What's amazing about this is that Jerry is a legend and many would say the same of Brian Regan. Brian Regan gave that guy on the staff the exact opposite advice on timing. Both comedians are geniuses and they gave opposite advice. Goes to show how much of comedy is art, which makes it highly subjective.
Jerry filmed an episode with Robert Klein in my current village of Ossining at the Landmark Diner, which just burned down last month. That was no joke.
That is sad about the Landmark Diner. What I love about that episode is that they go INTO the diner and each of them are drinking a Starbucks coffee -- which kind of defeats the purpose of going to a diner for coffee but it's also kind of funny.
It takes the average guy ten years to figure out "what this is" (i.e. marriage), and then you have to change and stop doing the things you shouldn't do in order to be the guy your wife wants you to be. Holy shit, never have truer words been spoken.
When you watch other interview shows you start to appreciate Howard Stern's skill more. Theres something about this set which is so sterile and uncomfortable (too open, too bright) and the questions are a bit dry and forced.
make uo a new guy to please your wife? Jesus, if that doesn't say it all about marriage. Happy wife happy life, to the point we have to do everything in our power, including becoming a different person, to please her. And in return she'll complain about everything you do
The greatest comedy shows that never get any respect were: 1) the original BOB NEWHART SHOW & 2) BUFFALO BILL, which was cancelled because it was incredibly Politically Incorrect (Brandon Tartikoff said cancelling BUFFALO BILL was the greatest mistake of my life!).
"Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" doesn't bring up any questions? Not all the guests have been comedians. Sometimes you go out for lunch instead of coffee. Sometimes it's not a car, but a van or motorcycles.
This is the first time I have seen Jerry Seinfeld seem a little in awe of someone. And Dan must of been pretty good at asking question because Jerry did not seem irritated at the questions. And if Jerry said your comedy bit was pretty good...your comedy was pretty good.
I completely disagree, I thought that Jerry was clearly amused by DP's moronic questions and the chemistry seemed completely off, you could tell that they were complete strangers even before Seinfeld mentioned that they'd never met
Make Jerry laugh and he is all yours! He is right, the married you around your wife n kids is a different you. When you are with your guy friends you behave more like one of the guys.

You see the way Seinfeld looks at that video, you can feel the decades of experience in comedy in his brain working on it.

Our favorite on Jerry Seinfeld’s show was the two times Alec Baldwin was on-hysterical!🎧
Awesome studio indeed.
I love Jerry! And the interview was different and pretty good!
until we heard his nonpandering, brutally honest crit.
I think Dan's pauses between answers threw Jerry off a bit and actually made it more interesting for me.
Dan is a listener.
Jerry is so right about marriage. I also got married at 45 (but it didn't last 14 years.) It was a learning experience for me
the secret to marriage is " Yes " .
Great tips from jerry in this interview about how to execute comedy

The reality is that the show was first done in England back around 2007 by a local comedian, Jerry probably bought the rights
Jerry's voice is kinda different then in the show but that makes sense actually haha
