Thanks for taking us along with you. I thought it was so funny that you kept looking for the Staub name on your fondue pot until you realized it was Zwilling... and then came the disappointment. That just shows you are a true Staub fan.

I am glad you kept your "mistake" in the video.
Look at it this way: You will not worry if your guests scratch the fondue set because it is a Zwilling and not a Staub :)
The red color is still beautiful!
I actually got 2 AMAZING Staub deals BEFORE Black Friday.
88 Euro for a 29 cm 4.2 Liter (4.5 Quart) Oval La Cocotte White Truffle (Retail Price 299 Euro) I haven't seen such a deal EVER. And it was NOT a scam! It came with a box and no defects.
170 Euro for a 28 cm 6.7 Liter (7.25 Quart) Round La Cocotte Cinnamon (Retail Price 349 Euro) Cinnamon is a Majolique color.
I haven't cooked in them yet lol

      Bulgarian Bro@ Where from ?

    • @chsulie

It seems like there is a way better deal in Europe than in the USA. Thanks for watching!!! Like I said in the video I guess I had some blinders on when I was there… hopping to score some Staub pieces but ended up with Zwilling brand… it is all good!

@@chsulie Usually it is the other way around.
But bear in mind that I look at many different shops.
With the EU I can get from many different countries and not worry about import taxes.
Bulgaria is also a member state of the EU.
One deal if from a German online store, the other from the German Amazon, another from an Italian online store, another from the Italian Amazon.
Plus I found a great German comparison site that looks at all German online stores. The same site has a version for Italy as well.
So I might find only 1 particular item on sale in a given website and the rest might be a rip off.
So I look for models and colors and I have price alerts set up.
Basically I am like a deep sea fisherman lol

@@chsulie Also with energy prices, inflation and uncertainty in Europe people do not spend so much on luxury items such as Le Creuset and Staub.
Stores maybe want to get rid of inventory.
I am in a good position that I have a bit of spending money and can take advantage of such opportunities.

      @@chsulie Zwilling owns Staub.
I have some high quality Miyabi Japanese knives (owned by Zwilling), some Kramer knives (licensed by Zwilling made by Miyabi) but my daily workhorse western knives are Zwilling.
I bought a set of Professional S series Knives (A 8 inch Chef knife, 8 inch Bread knife, 6 inch Serrated Utility knife, 4 inch pairing knife, Kitchen Shears and Honing Steel plus a wooden stand) for 100 Euro (Retail Price 300 Euro)
The Chef Knife is amazing! When it is sharpened I do not cry when cutting onions! And because Western knives have a softer steel than Japanese knives you can cut through small bones and not worry about breaking the knife. (But you need to sharpen them more often)
My idea is that Zwilling is a high quality brand in the mid sector. Not cheap but not luxurious.
Like VW Group. Zwilling is VW. But VW owns SEAT, Skoda (cheaper) and Audi Bentley Lamborghini Bugatti (luxurious) but VW are still nice cars.
I saw that Baillarini (the Italian brand owned by Zwilling) makes enameled cast iron but it is manufactured in Vietnam.
So maybe your fondue is made in Vietnam.

Omg i agree the pricing is not that great. I have several Staub and Le Creuset I love them both, however I find myself reaching for my Staub most of the time. And today I got the oval seven quart Staub as a Christmas/ New Year gift. I cannot wait to start cooking with it. Most of the stuff that I have I have found it at Williams Sonoma on sale. Marshall’s have some good items as well from time to time. And always check your local second hand store, I have some good pieces from there as well, “ All-Clad, Le Creuset, Staub, and my KitchenAID came from my local second hand shop “. Happy cooking.

Very helpful, I am about 1 hour away from their Pleasantville NY warehouse and debating whether I should make a trip. But I agreed the price is not as amazing. Also most of the stuff is the same as their website.

Have you ever ordered a Staub item from Zwilling online that is indicated as having visual imperfections? I see a fry pan I am interested in for a very good price, but am nervous about the extent of the imperfection.

    • @chsulie
      @chsulie  Год назад

I had purchased Staub from Zwilling online. However, I had never purchased their visual imperfections items. This is going to be base on luck if you will get a piece that you will accept appearance wise. If it is really price appealing than try out your luck!!!

@@chsulie I wanted to report back! I bit the bullet and ordered the Staub fry pan in graphite with visual imperfections. It came in today and the only issue I saw are 2 small bubbles on the handle area. It looks like the enamel just created a bubble and these bubbles are 1mm tops. Happy so far.
