@@eltidy Sounds reasonable. It's easy to zoom in on any one single item, a lot harder to nail every update in a video that covers all of it without scripting it out for weeks.
I LOVE Legions and I hope 4H does well in the new year. But I worry about how collectibles companies may cope with the obvious buying slowdown from consumers. We've seen price cuts and price freezes, smaller waves and items that may have sold out quickly previously that did not, and what seems to me an increasingly concerned tone from the company spokespeople urging folks to get in on the preorders. Will 4H be ok in 2025?
Of all the toy companies, the Four Horsemen is the one I'm least worried about. These things are cyclical. Years ago there were a ton of "peg warmers" on BBTS. Advent of Decay was overstocked and not selling well. The result was fewer people pre-ordering and it got to the point that people remember now where production runs were smaller and they would immediately sell out on release like with the Arethyr wave. Then people started to see that the aftermarket and began over-preordering, intensified during pandemic buying, causing the recent waves to have large, well-stocked waves with a lot of oversupply. Now that customers and retailers are ordering smaller quantities, the pendulum will likely swing back again. The Horsemen will keep doing what they do, and they will be fine because they have established a low risk business model, but collectors need to be ready for a return of Legions selling out before release. With the dragon coming, there have never been more eyes on 4HM and I don't think the supply will meet the demand over the next few years. Of course the pendulum will eventually swing back again. and again. and again.
Man, i really hope they don't do 2 dragons! 😅 im already planning on putting in a few overtime hours a month to pay for my dragon. On a serious note, im very thankful that 4HM leveled the field a bit for the retailers with their pricing. It allows me to forgo some preorders until later and focus on the drops that have to be paid at purchase time.
The problem is that it would be substantially more expensive at retail. Just remember, if you really want it, you probably have until mid-to-late spring to save. While pre-orders will begin in March, they will probably run for a month or two.

I was hoping for a longer break from the last wave pre-order to the next sale. Tomorrows sale is too soon for me If I want to order that Dragon in March. I looking forward to Necronominus and All stars 6 arriving, those waves have taken a while. I remember Jeremy or maybe Chris saying they were taking steps to improve the production time but it seems like it still takes them min 2 years to get the main waves out. It seems to me that they have been delaying the big waves to get the smaller in-stock and legions con items produced. I'll be backing the Dragon this year, but I won't expect to see it until 2027. I'll pick up the Figura Obscura, I'm pretty much all in, I get the First releases, but I haven't been getting the repaints. I'm hoping for another Egyptian set this year.
The initial timeline on the big G-Con waves is always a year and a half. So when something is delayed to two years it's a six month delay, which is really not that long a time in the world of toy production. Some waves ship early, some ship late. It's just the nature of the beast.
@@DorkLair Yeah, I get that and I am used to the cycle, I mentioned it because 4H Employee's have said they are trying to reduce the time it takes, but the G-con waves still take a min of 2 years to ship from 4H. I basically add 6 months to any estimate they give and if it comes early then yay. pre-order fatigue is a real thing I experience and it can get frustrating when I see new in-stock items I'm not interested in get released and I continue to wait for the things I paid for.
@@T7nowhere Yeah frustration for long waits is totally understandable. But expecting Four Horsemen to delay everything else they are planning because pre-production has had delays on one product is unrealistic and a very linear view of a highly dynamic set of unconnected processes. But again, I totally understand the frustration. At least 4HM gives updates. They even have a weekly live show where people can ask them questions.
@@DorkLair Yup, I always appreciate their frequent update and openness about the process. My Graveyard Skellingtons from BBTS still say June. Are you sure they are coming Q1?
Four Horsemen updated that timeline here: facebook.com/FourHorsemenToyDesign/posts/pfbid0NAaFww4nH8s2G4y1BTLzNEvxmGvwWJepDwnGxqjmkjj1RMLgXw7AKMr6Y3BQo9fal?__cft__[0]=AZWadhZ2fEBwOBQzO9r-yzgR2gtelvykDrD4dQoA5GPKh1hNdIvmd0B4jmtwSXq1PjviTWRmpfFVXdViScIv-14WwzS4hfd9AWY8KUHu6uNTMavAMvY_N-nIQSrKDINBUG3XslRcZB0DIL6vvHhssXR3TtLZ699uWxEhJn0qkCQzkw&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R
Damn...600 $ for the dragon...hmmmm.....I have to make way for it....
@@TitanHaladitsijmecherit My prediction is $500 for the dragon.
@@DorkLair That's a bit better, cause importing this dude in Romania is gonna bump it up to 650-750 at least with shipping and import taxes. Now I hope we're both wrong and he's actually around 350-450 but that's wishful thinking I think XD. Either way, I still think its worth it for those who are interested. Might be hard to save for it since I also collect other high end stuff like Beasts of the Mesozoic and MAfex, BUT I WOULD REALLY WANT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN IN MY COLLECTION
@@TitanHaladitsijmecherit It's exactly what I said in my video.
@@DorkLair Yep! Watched it, splendid video as always !
mcfarlane makes some good stuff why not review it
@@hereiam6149 I don't review stuff that I don't collect.
"Rising sons" september '25 ?!!! To be honest: March 2026 ...
Like I said in the video, I fully expect Rising Sons to be a few months later than the initial estimate just like Necronominus and Poxxus before it.
I think at this point they can probably start tooling before the pre-orders, like it seems they have done for the Dragon, But I still can't imagine having a production cycle shorter than 2 years for the dragon. I currently have 5 waves on pre-order and I skipped Ashes of agbendor and Oxkrew Book two. So much of my money is sitting in limbo. BTW, appreciate the replies.
@@T7nowhere If I ever get to the point where I can't have my money tied up on pre-orders I plan to switch over to retail, that's the beauty of Legions, there are options for everyone.
