Astorath once started killing members of a chapter who thought they were sons of Gillimon. That's an interesting way to discover Sanguinius is really your gene sire. No idea how Astorath would handle an entire pissed off chapter.

I think not only should Astorath, but his entire retinue should cross. After the initial success they should be crossing a company at a time as fast as they can.
'Lord Emperor, Father Sanguinius. We confess our unworthiness. We are unfit to stand in your name. Our blood is weak, our victories failures. In death, we repent.' - Astorath The Grim ‘I am the Redeemer, Sanguinius’s chosen executioner...' ‘We are the Emperor’s avenging angels. We show no mercy. No forgiveness. We have been bred to bring only death. We are terrible to behold and our fury is the stuff of fire-swept legend. Yet-’ Astorath paused, letting his words hang in the air a moment before continuing. ‘There are terrors in the depths of the universe whose might eclipses our own, whose hatred we cannot comprehend. There are foes we must face who will cross the lines of honour and kinship that we cannot afford to break.’ - Astorath The Grim during the Trial of Gabriel Seth
It seems most of the Blood Angels are people marines remember in the Master of Mankind where the Angel stationed in Terra was able to deal with any and all normal humans effortlessly
I never was a huge Blood Angels fan. Don't get me wrong, I liked them well enough, but they were not amongst my favourite chapters, as I just simply seen them too overpowered and their theme too convoluted (being emo angel vampires is like something out of a teenage girls' novel... superficially of course). I loved Dante for example, but Mephiston always just felt out of the charts powerful to me. But with this story you really started to get me loving them as much as I love the Salamanders or the Fists. I just love chaplains, they have long since been some of my favourite characters, and this is just awesome. The first 40k trilogy I read were the Tomes of Fire by Nick Kyme, and chaplain Elysius' charcter just endeared them to me so much. As I immerse myself more and more into the lore of 40k, I realize that I'll probably end up loving every single loyalist legion by the end and won't even be able to pick a clear favourite.
Since hearing the theory about an alternative last fight on the Vengeful Spirit, I really can't stop reading entirely different meanings into these Blood Angel stories... In short: What if it wasn't Horus who killed Sanguinus, nor mortally wounded the Emperor? There's no way Sanguinus would lose a battle against the Warmaster, who nearly lost to Russ, even if somewhat tired after singlehanded holding the gate against Chaos forces and Greater demons; and very unlikely that the Emperor would have stopped short of obliterating Horus and allow himself to be mortally wounded by him. What if Sanguinus went full rage mode in his battle against Horus, killed him, and then attacked the Emperor himself as his rage could not be contained. That would be much more reasonable as to why the Emperor didn't want to fight back at first, but eventually was forced to kill his most beloved son, and then destroy Horus and kill everyone else in the room so that none would know of what actually happened there. Then, what if those who fall to the Black rage does not just relive the moment of their gene-father's death at the hands of Horus, but rather that of the entire battle; from when Sanguinus finally succumbed to the Thirst, to the shameful moment his madness drove him to attack the Emperor himself. Would it make sense if someone like Astorath has been chosen as one of the Emperor's "saints", and is led by him; not only to free the fallen of their torment; but also to keep them from ever telling anyone else about their father's final moments...?
Remember Russ won becouse he had a spear crafted with a shard of the soul of the Emperor with godkiller propertys (permakills daemons) resembling gungnir of norse mythos. I hope they dont taint the Angels noble sacrifice.
I wonder why the Iron Hands don't have something like this? And the Salamanders? The Salamanders should be absolute nut cases if the death of a primarch causes madness.
If you want to look at it as grim darkly as possible... The iron hands don't need this because they are literally doing it to themselves. They don't lose themselves to a black rage, they lose themselves piece by piece as they take themselves apart. They, too, are lost children of a fallen primarch. And it has shattered them just as deeply, though it arises differently.
xD unrelated but i usually watch your videos alongside playing pc games....had some real funky ffxiv background music start right as your video started and the dissonance shook me hard....upbeat cafe lounge music and the grim darkness of the far future
i strongly suspect that the perpetual gene is a lot more present than originally believed, but that in most cases its not activated which is why the cabal could grant it to grammatticus. its also clear that kharn at the very least was a perpetual its the only way he could have survived the landraider during the istvaan betrayal. same thing for angron getting consistently buried blacking out (just like vulcan did) then waking up seemingly unstoppable even when he has been skinned at the same time lorgar is getting shot and crushed by a titan. morty, horus, the khan, sanguinius. every primarch has these moments in the novels that get skimmed over and ignored and i really think theyre the biggest clue of all to the treachery of chaos.

I really don't think it's Sanguinius smoothing the warp out, I think it is genuinely the strength of purpose he has. That's how the warp works and what is described, after all. They could easily have said it was the Angel, but they didn't.
So, the Black Rage, supposedly buffs Blood Angel by a significant margin but makes them insane, is slained by one man who's literal job is just to kill Astartes who had the black rage
I disagree with the idea that it's some left over aspect of Sanguinius which helps speed Astorath through the Immaterium. You kind of mentioned it yourself, how power in the warp is amplified by the embodiment of concepts. We know that large groups of people believing in something is how something gains power in The Warp, which is why Slaanesh formed through the debauchery of the Eldar, and how the Emperor of Mankind is akin to a God now. I think, simply put, that the infamy of Astorath among the Blood Angels, how he's tied to a painful aspect of them, and how to them he embodies Death, is what speeds him through the warp. Because, really, what's faster or more sudden than Death?
Do you think that maybe Majorkill is right and that it was Sanguinius who killed Horus and was overtaken with grief and pain from having to kill his brother. In this story it echoes exactly that. Erasmus thought Astorath was the Emperor, succumbs to the affliction and then has to be killed out of compassion.
As an Ultramarine. My brothers in the Blood Angels. The sons of Sanguinus need no redemption. They serve The Emperor proudly. With honor. The Angel of Baal. Brother of Robute Gulliman. One of the dauntless few. Is much missed. One day The Emperor will bring back Sanguinus. By His will.
Whats with the...Chaplain(?) in the bottom left corner? He isn't in all black armor (or even some black armor, since the jumpack chaplain (Not Astorath) also has red armor) And his shoulder pad with the blood angel symbol doesn't line up well. You see too much of the symbol and u wouldn't from that angle

