OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! The hours and hours and hours and money I have wasted trying to one find the replacement kit calling lowes calling kobalt pulling my hair. I had NO idea you can just use regular wire and twist it in. Customer service for kobalt didn't even know that. OH MY GOSH. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had the Kobalt 40v Trimmer for about a year and ever since I've had it I've found it difficult adding new line. Looking at the scant directions in the manual was of little help. Your video offered clear and concise directions which I quickly replicated. Thank you for posting this video.

Couldn't use the 'easy' method because I still had string sticking out of one side. Low visibility made it hard to find the release detents. Amazing how much it helps to actually see something being done vs reading about it in a manual. Thanks!

Thank you for making a quick and precise video. I can confirm the first method works for an 80V as well. One thing i noticed that varied, my bump know was so scratched and scoured that i couldnt see the arrow. You can rotate the knob while looking through the eyelet until you see the passthrough hole, and it worked like a charm. Cheers

Now we know it is possible to do this by stringing the spool first.
The "easy" way is a pain, the cap doesn't turn easily at all. Had to take turns and each of us ended up with sore hands.
I am happy (and she is too) that we don't have to do it the "easy" way.
