    Hey bud I'm trying to break these 2 allen bolts loose off the pipe but they're welded stuck with rust. How can I remove them? I have a leak in that pipe and urgently need to take it off. What would you do?

    • @torque-it-up5621

      Hey there, well firstly I would remove every component around it to get as much room as possible to work on, so the heat shield, front water pipe/hoses out the way and radiator fan if needed.
      For the bolts, get Allen key tool with a decent tight fit and either a good size spanner or suitable metal pipe to go on end for leverage. A hammer and small chisel may help to break the rust by firm taps around the bolts. May be use Wd40 at same time. I would try those methods first.

      @@torque-it-up5621 Thanks for your reply. I was thinking I might have to remove half the radiator and pipes round that area to give more room to work with. What you recommend is good. I've just realised I've got a manual impact driver that I hardly used. Think that will 100% break them loose with ease. Few cracks of hammer on end of impact driver and they should come loose what u reckon? Looks like I'll have to do it tomorrow now

    • @javaidsadiq5775
      @javaidsadiq5775 4 года назад

      I think with manual impact driver you don't even have to break the rust away and dnt even need wd40. Just straight impact driver and hammer and jobs done. That's what I'm hoping anyway because they're great tools that most people don't have in their toolbox and they should have

    • @torque-it-up5621
      @torque-it-up5621  4 года назад

      Yes impact driver method should work nicely, aslong as there's enough room to get driver in position and hammer space.

    How did you gain access? I've got a solid pipe in the way and cannot access any bolts to move it or get to this part....

    • @torque-it-up5621
      @torque-it-up5621  Год назад +1

      Hey there, yes the solid pipe your referring to is the front coolant pipe, and that has to be removed to gain better access to the EGR pipe. Though if I remember correctly, there's 3 bolts fixing the coolant pipe to the engine to the left side, near Cambelt case, 3 hoses to remove, 1 middle and 2 on the right. 1 or 2 bracket bolts. Be warned, it is time consuming!

      Hi there, sorry for late response. My engine in the video is the zafira B model (2005-2014), so I believe many of the engine parts are the same. But its always worth checking with correct information, to be 100% sure with parts!

      That egr pipe is the exact same as my 2008 Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD. Same location same Allen bolts everything is the same so I guess its the same as your 2010

      Faizan Ajaz - For a part number to round gasket, probably best go to Vauxhall dealer with the pipe to show, and they should have the part number on computer.

    I've got a 1.9 cdti it's been blanked off at the top under rocker cover ,and remapped but I have a loud hissing noise and got told it's not been blanked off where you just took the pipe off causing hissing ? Is this true and do I need to blank it off to stop hissing ... thanks

    • @torque-it-up5621
      @torque-it-up5621  5 лет назад +1

      G G Well on my engine I've only blanked it off at the EGR valve and seems to work. If there's a hissing around the pipe in the video, it's possible that any gasket or o-ring is worn or got a hole. Worn surfaces on the pipe, or loose fixings.
