Hi, not trying to be rude but I thought you should know that the variation in temperature and the changing seasons is not because of the difference in distance from the sun, it's the incident angle of the light from the sun at a particular part of the planet at a particular time of year. During the winter, the incident angle of the light coming from the sun at that location is more oblique and during the summer, the incident angle is more squared off. The more oblique the incident angle, the less energy is being absorbed by the atmosphere and earth, and so the lower the temperature. I know this video is a little old so this is probably too little too late but I wanted to make sure you knew for the future! As for the tips you suggest, I appreciate everything you have to say!

I use a ultrasound diffuser with peppermint and cinnamon essential oils once a week for pest control. I also add epsome salt to my water every second or third cycle to give the roots a bit of a boost. I also in between the epsome salt add some hydrogen peroxide to address any root rot issues because the plants aren't using as much water. I do use a water meter, but there is nothing wrong with a little insurance. Much love my plant friends

Thank you for this video!! I live in Minnesota now and have been wondering about getting my plants through winter. Weirdly, my plants are doing much better here than the ones I had in L.A.! I owe it to having a huge south facing bay window now, and increased humidity.

If I just may do a rectification :) it's not the distance between the Sun and Earth that causes winter but the inclination of the light. Thank you for this video, it really helped. It's the first winter for almost all my plants and I am scared! I am in France and I get really cold winters with 0 light!

7:15 I'm from Northern Norway and let me tell you I am shaking in fear for my plants during the winter. I have some tropical plants that I will lay down my life to help survive the cold.

I use a wifi smart plug to turn my grow lights in my rooms on and off so they get lots of light without me having to do much work or forgetting to turn on the lights.

Oooo! Nice mirror! I have big windows facing North and facing west. On the west side is my covered porch. It does not allow for as much sun/light because of this.

LA would have less hours of sunlight during summer than Toronto. The difference between summer and winter gets more extreme, the more north you go

And in the Arctic the sun barely sets around June 21. Like in Grise Fjord, Nunavut, they get almost 24h of sunlight around that time!

Yes that’s correct, my mistakes it’s opposite. Good catch on the detail. 😁
