the fun part is the hunt, the shitty part is taking pictures and listing the crap and waiting.
that's why I go for jewellery and the occasional flatware...if you buy right and all you have to do is build up a quantity send it off and collect your cheque within a few days...my best hit was 10g of 9kt gold for 50p which turned out as £112 in scrap...it could have sold for £200 as jewellery but at that price it was just easier that way
gold at goodwill??
more or less as it was a charity shop in the UK hence the lower gold grade and pounds over dollars but I've managed gold twice for a total of £1.50 with the above case and a couple of odd earrings for £1...it is possible but it takes work and experience to know what is right (the bangle was marked at one end but in a missable place and the earring were unmarked so it was case of matching the colour to my own ring and taking the plunge) or not as well as outright luck that it has been missed by the volunteers
That’s called fishing
Agreed!!
Should always tie your shoes, never know when sh** might hit the fan, lol. cool channel, subbed
Goodwill is too expensive..the best buys are at little non high named thrift stores. Little holes in the wall are the best.
Mas Moi exactly! I love the little hole in the walls.
Exactly! Thats why Goodwill CEO's are millionaires! Much better deals elsewhere!
I found a cashmere Chanel sweater and skirt @ a tiny thrift store in Durango Colorado. $800 profit on $3.50 for both pieces
Usually true, but Goodwill gets more stuff through its doors just by virtue of being a convenient place to donate. Other places are like "NO DUMPING" and you have to spend 30 minutes tracking someone down who will accept your donation.
Not by me! The little mom and pop thrift stores are asking as much or MORE than our local GW(s). That's not to say I can't find deals. I found a $200 Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket at a GW for $10.00 in New Condition. I have it on FBMP....almost sold it but still have it for sale. *Edit* Just sold it today for $80 (12/27)
Xbox consoles pretty sub par for resale. I have however had luck with controllers. Especially the wireless. Halo edition.
I love the Salvation Army I rarely resell just love treasure hunting or finding something for my kids or to pass on to someone who needs it
Thrift stores have caught on. I went to one recently and they had all the "worthy" items locked in a glass display case (Jordan sneakers, Louie bags, Gucci sunglasses) priced high.
as someone who works in a "charity/thrift" store, I really have no problems at all with people like yourself coming into my store and buying items, after all you are paying the ticket price. What really REALLY grinds my gears are the Ebay people who come in and start asking for discounts on items. That is just damn cheeky.
Pete Shields I don’t even shop at GoodWill anymore, the prices are close and sometimes higher than retail!
@@IMOO1896 yes the prices at goodwill are too high here too but still occasionally check anyway just in case.we have a senior discount so thats something
Pete are you in the uk?
yes.
@@Peyoutube156 the term cheeky is something i have only heard from brits.do you have a organization like goodwill over there? Or just alot of little thrift stores, just curious
There's a Goodwill my friends and I like to go to to look for retro/vintage stuff. I always end up finding such great deals there though on unexpected items. I bought an entire Logitech Z-680 system for $9.99. I also just bought a brand new unused SwissGear Synergy backpack ($100 new) for $7.99. I've since been going there more frequently. It's in a wealthier neighborhood so that is an obvious explanation.

PRINTERS - don't bother! Nobody wants a used printer. Too hard to box & ship. Will it work? Probably will get busted up during shipping. Expensive to ship.
Dingle Dangle Ding Dong even there done that lmao
rather stick with ink lol right
Some Goodwills ARE higher than the mall!
Here's a tip for looking at ebay for past sales... don't trust the price in green. Click on the actual listing, and then you can see what it actually sold for. I'm not sure if you can do this on the app, but you can definitely do it on the web. The thing is, if I have a "good til cancelled" listing and I sell 1 or 2 quantity of the listing for 2.99 - the next day I can change the price to $100 and the green sold price will sold $100. So, it's a bit flawed of a system when you see something selling for a high amount and get all excited... be cautious.
What I hate is finding Pyrex bowl or other dishes that are collectable and they've priced them with a sharpie on the bottom.
As a rule of thumb I stay away from printers; most of the time when they end up at a thrift its because they don't work correctly anymore.
agreed
That or replacement ink cartridges end up costing almost as much as the printer itself.
Local thrift store where I live gives me printers. The ones I buy, I never pay more than a buck for.
I picked up an HP Office Jet 8600 at the Goodwill for $25. They said it would turn on but wouldn't print. They didn't realize it was wireless too, and it was set up to only print via wireless. It also had no ink cartridges...which..duh...you have to check for them before you even try to print. I took it home...after going by Office Depot to buy some in for it...set it up properly...and have been using it for about 6 months now! It copies, scans, faxes, prints photographs...one hell of a good printer for the $25 plus ink.
