Thank you, the third soultion helped me fix my laptop. It wouldn't turn on and the charging light woukd blink. I tried removing battery and holding power button but that method didn't work. Then I removed memory and the fan turned on, I pressed the power button and my laptop came on... Thanks for this useful solution :)

My Compaq Presario CQ62 came with win 7 upgraded to win 10 and upgraded memory from 2 gig to 4 gig two memory cards inside, power cable is good it works the light on the side of the pc lights with cable pluged in but power button fails to power on, i tried to pull off battery back panels removed mem cards and reinserted still no power so i have pulled apart what I could of the laptop but could not get it to separate from case so i took out the hard drive but i want to know how to get this hard drive to work on another laptop i know i have to get some kind of usb connector but the type of drive is samsung Model HM250HI ATA type i think and i wanted to just use it as an external drive to use as back up, not sure what i will need as the connection on the drive is very different no pins just slide type connector

Power lihts then info light switches between them,at the bottom I am getting 6 red flashes on a loop
I have tried everything you said,mine is a small compaq and its has two memory stick,took both out and put back in.
The problem I have is that this particular computer CQ60 is supposed to be able to run without the battery, the power is plugged in and the led light is lite along side the cord entrance. But when I push the power button the lightning bolt light blinks 3-4 times and nothing happens and when the battery IS in, it won’t charge the battery ( maybe not good ). But still..... it’s supposed to turn on regardless because there’s continuous external power going to it. How do I fix that problem??

Helo please, my computer Compaq cq50 comes on with logo and after it just get stuck in blank screen the come before window logo. Also I sometimes get to access bios without it freez and when I it still freeze after trying to make change.

Hmm! I'm stuck! Did all the steps and my computer Is still stuck on a loop of flashing to boot up. It takes forever going through a cycle of booting up. This sucks! If I could get past this my computer would run great for being an older model. Any suggestions?

hi.i replaced my dell N5050 laptop mother board.but it not turning on.after i removed the battery and try to turn on.laptop is turned on.after i shut down and try to on but it wont on.after removed the ac adaptor and hold the power power button 30 second then i connect the a/c power lap top turned on.i need to do things every time.any one help me

Possibly power button ribbon cable has disconnected from laptop, you have to remove the top cover and take a look inside and see if anything is unplugged

So my laptop has different type of problem from yours. When i turn on my laptop it shows the brand of the laptop which is acer and it stays that way and it turns bitch black. So i there a way i can fix it without resting it

Hello, i hat same problem but i try it on the same way till not reach my computer my computer name is also Compaq. and i hat did Ram out and in check ram, dosen t effact at all. those 30.or 60 min push start batton i did to. it has't. now i thinking about Batterie but if batterie muss suppost to come with adpator anyway. still not. so what should i do now, donate me some idea .. thank you.

no u dont understand... what he wanted say was not actually the laptop wont turn on or no power.... its just a standby power only or no display but its actually turned on... there is still electricity on it but wont display... in the process of a computer motherboard, the memory card is the last one to send a signal or display a report on screen, if the memory card or a memory card slot is defective also sometimes the memory card is not properly setup or installed, there will be no report on screen...
Mine won't work on any of these steps
If this doesn't work, what's next?
if it is still not powering on after following these steps, you might need a new powerjack, but it could also be the motherboard

Unfortunately for me, I've tried all of that on my laptop, which is the same model as in your video! I notice your website is now offline. I had no mains power/battery charger light, and no power button light either. I went to a Restart Party (electronics repairs) therestartproject.org/ where I did most of the work dismantling the laptop, although we left the motherboard in place and didn't touch the screen assembly. I removed the battery, the hard drive, the memory, the keyboard, the lower cover, and even the WiFi card! At the end, I had the power jack/battery charger light coming on, the power switch light had come on briefly, but then stayed off. After the party, charging the battery back at home, the laptop still wouldn't turn on and there was no power button light! When I plugged my phone into a laptop USB socket, it started charging. I can only think of two possible solutions. These are 1. Somehow bypass the power switch. This switch can cause the laptop to be turned permanently off. Unfortunately, when the cover containing the switch was removed and the charger was plugged in, the laptop didn't automatically turn on. 2. Replace the motherboard. Unfortunately, some motherboards for sale seem to be missing components and I saw one which was described as for this laptop, but was Intel based, although mine is AMD.

the only hope is to disassemble it and make sure everything is still connected on the inside of the laptop.
