There are some shopping centers in the USA that don't like photography. I was at one where there was a farmer's market and security came up to me and said no photos. I'd seen people taking photos all night, but they said since you have a professional camera you aren't allowed. Apparently any SLR camera is a professional camera. The pocket cameras are allowed. Arbitrary as can be, but it is their property and ultimately I wouldn't win if the police became involved so I just chalked it up as a loss. Still, on the whole I think it is easier being a photographer in the USA than the UK.
I think you’re the only RUclipsr I’ve considered subscribing to their paid service. You have a non-annoying delivery and you make great photos with sensible gear
Brilliant photos! Great take on the angles and juxtaposition of elements. The coca-cola truck with the bottle in front of the Empire State Building was perfect. So much awesome composition and great exposure. Great video wrapped around it all, too. I got a chuckle over an Englishman pondering getting rained on.
Was there in the 90s and must go again. Everything is so huge you need a mega wide angle lens to fit it in. Like you said, it is worth taking the same shot at different times of the day and night.
Great video....I especially Love the way you compose your shots - often turning something mundane into something Wonderful and well worth printing..!! Inspiring as Always, Thanks...
That shot from the Rock was amazing, great processing on that, reminds me of that scene from Crocodile Dundee when he's on top of the Rock, how time changes things
Awesome craig cracking content as a photographer and mad keen street photographer NYC has always been on my list of places to visit not managed it yet but one day 📷❤️
Such a pleasure to the watch the whole video from the start till end. Your videos are very engaging and one doesn't realize the time passing by. Looking forward to more amazing content in future.
As always the photos are 11/10 and I very much enjoyed the travelogue. I agree with the comment below regarding the Empire State Building and the Coca-Cola truck - quintessential America!
I did the same trip, 5 years ago. Thanks for bringing me back all these beautiful memories. Now I want to go again! I'm off to Rome and Napoli next week, I can't wait!
I take heed of what you did. Those vignettes are tops. PS. Am in that general area Lower Manh. everyday Everybody's pics of Occus the same. But brilliant twist on the rotated view in the truss above passage way. I did not do that to mine Pierre Lambert (a YT, too) did a nice long exposure on floor of the Occulus I have not seen from anyone. Similar to pics of Grand Central Station people scurrying.
Excellent video. Native New Yorker here. I moved away in the 80s but return every few years for a dose of home. Your shots of the Oculus exterior are great. I had trouble finding interesting angles, but you nailed it. I'll need to try again on my next visit. I prefer the top of the Empire State Building to 30 Rock. The view looking north from the ESB is fantastic. Other spots you might consider for your next trip include the boating lake area in Central Park; World Trade Center; Chrysler Building from various angels; Chinatown and Little Italy; the Highline; Washington Sq. Park and Greenwich Village; Fifth Avenue at Rockefeller Center; and Manhattan shot from Roosevelt Island (including views from the tram).
Great video, I’m just back from NYC and really enjoyed it. Didn’t get all the places in that I wanted (family/not photography holiday)….. Which hotel did you stay as it looked really handy for the skyline images…. I was in TS so only got down for sunrise on one occasion Andy
I really need to go back, the first and last time I was in New York was 2003 and the only digital camera I had or could afford back then was, the Canon IXUS 2 with blistering 2MP sensor and postage stamp size view screen. I was only there for a few days, would need to spend at least a week, probably more.
Hey thats my camera and lens and i was meant to go to NY on my 50th and photowalk for my YT channel... i admire you a lot as a photographer, educator and all-round funny guy on that YT.. 😄 watching you in practice is very inspirational.. thanks greg
Nice video and photos within it. Was surprised you haven't been tempted by any of the later camera offerings from the new Olympus (ie M1iii, M1x or the new OM-1) - would be interested in your views.
Brilliantly composed images. Enjoyed the whole video. Makes me want to make another visit after 20yrs. Interesting to know the camera bag you used and did you take a tripod. Always a shall I shan't I. Baggage and weight, flight weight limits etc.
Come on, really?! A London hoodie in New York? Did you listen to Sting's song on your earphones, then? Jokes aside, I loved your photos, and a huge number showed angles and perspectives which were new to my eye. Specifically amongst those shot at dusk or in the evening. I wonder - how much forethought did you bring along? How much was scouting on the spot? Thanks for letting us go along.
The hoodie was bought especially for the trip. My son and I had matching ones! I did research for the trip, but of course just captured whatever caught my eye on the day, just as I would wherever I happened to be visiting.
Thanks for watching.

The subscription is very well worth it, I have been at it for three years now. 😀

@@e6Vlogs You are several steps ahead of me in that department.

Photographing skyscrapers in the mist is a bit like woodland photography. It gives separation. Nice.
You have the eye for it. Thanks for sharing.
Great watch, thanks for sharing the cool images.
4:55 “… a bit starwarzy…” My thoughts exactly. Good call! Cheers on yet another inspiring video.
For the “art of seeing”, you are one of the best around! 🏆🏆🏆
Brilliant as always Craig, your compositions impress every time. It reminds me what real photographic skill looks like. Cheers mate.
I really appreciate the pacing of your videos.
Great content Craig. Keep it coming.

Amazing photos! There was a good mixture of explanation, scanning the location and the main shot. I enjoyed the music with the pictures.
At last, someone likes this video! 👍
So glad you were able to finally visit!
Amazing hope you enjoyed it
I’ve been once loved it and will go again..

Nice video, I’m heading there in November and already had the same locations to photograph….. plus a visit to the B&H store
Thanks for posting
Stunning compositions as usual! I don't often go for high contrast images, but that night shot was amazing!
Good stuff as usual Craig!

Did it in October 2005 with the family, a brilliant trip. I'm in my 60's now and don't know if I'll ever return.
Great shots as usual Craig 📷👌
Very nice well deserved holiday ! Brilliant images

Очень красиво! Прекрасные кадры.
The GR3 would have been excellent here too
On top of the Rock the Chrysler building was looking nice
Loved the video Brill images.

Nothing added really to make me upgrade (though better viewfinder on OM1 sounds nice). Really would like to see a PEN-F MKII released.
Awesome, I knew i say you at Brooklyn Bridge Park a few week ago.
Oh, you should have come and said Hi! I bet my son that I would get recognised…and I lost! 😄
A mention for the perhaps underappreciated 7:55

I meant apart from a mini tripod
Yes you did have a tripod, got distracted at the part of the video... Doh.
Quality, as usual... 👌🏻
Great video Craig! Headed there next week so very inspiring. I promise not to steal any of these photo shoot ideas 😆.
Well, I say, feel free to copy my ideas. But then, go explore and see what YOU can spot. Find your unique views.
@@e6Vlogs will do. Thanks Craig!
Damn! Not enough subs imo!
These street shots are amazing
Nice video! Which month did you go? Thanks

Great content Craig and you've excelled yourself with this content. Looks like a street photographer's paradise.
photos strait out of camera jpegs? cropped?

Great images and content, but that music at the start is so annoying
poor old frank must be turning in his grave that's awful music
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and loved the pictures.
