My mom introduced me to The Thin Man movies about 43 years ago and I still watch them now. They used to play them on the PBS station in our area every New Years Eve.❤❤
If you have a chance to watch the movie, you should. It’s a great movie! The Hammett book is worth reading, too. He was a groundbreaker for his time.--I love William Powell. I told my husband I married him because he looked like him. 😉
Im in my 30's and my hubby is in his 60's and when we met, we bonded over this movie. I can watch this movie over and over again and love it more every time.
Just come across this....William Powell is first class...I've seen one of the film's and thought they were both excellent in it...so far, this radio play is really enjoyable , I'm looking forward to the 2nd one...much obliged for this Mon Ami👍✌️🏴

@@HollywoodClassics33Returns the sound track of your back then was always sped up by 20% to make movies finish in about 1 HR 10 min. They wanted movies shorter to avoid using more electricity as much as possible; this was due to war efforts to conserve; and that the movie going population found that anything shorter made for feeling cheated. Anything longer was too tiresome after working 60 hours a week. They wanted a short flick, a cherry coke and 90 min out in town- that's it. Then they were ready for home. M
Yes, and they NEVER trip over their words - this is all done live for radio, of course. Watch a classic era film like His Girl Friday with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. Pages and pages of perfect rapid-fire dialogue that go on for ten minutes or more without a cut. We think we’re so smart today, but we just have more info at our fingertips via tech - our brains are actually much lazier and short of attention now. I believe it’s because kids used to have to do lots of rote memorization in school, which today we think is “dumb” - but it built up the memorization “muscle” of the young brain to master and deliver tons of material on command, which we are terrible at today.

Yay, they left in my favorite line: "You didn't have to knock me out. I knew you'd take him but I wanted to see you do it!"
And my favourite line:
"You got types?"
"Only you darling. Lanky redheads with wicked jaws.'"
Have the entire movie set. Get ,The Kennel Murders, it's incredible too!
Oh what a jewel, thank you so very much.
You’re welcome
This is a fantastic way to remember those whom did not have what we have.
A very humbling experience in my opinion
Considering the way the world is going what they didn't have back then or what I didn't have ( I' m 67 ) doesn't seem like such a bad thing
Superb upload. I love the movie too.

My mother would get hollered at for keeping the radio on too long at bedtime; then she had to fuss at me for clinging to the tv. 🙂
I loved these stories

Guess I'll have to watch the movie to hear, "That didn't come anywhere near my tabloids." Lol!!
Waiter, will you serve the nuts? I mean serve the guests the nuts. Those two were great together.
He is TRUly the sexiest man that lived! He, Patrick Kane, AND Bob Seger. 🦋 m. Ill
Hey
In the movie Jimmy Steward 📺 played David. I miss him, in this show. 📻
David is a skunk in this.

Jimmy Stewart was excellent!! He said in an interview once Myrna was very kind and helpful to him!! Would we expect her to be any different??
And it was Stewart's first movie role.
They talked so fast back then.
Yes they sure do 😂