I want to hear astroath first encounter with a fallen primaris that would be interesting
He has the Angel’s Mercy.. he is truly heroic
I think not only should Astorath, but his entire retinue should cross. After the initial success they should be crossing a company at a time as fast as they can.
True but imaginé loosing the five Erelim at once, It would be cathastrophic.
@@Dreadbringer Yeah, but plot armor
@@TDBoedy jajajaja true enough.
'Lord Emperor, Father Sanguinius.
We confess our unworthiness.
We are unfit to stand in your name.
Our blood is weak, our victories failures. In death, we repent.' - Astorath The Grim
‘I am the Redeemer, Sanguinius’s chosen executioner...'
‘We are the Emperor’s avenging angels.
Personally I think Sanguinius's TWO souls returned to the warp and calm the warp for him.
If only a writer could make a cannon meeting between Astorath and Maugan Ra

Write it, submit it. See what they say.
Fingers crossed for a video about lemartes before the week is out.
Great read. I will check the library for this one.
I love the Dragon Dracula armor he wears
... And I'm bawling in the supermarket.
I actually liked this. Normally 40k is not my thing but Asteroth is a well made character.
Astorath was a Judiciar before it was cool
I wonder why the Iron Hands don't have something like this? And the Salamanders? The Salamanders should be absolute nut cases if the death of a primarch causes madness.
If you want to look at it as grim darkly as possible... The iron hands don't need this because they are literally doing it to themselves. They don't lose themselves to a black rage, they lose themselves piece by piece as they take themselves apart.
They, too, are lost children of a fallen primarch. And it has shattered them just as deeply, though it arises differently.
It's uncle grim and his axe !
Tis the Symphony of the Night he hears...
Frankly the Blood Angels are a lost chapter. Sooner or later they will all fall to the rage. Why even waste more Primaris on them ....
Astorath is a psyker and he steers his ship in the warp personally using the "music" as a Astronomican
I have a question, are the wings on their jump packs… articulate? And if they are, do they provide any practical advantage?
xD unrelated but i usually watch your videos alongside playing pc games....had some real funky ffxiv background music start right as your video started and the dissonance shook me hard....upbeat cafe lounge music and the grim darkness of the far future
i strongly suspect that the perpetual gene is a lot more present than originally believed, but that in most cases its not activated which is why the cabal could grant it to grammatticus. its also clear that kharn at the very least was a perpetual its the only way he could have survived the landraider during the istvaan betrayal. same thing for angron getting consistently buried blacking out (just like vulcan did) then waking up seemingly unstoppable even when he has been skinned at the same time lorgar is getting shot and crushed by a titan. morty, horus, the khan, sanguinius. every primarch has these moments in the novels that get skimmed over and ignored and i really think theyre the biggest clue of all to the treachery of chaos.
I want to know more about the black wings. I suppose angelic wings are considered an acceptable mutation? Or are they decorative and not real wings?
I wonder what he heard during the devastation of ball entire chapter fell to the rage
***be blood angel
***pretty boi drink blood, vampires but not lame, pretty cool
***after a few thousand battles you start seeing visions of some bald dude that's pissed on your dad
***feeling pretty angry
***after killing all bald dudes some guy with black wings shows up
***ruclips.net/video/AB6sOhQan9Y/видео.html starts playing
***was a good life
Just imagine if Astorath decides to go Primaris along with Dante to defend Terra...
So who comes after Astorath when he falls to the Black Rage?
Astorath comes after Astorath falls.
Htarotsa
The rest of the Erelim battle brother. Astorath Is the leader of the five.
So...what if Astorath falls to the blood curse?
The Erelim would take him out, not that It would be Easy, maybe all at once, like what happened to lucían lachance.
Blood Angels are the saddest chapter. So honorable, and yet so cursed,
the lamenters just double down on that
@@Tommy-5684 oof. Yup. Tzeentch fuckin hates them.
The Fallen??
*ASMOOODAAAAAAAAAAAAI!!!*
Asmodai: INTERROGATE!?
A comment for the last video I think the hive tyrant may have given Dante a disease
Speed kills battle brother.
So what was he doing when baal was attacked by the Tyrannids
As an Ultramarine. My brothers in the Blood Angels. The sons of Sanguinus need no redemption. They serve The Emperor proudly. With honor.
The Angel of Baal. Brother of Robute Gulliman. One of the dauntless few. Is much missed. One day The Emperor will bring back Sanguinus. By His will.
Whats with the...Chaplain(?) in the bottom left corner?
He isn't in all black armor (or even some black armor, since the jumpack chaplain (Not Astorath) also has red armor)
And his shoulder pad with the blood angel symbol doesn't line up well. You see too much of the symbol and u wouldn't from that angle
