I have an 04 WJ with a 4.7 with 09 cams and intake with my stock TB adapted to it. A 2.5" exhaust with a Dynomax Ultra Turbo and 3" tailpipe. I think the 5.3 sounds good, a big ball 4.0 sounds real mean, especially a stroked one. But I have people driving both those and others say mine sounds pretty good. I think of all of them it has the best high rpm sound. So I am going with the 4.7 as best sounding.

Current jeep is 98zj 5.2 249transfercase 3:73gears 2inch spacers just enough to run 31s, a daily that does get thrashed off road, 208k miles when acquired, have put 254k on since acquired
@@TheBest4x4Channel Why? i saw that 2.7 crd has around 163hp, 400nm torque at 1800rpm, while 4.0i has 187hp and 295nm torque at 3000rpm. And im really looking for fuel efficency and dont need those 4.0, 4.7 petrol beasts cuse i wont really be doing some insane offroading im planing like go mudding bit with friends, go on bit longer offroad runs, up to the mountians, little bit of rock climbing.
I have 4.7, my friend has a 5.2 it's funny, in this video 5.2 is the best, but in our experience, 4.7 is the king in high revs, 5.2 has the best grunt on idle. 5.9 takes that even further and 4.7 H.O. also even better in higher revs
@@neilgorman6502 i actually just picked up a 2000 GC with the 4.7. Bought it for next to nothing with a IRO 4” long arm lift still in the boxes. Pretty excited to build it up.

3.1 diesel was used on first half model years of WJ in EU, later 2.7 mercedez diesel was used.
2.7 has more power and is more reliable than 3.1
that motor is not sell it in america thats why dont know about it
