Ah yes a very beautiful spot in Oregon! I love the hike! But the cleanest water it is not. It is important for people to realize that that pretty blue green water is caused by high mineralization of its contents- simular to blue green/white glacial milk rivers. The jackass mine mined cinnabar - a highly saturated Mercury ore used for gold mining. The pretty shining red and/or dull yellow rock that can be found here in the river IS that ore! So the entire watershed is -quite naturally- mercury laden. so please don't drink the water or swim in it for long.
