Can't wait to see what you decide to get. I'm more old school myself but that is just a personal choice. If you get anything with direct injection get a catch can they are cheap insurance, the engines will carbon foul if you don't and cleaning it usually means the head has to come off. Just an odd bit of trivia about how things change over time, the F8Xs are the same size and a tiny bit heavier than my E34 and the G8Xs are the about the same size and heavier than my old E39 540. The best car you for is always the car you like the best.
It really depends on what you’re interested in and planning on doing. If looking for a vintage cruiser, maybe an e34 or e32. A track toy? Than an e30 or e36. Newer Lamborghini killer? An M340 may be the direction. Lots of choices depending on what you want out of your car.
@stephengeter5898 Then maybe the e39 is something that might appeal to you. Late 90’s-early 00’s 5 series. If you get the 540, still get beautiful V8 noises, they’re pretty damn quick, and very reliable. 8-10k would get you a sorted v8 6 speed, maybe even an m sport.
