It's sad to think that Nessa didn't want Elphaba to go find Fiyero not because she cared about her sister's good, but because it was "better" for her if Fiyero married Glinda, so Boq would lose hope and wouldn't leave her side.😢😢
Yeah to me it’s a very serious scene/bittersweet. Nessa gains control over her legs at last then Boq leaves her 😢 I felt awful for her in this scene when I watched the London production as a kid.
considering you're already here i'm not going to protect you from spoilers. she becomes a witch in the sense that she's an awful leader to the munchkin people, strips them of their rights to make sure that Boq doesn't leave her side, and then fails to use the Grimmerie to curse him into loving her, which forces Elphaba to use magic to save him. Nessarose is not a magical witch like Elphaba but she is a wicked witch that blames Elphaba for her own mistakes and choices. She was fine in the first act, not a great sister but not necessarily evil, and hopefully the second part of the movie does her downfall more justice because we don't see it happen onstage too much.
