One item that is frequently overlooked, but bears mentioning when talking about EEP and photography. On the World > Environment menu is the "Pause Clouds" option. This will freeze the clouds and water in place until it is deselected. So, if you have a scene where the cloud formations perfectly frame the sun, you don't have to worry about losing the shot. It is also useful if you are shooting a panorama and want the sky and ocean to stitch together correctly. Also, the "Beacon" check boxes for the sun and the moon are useful for locating both bodies in the sky if you are having trouble finding them.
Awesome tips - thanks for sharing! Pause Clouds is definitely a good one to use once you have a preferred formation. I have found that the beacon lines are sometimes difficult to decipher but perhaps I'm a little blind 😵
Thank you so much. I found this very clear and informative... big help as I’ve been playing around with EEP for only a couple of weeks and pulling my hair out. 👍🏻😊. You have a new sub !
Well ty for this, me & my momma been going nutz lol. This will help bit more. She wanted a specific like hazy look to her land but wanted day & nite to continue so when midnite it dark. It kept locking in only on the hazy part couldn't get the day to nite to work. So now maybe we can get it lol.
Haha I know the feeling of losing patience with the sky editor sometimes 😏 I may even do a separate video just on fixed day cycles, but hopefully this helps!
Hey! I had to take that one down because there was a bug in the viewer which I was waiting for FS to fix. The day settings weren’t working correctly for me. I’ll look into it again. You can also join the inworld firestorm group - they seem pretty helpful whenever I’ve asked a question
Hi there, thanks for the great tutorial. I was just wondering, I own a region and want to change the EPP so when people visit they can see the settings. Do I change them on the Region - environment, or the Parcel - environment? And is there a way to set it up so people see it automatically when they visit? Thanks again for your great video.
@@BostonB thank you so much for writing me back. I had set Parcel to same as region but it wasn't working so I thought I was doing something wrong, but as soon as I had more than 1 parcel it worked. Very strange! I am having issues now with my sand being over exposed, everything else in the scene is great but I can't seem to figure out what is making the sand so bright. I have the sun off to the side, my exposure isn't too high. I have tried hundreds of different colors but nothing changes it. Such a learning curve but I am creating some cool cycles. Thanks for your tutorial!
Could you please make a tutorial on how to achieve a triple zoom into the picture when you upload it? Like how to get it to zoom into the smallest details when uploaded on flikr
Hey I'm not sure what you mean...You can use Ctrl+0 to zoom in on your viewer and Ctrl+8 to zoom out. For Flickr, if you export the picture at 4k or 5k resolution, it will zoom into the small details - I think maybe that's what you mean?
Hi mate. Was curious as to where you got this shirt from? I've been trying to find one like it with the undershirt but can't seem to. I'd really appreciate any advice! Cheers
Hey Ryan, it was a while ago that I produced that video but I think the shirt was from Chuck Size. Check out their mainstore - they have lots of shirts like that!
Ive noticed in the newer Firestorm updates, the selection of windlight configurations have been reduced.. even manually copying the missing windlight files from a previous version of Firestorm doesn't re add the ones missing..
- inserts..... I have been trying😂😂 not I have trying😅🤦♀️ And your vids are really helpful, you explain things sooooo damn good my 10 yr old even knows how to work "BOM and windlight" keep up the good work 🙃
Hey! Please do the parcel one! I am struggling with the different levels and how to apply different EEP's to different heights and I am not finding a tutorial to help!
Hey! I encountered some of the same issues with applying different eep’s to different altitudes. They weren’t setting. But my friends don’t seem to have any problems with it. So I’m going to figure that out before I produce a part 2! My next video is a Black Dragon walkthrough tutorial :)
@@BostonB Thank you!! I subbed so I will be on the look out for it. I mean I can apply to the whole parcel, but where is the fun in that. Thanks for the tutorial though. It did help.
Hmm where are you looking? I’ve actually had a weird issue where my avatar hasn’t been loading for the last couple of days. May be completely unrelated to your issue. When I’m next online I’m going to clear my cache and retry
I have always had mine set to Nam's prim and skin but a couple weeks back, it disappeared and now I don't have any options other than "shared environment". Did something untick? I have checked all over the place and can't figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated!
I cover it in a more recent video here: ruclips.net/video/nXcghPjJQ84/видео.html You can also keep the transparency on normal and increase the glow if you want the prim to be visible
Hey - thanks for the comment! I actually started filming a Day Cycle video but there’s a bug on my Firestorm UI which means the cycles aren’t running smooth. So I’ve contacted them and I’m waiting for them to release a fix before I publish the video.
@@JaiHarlemPhresh Thanks Dude! The day-cycle issue only seems to be affecting me. My friends haven't reported any problems. Anyway later today I'm publishing a video on Men's Shapes and Skin's so check it out ;)
I don't think you can save other regions windlights anymore. I think they wanted to protect people's creations, so you're encouraged to create and edit your own windlights. But if you have permission to the parcel, you can easily save it through 'About Land'.
Did you follow the instructions from the vid? Right click your toolbar and then drag the “environment editor” button from the options. Without seeing your screen, that’s the only advice I can give
I’m not psychic, I don’t know what happened to Yours lol. Are they in your library? Did you back up? If something weird happened during the update, you could try bulk importing them all again. Search ‘Firestorm EEP’ on marketplace. Somebody has put them all on there for free. And you just add as on object. Yesterday I had to reimport some to Black Dragon because they were weirdly missing. I guess with thousands of downloads there’s bound to be some software glitches
@@BostonB Yeah it's weird, the default windlights that SL gives you have the sun or moon completely off in the midday/sunrise/sunset windlights and the midnight windlight but new custom ones don't let you turn one or the other off it seems. The workaround I did was copying the default midnight windlight to edit it without the sun, perhaps it wasn't necessary but I just updated viewers so I was pretty confused and the sun being active was conflicting with my night-time windlight lol
