They lost me right there too. It probably has to do with taxes, and perhaps these cars are only here for the Summer, spending Winter in the Italian Alps and other seasons in Marbella?
But oth the airport and St-Tropez are on the coast. You can hire a speedboat and arrive in style. The traffic on that road is horrible in Summer.

france is very beautiful, but st. tropez is overrated in my opinion! Cannes is 100000x better. Capri is STUNNING as well.

Lol that's cap. I visited both 2 weeks ago and St. Tropez is by far more worth visiting then cannes
Cannes old town (Le Suquet) is nice, but the Croisette was unbearably bling bling to my taste. I prefer the small towns inland. The only beach town I really enjoined was unassuming, laidback Cagnes-sur-Mer. What a difference a letter makes!
