Looks beautiful. My only request for second life would be some sort of meta pre-load object loading manager that would order the closest objects to you to load first... Prioritizing loading objects that your Avatar Sees... Should be some sort of code to load what your are looking at, it seems some objects just take longer to load than others... which makes sense. But sometime forests are loaded all around, while I stand there waiting for the cup of tea and other little objects in front of me are loading last... waiting for those little things to Rez into their beautiful shapes and colors seems soo 1900s now ? :-)
Well done again, Boston ! The switch, for me, from "windlights" to "EEP" was more confusing than it should have been. Your video is great for new users and veterans alike.
Boston and Second Life University, this has been a surprise for me. Thank you so much! I couldn't be more grateful for this. ☁Thank you , thank you and thank you!! ☁ Hugs, Jay.
Great explanations and content. I've been using Windlight and didn't know about the newer format or day cycles, can't wait to get back to my parcel and play around. Great looking AV by the way. Thanks for the help
EEP is great! Bangup job by the Lab. It really changed everything for the better in SL. Next step: Updating the region terrain texture settings. It's so outdated and limited ;)
I note you don't explain My Environments in the Environments drop-down menu which you pin near the beginning? It appears to be an alternative way to using these like in the inventory settings?
Hi Boston, I've had a lot of fun playing around with this since seeing your video and I purchased the Battlescar clouds, which are great. I've managed to create a nice transition between settings but is there a limit to the keyframes you can create in the day cycle? I would create a keyframe, adjust the setting and create a new keyframe and it would knock the previous one out. Didn't happen every time though, Just curious. Regardless, I've really enjoyed this feature I didn't even know about and now my skies are very dramatic. Thank you, great tutorial.
Good video but still very confusing I'm trying to switch from firestorm to the official style viewers and LL seem to have chosen the route most complicated Firestorm environment controls are easy to access and simple to change presets
Great video and an excellent explanation of a difficult topic. I notice from you sky/water settings that the issue of the water reflection not changing with the sunset......ie the reflections on the water are only white. The vivid sunsets with orange and red reflections from the setting sun on the water have been gone in the last two versions of SL Viewer and Firestorm. Any chance LL is working on this issue?
Another useful info shared by Sensei! I never knew about the cycles and that we can create our own environment! I would definitely give it a shot and of course, gonna follow what you did in this video :) Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! *throws all the thumbs i can get* 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hey Mark, glad you discovered the Battlescar skies. I don't think there's any limit to the keyframes - perhaps it's a bug. I hope you got it sorted!
Great job on the video -- and at showing how beautiful and varied SL can be! 🌅
Thank you! This was a fun one to produce :D

Thank you Nigel! Perhaps we’ll do more in this series of enhancing your environment 😊
This was very very helpful thank you Boston! I will be using your tips to make my sim be more immersive and my SL experience too.. thank you from Nena
That’s awesome, I’m glad it was helpful! ☺️
Nice video!!!
Thank you! 😊
Handy, but when I try to copy skies to my inventory, they fail, the folders are empty, cut & past does nothing.
Have you tried it in a different viewer?
Does anyone have instructions to copy an EEP from a sim?
And now we have to redo all of our EEPs all over again due to PBR...
thank you thank you
Thank you Tina!
