Seen the film so many times, swell to have an audio❣️ Stanwyck has always been a favourite of mine, but I do prefer Jimmy Stewart❣️ Fred was such a cad in The Apartment, just can't think of him as sweet🤷🏻♀️👍🏽👏🏾✌🏾🤘🏾❣️😘
I recommend watching Alice Adams with Katharine Hepburn to see Fred Macmurray as sweet. :) Love these old stories from the Golden Age of Hollywood, yes? So great to have these recordings!
This must have been such an hour of distraction in 1942. The story is so humourous. A great introduction into 1940ies slang. I see a slight resemblance to snowwhite and the Seven dwarfs....
07:00 I think this whole story is a perfect example of why trying to keep up with the current slang and actually adopting it is one of the most useless things lol Occasionally, I will use words/slang from the 30s or 40s and most people have no idea what the hell I’m talking about lol Every year we see a slang word of the year or a catchphrase that stick around for too long… I think it’s OK for young kids trying to feel like they are cool or unique by using verbiage colloquially But at the end of the day, slang and jargon is ever evolving and you cannot keep up lol
I really enjoy this! Better than TV
What a fun story! Thank you for the post.
Stanwyck and MacMurray made a great team! 😄

I think Gary Cooper is Potsy in the film version
