  • This Gravity Group wooden coaster packs quite a punch in a small footprint. Standing 83 feet (25m) tall with a top speed of 48.5 mph (78 km/h), the nearly 3,000 foot (914m) layout features a 65° drop, a 115° over-banked curve and a corkscrew inversion above the station!
    Check out the off-ride video we posted to see even more of what this thrilling coaster looks like: • Mine Blower 4K off-rid...

      Yeah, it is really rare. The only other ones I can think of are Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, Goliath at Six Flags Great America, Wildfire at Kolmarden, and Hades 360 at Mount Olympus.
      Of those, Hades 360 (and Mine Blower) were built by Gravity Group, while the other 3 were built by Rocky Mountain Construction using the topper track (as opposed to the all-steel I-Box track they use on most of their rollercoasters).

      No; It’s mostly wood. However the most important part (what would be the top two laminates on normal wooden track) is a steel structural element. So while it’s mostly wood by weight and volume, the wooden part is still something of an affectation.

    Just a warning for anyone planning to ride: This ride is quite rough, but i wouldn't say unbearably. It's a smoother ride in the front row, and the airtime very well counteracts the roughness, and if you can stand some roughness fine, you'll still like it.

    This ride destroys twisted cyclone. It's more comfortable, has less constraining seats, and a sweet layout built into a compact area. RMC this RMC that. And they pulled this and yes it has one inversion versus three (though some may say this has 2), but would you rather invert three times versus once or have a solid nice length ride? Heck I'd take this over Joker RMC and Goliath RMC too. Probably medusa steel coaster and storm chaser too. Heck, "converted" Hades 360 is better than 1/2 of them. Timberliner trains are great too-comfortable hold you in well but don't stop airtime, nothing breaking your legs, plenty of padding, etc. They should be on many more wooden coasters like The Voyage.

    • @TheLewistownTrainspotter8102
      @TheLewistownTrainspotter8102 6 лет назад

      Holiday World decided that the costs outweighed the benefits as far as The Voyage was concerned, and probably wanted to save costs, which is easier to do when all three wooden roller coasters have the same model trains.

    Quite a roller coaster, and I love its compact but potent layout!
    Rides like this, along with Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas and Outlaw Run at SVC in Branson, have taught me to rate a roller coaster NOT by size, height, speed, length, or number of inversions (if any) - but by performance exclusively!
    I've ridden several fun roller coasters over the years, both large and small, and I learned this kind of respect and how to rate them about 20 years ago - when I rode the Shock Wave for the first time. In those days, the then 21-year-old Shock Wave (now 41) outperformed the older version of Texas Giant by a LONG SHOT!! The reason why? It may look tame, but those 70-foot-tall double loops are able to pull 5.9 G's! I kid you NOT!!! The ride quality is also still as smooth as can be, even after 41 years of service.
    The last time I ever rode the Texas Giant, it was back in 2001 and obviously BEFORE they revised and reintroduced it 9 and 10 years later - respectively. The ride quality was SO DOGGONE violent and bumpy, that afterwards it made me feel like I had been clobbered by a gang of thugs! I felt the same way after riding BGW's Loch Ness Monster as well. My lower back was very sore after riding that one just twice!

    • @crooked-halo
      @crooked-halo 3 года назад

      Interesting to hear praise of Shock Wave. I rode it in 78 when it opened & it's still as smooth as it was then. One of the greatest, most intense steel coasters among the 324 I've ridden (132 wood). Shock Wave's loops are crazy strong & fun as you said, but the drops, ALL OF THEM, have some of the most insane airtime I've ever experienced. Shock Wave is a fabulous, very under-appreciated and under-rated steel coaster. I love it & live 30 min from there. Rode it 3 weeks ago. Can't wait for Prairie Screamer to open 20 min away in the Fall!

    They say this coaster goes upside down twice. I only see one inversion on this coaster. How can there be two?

    • @jackcunningham4820
      @jackcunningham4820 5 лет назад +3

      Mitchell Ries they might count 1:15 as an inversion

    • @crooked-halo
      @crooked-halo 3 года назад

      It does not go upside down twice. There's only one inversion. An inversion is 180 degrees from horizontal.

    • @oneandonlysound3453
      @oneandonlysound3453 2 года назад

      It doesn't put like other "questionable" inversions like how an immelman turn isn't a loop, they count the moment around 1:15 as a second one in some circles. An overseas park claims it. In reality, it isn't, but when riding it does feel like your almost there. It certainly adds to the ride experience a lot in the very least.

    If this have Corkscrew inversion, It would looks similar to Rocky Mountain's Roller Coaster since it's also have that effort and that almost makes me confused of that inversions ever since I saw the video of Inverted Corkscrew Wooden Coaster like Hades from Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin, USA and Jungle Trailblazer from Fantawild, China, Well not Son of Beast from Kings Island since the inversions is not exactly the same as this one.

    Show some respect Fun Spot. Either do NOT fly the flags at all or send someone up to replace the raggedy ones.

    • @oneandonlysound3453
      @oneandonlysound3453 2 года назад

      At least they do it, they don't replace them with advertisement flags or tear them down altogether. Also they do replace them, just not often enough really. Which is odder when it's Fun Spot and they tend to repaint or renovate rides (and coasters) a lot. It seems like you can't ever go without one thing being closed under renovation/paint job/etc. Yet the bumper cars at both parks are low-level fair quality while they have others that aren't even made anymore looking new.