@@larryd4352 Yeah some people just don't understand technology. I love getting my hands on stuff that people return only to find out it works perfectly or as intended.
Great guy and concept but the fast moving and jittery camera makes my headache
Only junk in goodwill..very disappointed lately.....
Sux4you
Just look up smith corona type writer sold on eBay $64.00 good find
I've found Calvin Klein pants, Michael Kors and hugo boss lately, and a few 1990 toys. But I mainly go to my local unique thrift store for the toys because some are collector toys. I found a playmates star trek ship like 22 inches of length that sells up to $40 used in Ebay
Ok
Why are you not an actor. You could easily be in movies with your looks.
I bought a nice new North Face Backpack, it had a compressed down jacket in it. Inside the pocket of the jacket was a new wedding ring set. I bought the backpack with all it's contents for $2.00. I sold the rings for $375. The jacket for $40 and I gave the backpack to my wife.
Ken what a steal
Ken I found business cards in a jacket once lol...
I found condoms in a pocket, gave them to my 98 year old grandma. She has a boyfriend
Score!!!
that is sweet! some bonehead got drunk and forgot to propose hahaha!
I was a manager at Goodwill, they now look up prices on ebay (started a few years ago) if they think they can make more money on an item, they will send it to their shopgoodwill-dot-com online store. They mainly put out the junk in the store now. There goal is to make more money for the people who own Goodwill. It is a business for profit NOT to help the community! They DONT help as many people as you think. We had only 2 disabled people working at our store and Goodwill only payed about $2 per hour of their money, YOU the tax payer PAYS THE REST !!!! They have a few handicapped people around just for show. They treat their Employees like slaves, they treat them like criminals. The Managers watch the cameras most of the time to try and catch Employees stealing. I never saw any Employees stealing, it was mainly the public. People also swapped the price tags around. It is 2018 now I stay in touch with my friends who still work there, they said the donations have dropped by 50% because of competition. I say it is because people are finding out they are a PHONY organization!!! You can still find a bargain every now and then. Their competition is better.................
thanks for letting me know so i won't take anything else to Goodwill!
Sounds like you’ve never worked at a goodwill. I’m calling bullshit that you were a “manager”. If you really worked at goodwill you wouldn’t have said anything you just said. Completely wrong.
@@FiftyCal23 its probably different at every goodwill, just like some Home Depots are good and others have crappy management, every town and store is different no matter the goal of corporate.
I believe that..
I knew it! 😠
That print isn’t worth shit... you people just need to trade derivatives this is wayyyyy to much work
dude...you are laid back...i love it
It completely depends upon the area and source of the Goodwills stock. Location Location Location. In lower middle class areas, Goodwill is loaded with comparative garbage.
That monopoly game looked older than Methuselah
Surprisingly I have had some good luck flipping monopoly games! They always seem to sell for me.
I have found that most electronics are shit that's why they were donated
I didnt even think they took that in my area you have to go to recycler and leave at the electronic spot
I was the eCommerce manager for Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette here in Portland, OR. We sold collectibles and used books online for about $12 million a year. Had about 80 employees. This video brings back some memories!! You got a great eye. =)
skate 2 is a million times better than skate 3 what are you doing
Not price wise
Goodwill is not second hand anything. Too expensive
Goodwill sucks price wise. They know what they have and price the good stuff accordingly.
lol they made shopgoodwill.com for that too
Printers are always coming out better and cheaper. Not my kind of item, but you're a bigger seller than me
Hi 700 comment
that mantle clock inside case if it was a Seth Thomas could bring good money if price is right to purchase
Such a rookie. Dude god bless If you score a $2,000 on a hunt...but be honest without cell service you're only watching knowledgeable tubers. Why would a billion dollar company put an app on their site so you can take the sale?
Such a polite man
Poloroid worth $2
I hit the Goodwill's up Ridesharing. Check it out! I get 8-10 items a day doing it.
Man I wish I found that camera. Those r back in style and people pay good money for the retro ones
Seriously. I was thinking no one would be interested. First of all it's so easy to print your own pics with the latest technology and a digital camera. Secondly can you even buy the film for one of those old poloroid cameras?
+Jack Robinson I imagine the film is very expensive
I just watched the Netflix show "13 Reasons Why" and it features a polaroid camera as part of the plot. I was like, "Where are they getting the film for that thing? And everybody has smartphones, too?" Cool see them using the old tech, though. I think a company does make the film now, but not Polaroid. I think I donated a Polaroid camera 10 years ago, come to think of it.
