I've ridden it for four years, gets better as the trail crew works hard to make it a very flowing trail. It's not that hard if you have decent shocks, and have skied the area so you respect the vertigo effect. No rush down, as the vistas and access to gullies, the Black Forest and behind the top of Mid Gad top lift will have you hooting at the views. The rider in the video was flat out smoking, way harder than skiing flat out top to bottom, he knew what to expect, when to back off, when to just go for it. There are 'pull outs' as in wide cat tracks if you break down on the lower half about Mile 4, just take it slow as the vertical is still in place. You don't want to bushwack /free form off the trail, you won't get cliffed out, but the roads are slippery. From Mid Gad Restaurant you could do Big Emma Road to Fluffy Bunny and rejoin the Big Mtn trail top of Wilbere. The Big Mtn is a safe trail in that you can see and be seen, but you might ride miles alone. Check your bike well before boarding the Tram as this trail will test your bike if you haven't maintained it and you won't like the long walk home. Roots, rocks, surprises await. The weather can change incredibly fast up high, any light jacket would help in an extended Rocky Mtn downpour. I wouldn't recommend sending rookies down Peruvian Valley, that road is a pure brakefest. Meet the rookies at the Tram Club patio for a beer instead. Have them Tram up, brown bag it outside Hidden Peak Restaurant, or buy finger food inside and enjoy the view, download on the Tram and live to ride another day. The other option is Tram, down Lupine Lupe, up to the Alta Saddle, from there you can choose Collins or Albion down, return to Snowbird on the highway. Aug 12 for 12 weekends is Oktoberfest so plan around that for parking, walk on Tram rides. Riders get on the Tram first, stack the bikes in one corner, but there is a chance you'll miss a Tram as the foot passengers have rights too, especially if its 100 ppl for a wedding up top.
Singletracks & Whiskey Rode it last year and wanting to try again. I did it in the mid 40 minutes, but I crashed once. That one hurt. Still, it was fun.
Even at the end of the Summer they put some big hip jumps in (with ridearounds) just before Rothman's Way. SB also did some stuff I don't like, they put a bunch of speed bumps in on Baby Thunder, not sure why they did that.
Phenomenal trail , great ride and production

+John Dubock Awesome stuff John! Thank you for sharing.
looks chill and fun, easier than pedaling 8 miles up hill.
It’s a hell of a ride and it gets better every season!
I'm disabled, so I live vicariously through people like you, thank you. There's some wheelchair friendly trails around SLC I would like to check out.
Jordon River parkway Trail, It's nothing like the ski resorts but there is some very beautiful scenery.
@@suttercane129 yeah, that's one I want to check out. I think it's something like 20 miles long.
Just got a new bike looking forward to shredding this! Thanks for the insight
I’m excited to see what additions they make this year!
Looks like a ton of fun. I think I skied there back in the 80s. Maybe. Lol.
Great video. That trail looks epic!
Thank you! It's a hell of a ride.
Is this downhill only or can you bike up as well? Are there better routes up to hidden peak by bike?
This was the first trail i ever mountain biked down. I was crapping myself most of the way
😂 not the best one to cut your teeth on.
Awesome trail... it would be my first mountain bike trail.. is it good for beginners?.. I would go way slower then you amigo
Great video.
Thanks James!
Amazing how much snow the twin peaks still have
i f*cking love that trail and snowboarding at snowbird
Hoping to try it this coming week. I don't have the best joints, so I hope I can do it. Been wanting to try it.
+John None plenty of spots to take a break; gorgeous trail to take it easy on as well. Give her hell!

Such a unique trail, exhausting and a lot of fun.
Hoping to get to it next year after having a year under my belt, and a bigger bike...
They'll rent you a Santa Cruz 5010 or a Bronson at the Snowbird Center as well.
SB Crew did an amazing job in 2017 improving BMT
Really did. Can't wait to see what changes they make next year.

Snowbird is on the list after this kne
🤞 we see it open this season
haha that grouse got me
Little fella was running for his life
I feel like if a grouse doesn’t run in front of you while riding in the Wasatch, did you really ride the Wasatch?
Yea, burly trail. Didn't get to it this year. Great job.
sadly (at least for mtb'ing)... winter is coming...
Singletracks & Whiskey Yea, last year I didn't get a pass, same this year.. So it'll probably be a good snow year up there again.
Nice ride bro
Next time increase your speed
Regards
Progression is the goal! Thanks!

+Nathan Scadlock I tell you, I ran into droves of those birds on that trail that day and can proudly say they all survived.
