It depends of the opponent. Generally, you get stars when you catch an opponent where he is usually not caught. You have to surprise him! so, playing the game helps to learn how to get stars. However, against King Hippo, we can't. ;)
God Damn, it took me hours to figure out how to beat this bastard when I was a kid, and here you make it look easy.
Impressive, your reflexes and timing were near perfect. You may have just KO'd him if you'd nailed him with the uppercut beforehand (then again, you wouldn't have gotten that second star) In the end, I think that this is the quickest way to beat him. Kudos and continue to fight it out. =D
Impressive. I always dodged his jab to start and countered him. I didn't know you could hit him so early in the match.
You just have to press "Start" when you have a Star to use! However, if you're talking about the strength of my uppercuts, they looked so powerful because as soon as an opponent gets up at the count of 1, he'll fall at the very first next uppercut he'll get punched with! ;)
When the light of his hat shines, we can hit him on the face to get a star. I always keep my guard up against him, so he puts his arms up too, but when hia hat shines, he lowers his defense and I hit him! How could I be so fast to hit him? I studied his pattern, and when we are well timed, we can exactly know when he'll be vulnerable! ;)
this has to be the world record lol!
I did not know this was possible at all. I played this game so many times and this guy was a pain. 51 Seconds! I always get him in second or third round.

It's the only tiem we can fight him. He doesn't come back after this first and only fight against him! ;)
If you mean the uppercuts that send him to the canvas as soon as he gets up... When an opponent gets up at 1, he always gets knocked down after if he gets hit by Little Mac's Big Uppercut! ;)

@DTE225 He can't block the punch I was talking about, nor avoid it in the first minute. That punch is the Star Uppercut. ;)

@owensentis Depends on opponents. Hit them with accuracy as they are doing some moves. It can change along the fight, depending on the time too. ;)

@DTE225 In fact, we can get a Star when his hat glows. And, inside the first minute, we can throw an uppercut at almost any time when Great Tiger is not hitting and Little Mac will reach the head easily. ;)

Definitely a faster way to beat him, punch him while he's doing nothing, he will then throw a counterpunch. Dodge that and then throw a delayed punch at his gut. A faster way to get stars.

Yes, but there is a way to do better. My technique has to be used at some points, but principally, we need to use the delayed body punch. ;)

@HalDanGhor You can do the same trick on Bald Bull's rematch but the timing is different.
interesting. this guy gave me so much trouble. If I were able to beat him I could get to where the players repeat themselves. I was able to get to the second bald bull. Right now I am playing the WII version and I just got to Don Flamengo. Kinda tough - very different.
you have no idea how much trouble i have with tiger even more than soda macho and tyson i just cant get the rythme rite
When you get a Star from an opponent, you can use it by pressing the "Start" button... ;)

I knocked him down on the mat 5 times and he STILL got up. Then it went to decision and of course because the game's programmed that way, I lost even though he never touched me : /

I have no idea HOW to beat this guy. I had to rematch this guy. I lost, but I got so MAD, I closed out the emulator, put on a boxing glove, and slammed my heavy bag 5 times.
If it gets you mad at losing to Great Tiger, my advice for you is to calm down because if you can't control yourself to get past him, what will it be for the next and last 8 fights of the game? The more it goes, the harder it becomes.;)