@ Lloyd: Scalpers know that… hence why they grab it where ever they find them -.-
You can buy film online
Goodwill, GREAT quality! And we would have grabbed the SP too. >>> DS
the SP was such an awesome system. I played mine for years!
Those typewriters go for like $50 each
The problem with the printer is that you don't know if it would work...and, shipping is extremely expensive anymore.
Nice video, what camera are you using?
Reezy Resells Canon G7X
you sound like Mordaci from regular show. You need a rigby
What is you camera you shot a video with? The quality is superior.
On printer: d = duplex printing and w= wireless
Just went yesterday and bought a complete rc boat...retails for $175..got it for $16...I love the hunt..going to Savannah GA super Goodwill on Thursday
keep making videos and all these places are going to keep raising their prices lmao
I usually google the items on the spot to see if it’s worth purchasing.
I just started thrifting, was and still am dabbling in dropshipping on ebay but looking for items in real life is more exciting :-)
Mmmm Westport Goodwill awesome you caught the kid acting up on camera. Stopped going because I'm either surrounded by professional eBayers, you know those who throw things in their carriage to later put back after they decide they cannot resell something you know the type eh? That and kids running rampant as their stuck up parents let them run around breaking everything on the shelves.
Westport CT? Haven’t been there in long while it it is CT?
I buy my wardrobe at goodwill and drapes. Never sold online lots of people I guess are doing it
Yeah Its CT. alright. I buy art and it was a place to look and waste some time. Being Westport at times the artwork available is of a higher quality than other locations. When its not broken from being handled mostly by unattended children.
Did I mention the unattended children and people at times 5 strong blocking others from looking until they get a chance to google everything.
Hey, so here is what I base my Ebay business off of. 1. Pendleton shirts, vintage not new ones. 2. Keen boots/hiking sandals/steel toes. 3. Saladmaster pans. 4. Duluth trading company jeans.
If you get skate 2 and 3 I'll pay u 15 for each, I been looking for a used version of those games I used to own them but they never worked.
I hope you picked up that Brother Printer....used they are going from $200-275 all day! That was a freeking steal at $35!
I miss thrifting in CT. Im in South FL now and Goodwill's are not as plentiful here.
Gucciwill 😮
GUCCI
2:22 Yoo i know im not trippin or that gurl just jump from the top Shelf!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol, yup. Kids always climbing stuff.
Used pritners, really? I'm a computer repair technician, and printers are all made pretty crappy, plastic oarts inside that cannot be replaced if broken. Most printers are pretty cheap brand new. It is often cheaper, in fact, to buy a brand new printer with full ink cartirdges..that to just replace the ink cartridges for the printer you already have. Buying a working used printer, may be more expensive that buying a new one, because of the cost of the ink separately. If I were to buy a used printer, it would have to a multifunction printer, that was dirt cheap to compensate for the ink cost, as well as testing it out to make sure it is fully functional before buying. Though, if it were a good deal, I would never considr it for selling online...as the weight of any printer would cost so much in Shipping and Handling costs...that you would also have to take this into consideration, and not be able to "price to sell' and still be able to make any kind of profit from it. If you make $5-$10 bucks, you may want to look at all of the time you put into the item...and see how much you really made "per hour" to seel this item. Light weight items are the best to sell online, and if you are selling tech stuff, you don't want a bunch of older outdated technology liek the 2 small pritners on this video.
I agree good will is expensive now and they have posting the things more values in Ebay and offer up . They are doing their business I found it this year.
I just sold a Gameboy sp with 4 games for 100$
PeggerHut wow congrats someone WAY overpaid for that
depends on the games
PeggerHut wtf 100 for a sp, here in mexico you can buy them for a fucking 300 pesos, wich is 17 dollars lolololol.
Probably about right if it's an AGS-101 model with the backlit screen and if it had good games like any of the pokemon games with it.
Geez why do people pay so much for these old Game Boys? It's not even worth 50 bucks. Any Nintendo DS lite is more useful and better at playing GBA games. Especially for the better Display. With an SP you never know what you get.
Right, good luck on that printer that has been probably sitting around in someone's dusty, dirty home or office for years. Unless you are a professional coping refurbishing expert, you'll probably lose your ass and get stuck with hassles of disgruntled buyers and then have them want you to pay for return shipping costs!!! That's the reality of selling items online that isn't working correctly or guaranteed to work. But i suppose there's always a stooge out there willing to roll the dice. Good luck cause you're gonna need it.
