Okay first off you don't need to remove the serpentine belt to do this job. Second, you should never use a metal tool to pry the pan off or remove old gasket. Always use a plastic scraper or you can score the metal and could cause a leak. Third, where was the gasket? Take a gasket and apply and rub in a light layer of Oil Purpose RTV into it.
There is an actual gasket made to do this with. Using RTV sealant is the ghetto fix way to get cars back into your shop. Taking off unnecessary parts to do the job is what an actual dealership does to charge more money. Next video in this series shows how to safely drain and remove the fuel tank to change your battery.

just did this yesterday. no need to take the serp belt off to do this.
Amazing video. But no need to take the belt off. Did it without that step.
Very informative video with the bolt sizes and torque specs! Why must you remove/disconnect the serpentine belt?
That's what I thought. He removed the pan with nothing in the way. I looked at mine and I can get to the bolts no issue...
Why take the belt off? And thats not the 3.6L.
Hey it’s the guy from 1-A auto videos
Why did you need to take the serpentine belt off before removing the bracket, does it throw it off balance or something
Right he is stupid 😂
Huh
The reason why he remove the Serpentine belt make the video a little longer lol
So far the most informative. Clear explanations . Very easy to follow. Thanks.
Why did he take the belt off???
Question why is loosing up the serpentine belt necessary
Gotta go do 1A little bit later thanks for that Great video👊🏼✌🏼
Wonder what those black plugs I put my oil pan off and they were laying in the bottom then I was like oh s*** in my engine falling apart

What's that the oil pump covered by the pan?
You forgot to put on a splash guard underneath the motor
No silicone on the block and timing parts that meet?
Do you not need the gasket
Whenever possible always try to use sixpoint
What about the Gasket
I dislike that climate control commercial
This video is beyond wrong and unnecessary
how is it wrong?
@@soulbakin I’m not even a mechanic at all barely know anything, pretty sure I can crawl under my car and do this without removing the extra shit
