
Many thanks!
You're welcome!
Oh my how easy it was to string my kolbolt! Excellent video! Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Thank you for showing both ways. Turns out my weed whacked bump head us so ground down that only the old school method works for me. I know I’m going to have to replace the bump knob.
🙂👍
The easiest time I ever had loading string , thank you
You're welcome! 👍
Nice! Short, sweet. simple and straight to the point...
Thanks 👍🙂
Nice, simple video. I absolutely HATE mucking about with string trimmers but this vid made it easy, thanks for sharing 🙂
Glad to hear it. Thanks for sharing.

Great. Glad this helped.
This was incredibly helpful thank you
Great! Thank you!
Excellent video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks!
Thank you! The last video I tried over a year ago didn't show this and it was not helpful, and like another guy said, didn't see this in ny manual. You saved me so much stress.
Glad this helped!
Thank you so much for posting this very helpful video!!!
YW!
Your video was so much help. Thank you so much.

Great!
Thank you so much for this video!! Someone gave me this trimmer and I've never used the first one. I've downloaded the manuel and watched a few videos and this is the one that made it all click. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you Uncle Fix Everything Yourself! See ya at the reunion!
👍
Thanks from a woman who doesn't have a dad to teach me how to do this on my first weedeater. I was about to cry 😅 or go to my neighbors house like a sad sad girl 😂
Good job. Most tasks around the home end up being easier than you'd think, especially when you get a short tutorial like on YT. Glad you figured it out!
Thank you! I just took care of something hubs didn’t want to bother with figuring out. 🤣 He’s very happy💪🏼
Awesome!
Thank you sir! I needed this help!

Awesome 👌 thank you for sharing.

Thank you for the explanation. The instructions included are useless and makes me feel like I need a degree in rocket science for such a simple task.
You're welcome!
