I do love to close my eyes, and listen, and just only imagine, the characters, environments and the atmosphere...it's sooo therapeutic for me!!! 💯💯💯💯💯💞💞👍🏻
And in between those 2 installments, there was In the Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland and Van Johnson. There was also a musical stage play called She Loves Me. The "shop" was different in each of these 4 incarnations of the story, selling luggage and leather goods, musical instruments and sheet music, perfumes, and books.
Wow 78yrs ago!! Just imagine going to Liberia now!!! Maybe one of the most violent countries in the world but that's another story!! Another great story from Lux, it's a shame they don't do these types of shows anymore esp here in the UK.
I always love watching the older movies, and Claudette was one of my all time favorite actresses. I am enjoying listening to these radio programs, and I also enjoy listening to the commercials and that’s really saying a lot😁. Films produced in the 50’s lost my interest. Many things in that time frame started to erode our lifestyles, at a loss for a better word.

I listen to a Lux radio theater show every night - usually ones that I am familiar with by having seen the movie. What a great way to fall asleep
I thought I was the only one that did that 😂
I do it too
Damn, advertising so smooth, makes ME want to buy Lux laundry soap! 😆
Me tooooo😂😂😂 I bet it's good stuff,I can only imagine!!!👍🏻
@@junegomez2325 if it's good enough for a premature infant, it's good enough for me! 😂😂
my favorite Christmas show, with Jimmy Stewart. Thank you.
My introduction to Don Ameche was in the movie “Cocoon”. He was amazing, him and Wilford Briley. It’s so amazing to hear him in his youth.
Fantastic version!!! Those who have seen You've Got Mail a million times like I have, will recognize the copied lines 😁
Those that watch the classics know that!
Love the dialogue in the restaurant beginning 30 min. in ! A good one..thanks!
🌞 thank you
Radio stories had graphics that were better than TV. At least, more worthwhile.

I wish this cast made the movie.
Some Lux shows are the original cast.
A long time before you’ve got mail, there was another movie of AShop Round the Corner, starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan

Sound is surprisingly good quality
Don Ameche has such a handsome voice 😍😍😂😂😊
Yes! So dreamy! Especially when he says "Darling." Eeeeeee! 😍
Don Ameche was in “The Bickersons”. He played John Bickerson, playing opposite of Francis Langford.

The actors did a great job

Simon Mcgrath Agreed!
Excellent - thank you.

The movie of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan called you have go Mail was copies from this play.
Adapted, not copied.
And In The Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland and Van Johnson! Very, very good! ( And it’s got Judy singing!)
Hollywood LOVES Remakes!
Isn't this the story that the movie, "You've Got Mail" was based on with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan?
Yep, as well as In The Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland and Van Johnson.
No. They didn't have internet back then. Duuuhhh...
B&W movie produced with Jimmy Stewart and others I cant recall...wonderful movie about the late 30s maybe (?)
Cunny; Your right. Thanks for confirming that this story has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the movie "You've got mail"!!!
@@callmeanythingbutlatefordinner Duuuhhh yourself. use your imagination.
I listen to these shows every night, and it goes into my nightmares
I n that year my mum is 6years old and hiding in the bomb shelter.Don't think it played in England. She would be reading Rupert stories by candle light
You've Got Mail.. nice!
Is base from this movie!