There's not a big profit buying at Goodwill. They are extremely over priced. Think of it,they pay nothing for what they sell.
singer sewing machine, ive heard they are very good (they are depending on the model) but i have no way of testing it! (ummmm...im just gonna throw this out there...how about plug it in, place scrap of material under the foot/needle, thread machine and put foot on foot peddle not forgetting to switch it on.) its not exactly rocket science
Your laces will get all wet & gross. And you'll trip over them. When you talk about getting ungrateful or restricted is that an Amazon thing?
Look for cartridges online. If they still sell cartridges. It is probably worth buying this printer. Because somebody that has it will be willing to replace theirs, if their model has any issue.
Just had this video suggested. I’ve been watching your vids for years. 400k+ views on this one, wow! Your videos are always great. Cheers
Yeah pretty insane! I have 1 that has just over 500,000 as well :)
Most of the stuff i see in glass cases they're trying to sell for double the price of ebay, then you find a 70 $ sealed board game for 2 $ sitting ontop of a pile of used barbies in a corner. Goodwil Stonks
Hi just subscribed, love someone making an honest profit got to say I would have left those electric typewriters too and the big brother printer they can be a lot of bother. Must add that thrift store is bloody massive.
I love people watching at thrift shops it’s better than Walmart
I love thirfting and watching videos on thirfting ❤️
I like thrift stores. However, People donate mostly to just rid of their crap. And better to help someone than to go into landfill sites.
So why is it that staff seem to be the first pickers through the stuff ??? And then the remainder is so overpriced not helping the needy at all.
Great video, I like that you keep it real and IMO are very relatable. Gonna peep your other stuff! Do you do mainly FBA or EBay? Thanks!
Im mainly FBA. Thanks for checking out the channel.
Nothing like shopping around Goodwill listening to Billy joel
Watch out for huge printers!!! It will cost more than its value to ship!
*picks up a used plastic fork
Thrift school: yeah I heard these did pretty good I have to check
In my city, they jack up the prices on anything they know is valuable.
thats why i go to the other thrifts where i have friends working there...
Have you thought about stealing from goodwill
over priced every thing..
hi there. just wondering why u don't test the stuff that u would buy before paying for them. stay safe.
I hate how Hoodwilly gets everything for free and then has the nerve to price whatever they want based on brand etc. Crooked as hell.
What's the name of that app you use to check out sold prices?
Goodwills in your area seemed to be priced kinda high.
This video is now obsolete considering Goodwills new pricing policy. Great while it lasted but it's done now. $14.95 for a broken lamp..jeeez.
Yes J
In my area no more 50% off items all items r now standard pricing. I wonder will all GWill malls follow suite???
You won't find good stuff at Goodwill because they hire someone to sell the good stuff online.
Dan I always wondered if they did this.
You can find some valuable glass and bottles at Goodwill, but of course you have to know what's you're looking for and most people don't have a clue about antique glass. More for me.
Sometimes silver as well look out for those
I just moved, I need the Farberware! Grab it! 😂
Could you please stop Filming and driving at the same time?
That’s Torrington ct isn’t it? If next store is little Caesar pizza
Where is the profit you made lol.
Can you get film for that camera? I don't think so.
GET THE PRINTER FOR GOD'S SAKE.
Do you thrift everyday? Or does youtube ad revenue help out to?
Man i would offer 10$, I found XBOX 360s and ps3 at yard sale ranging 10-30$ Scored an Xbox One this Summer with 2 controllers Kinect thingy and games for $60. Nice video.
I found some Hot Wheels Solid Gold Editions and also Treasure Hunt Series worth $180
Slobbish behaviour not tie-ing shoe laces! Supposed to be educated. Perhaps no self respect. Just suggesting.
im such a slob
I looked up the farberware pots and pans you said you didn’t know anything about. They are selling pretty well on eBay
In general Faberware pots and pans are low end.
Is that the best cart you could pick? 😂
the goodwills near me are like less than half the size of this one
Man you're lucky your goodwill is so big. It looks like a freaking antique mall! Mine is really small (like the size of the average giftshop) and it makes it hard to find items because they have to keep switching out items all the time from lack of room. Not to mention it's really cramped and always lots of people in your way.
Thanks for the video...hopefuly lots of people watch this and stop donating. There are plenty of real charitys out there you can donate to... who wont use your donations to turn a profit and make themselves rich!!
Goodwill has gotten pretty greedy lately, its a shame
If that brother printer had a good rank and there was nobody else on the listing i would pick it up. did you get it? you never said in the video. also, can you do a video or include in a video about your amazon business. I am curious to know how many shipments you send to amazon a month, how many items you usually ship at a time to amazon, how many items you have or try to have on amazon at any given time. You can also talk about your sales numbers if you want, but if not i understand. I dont know if you have already done a video about this or not. If you have i am sorry for not realizing it.
Wtf that printer will cost a fortune to ship
