Driveshaft Bolt Tighten, Wheel Hub/Bearing #3
One of the tightest bolts on a car, is the driveshaft bolt, or nut, on some cars. Using the home-made tool and torque wrench I used is the recommended way to tighten up the bolt, although some have been known to fit the wheel, lower car then tighten bolt.

Rustic/Seized Wheel Bearing removed, New Bearing set-up #2
Просмотров 343 года назад
After unseizing and removing the Hub/bearing from video #1, I cleaned up the bearing seating with a wire brush, general lubricant and rag, ready for new bearing. When fitting 3 new fixing bolts for Hub/bearing, the driveshaft stub can be pushed to one side for each bolt fitted. For top bolt, I used small extension bar with spline socket.

Depending how the job is done using handtools, can dictate how much time it can take. Not mention in video, but do remove the ABS sensor wire before any hammer usage. Because of loose rust, safety glasses recommended!

    The most important thing is the position that the fan comes out!!!! And back in! As @g0bzy said, there is a relay box, for Automatic AC, that must first come out of the fan, prior to remove it. It is a little tricky because you can break the plastic clamp that fix this box on the fan. But if you replace the fan with a new one, there is no problem: the new fan comes with a new clamp on it! But, as I said, THE POSITION FOR THE FAN REMOVAL is the great, great thing for this post! Thank you, TORQUE!

    Would you say this is required if a new egr valve doesnt cure the p0400 code (egr flow) or would you start with the metal pipe coming from the exhaust manifold first?

    • @torque-it-up5621
      @torque-it-up5621 8 месяцев назад

      Well in basic terms, from the info I went through at the time, the engine(s) has been designed to recirculate burnt gases back through system. So over time is how the soot and sludge bulits up in the manifold. That's the government's way! Block the egr valve off, use dpf cleaner every so often, and keep your engine running cleaner for your benefit. That's my way! The p0400 code will show, but shouldn't be a problem for performance.

    • @torque-it-up5621

      Hey there, well firstly I would remove every component around it to get as much room as possible to work on, so the heat shield, front water pipe/hoses out the way and radiator fan if needed. For the bolts, get Allen key tool with a decent tight fit and either a good size spanner or suitable metal pipe to go on end for leverage. A hammer and small chisel may help to break the rust by firm taps around the bolts. May be use Wd40 at same time. I would try those methods first.

    • @javaidsadiq5775

      I think with manual impact driver you don't even have to break the rust away and dnt even need wd40. Just straight impact driver and hammer and jobs done. That's what I'm hoping anyway because they're great tools that most people don't have in their toolbox and they should have

    • @torque-it-up5621

The width of the key is most important, 3mm maybe? 5-6mm long? Not sure about an alternative because the nut needs to be tight enough not to loosen when operating.
