Not only does the history teacher give you fast travel points, she also tells you about the Pokémon themselves. Basically, there’s was a king in Paldea and he was given 4 items. One was a tablet, one was a sword, anddd I forgot what the other 2 were. Anyways, the items turned into Pokémon (because they were the whole time) and then they destroyed some stuff and killed some people so they got sealed away.
Beads and a vessel were the other items
It also kind of alludes to a Gimmighoul origin story, saying that a merchant was showered with coins.
And she is best girl of this gen
And now we get to let the destructive powers free so we can enslave them. Legit.
I guess you could say unsealing them really raises the stakes.

I love how in a region supposed to be based off Iberia, they not only gave us the most Japanese evolution like Kingambit, but also the most CHINESE legendaries too (though to be fair, they're not native to Paldea as they were given to a Paldean king)!
The Treasures of Ruin legendary quartet are based off the Four Perils of Chinese mythology. Ting-Lu is Taotie, a gluttonous beast normally depicted on dings, Chinese cauldrons (like one on its head). Chien-Pao is Qiongqi, who devours good people and rewards the wicked. Chi-Yu is Hundun, who has three sets of wings (though Chi-Yu has fins rather wings) and throws itself into a rage for no apparent rational reason. And finally, Wo-Chien is Taowu, who is associated with laziness (hence it being a snail), and can be a stubborn creature who does as it pleases.
I thought paldea was based off of Spain, hence why Nemona countless others say things in Spanish

This is really cool to know. I’ve found a lot of Pokémon are based loosely on Japanese myths and legends. Ninetails, from what I understand, is based on a Japanese demon.
Additional info:
Wo-Chien was given life by the grudges of a person punished for recording the deeds of an evil king, and is inspired by a Chinese metaphor for a person so evil that you would need multiple tablets to have a full record of their sins.
Chien-Pao was given life by the hatred of the innocent people slain by the sword embedded in its body.
Chi-Yu was given life by the envy of people who desired its beads so much that they waged war over them.
Ting-Lu was given life by the fear of people in ancient times, possibly the evil king's subjects.

I like how the stakes’ colors/shrine area match up well with the colors of the cardinal directions on the compass for the game!
no they werent.... south is red. the stakes there were purple.

Also the Stakes are the colors of the types the Pokemon are weak to chi-yu is blue Like the Water Type. Wo-chien is purple Like the Poison type. Chien-pao is orange Like the fire Type. And ting-lu is a Bit Green Like the Grass Type. Funny right
The Treasures of Ruin do respawn if knocked out by mistake. They are simply sealed away in the shrine again awaiting your next encounter.

@@westonshorts912 I went back after getting the Fire Fish, (at work and can’t remember it’s name rts) and it opened right up after. Had a capture power dark and had no issue.

Thank you for making this guide! This was one of the few tasks that I still needed to do to complete my Pokedex, so I definitely appreciate your hard work & dedication to making these videos! This was not too difficult to follow & all I really need to do now is get the fast-travel points for the shrines after I pull out the stakes!

I was following the video and once i got to 13:01, I didn't have any closer fly points so i went to the pokecenter and there I found a level 40 shiny sneasle just chilling out. That was the first shiny i caught in this game, so in honor, i named it after you. Keep up the great content!
That's cool, my first shiny was a Mudbray in Violet. As I remember, I was battling a wild Tera Pokemon, and caught what looked like a shiny to the left of me, and indeed it was. I did train it for a time, then switched it out for another pokemon.
my first every shiny was a geodude in pokemon pearl. It was the first game to get me back in the series so I didn't know how rare or what even a shiny was. I had just got my pokemon and was walking through the tall grass leveling up. Suddenly appears a yellow geodude. I thought it was just a gender thing, some special coloring I wouldn't care about. I fainted it for the xp. (So dumb). I was so stupid, I bought the magikarp from the guy for 500 moneys. I thought iy was some special rare 'mon until I saw it.

While going to collect all of Chi-yu’s stakes, I randomly got a shiny Cetoddle so I’m gonna name it after you as this guide (along with many others that you made) have helped me so much! Thanks for the guides and helpful tips in Pokémon games and hope you’ll make even more

@@BeepisMcWeepis That’s so cool! I always wanted one and will have to hunt for one, or randomly find one as this is the third shiny Pokémon I’ve caught as the first two were Pawniard and Crogunk (two favorites of mine)

When I was travelling to alfornada I found a shiny fletchinder,I wanted sinistea chips
And around 3 hours after that I saw a frigibax spawn (I didn't know about the cave) and found a shiny cubchoo!
I named them Blaze and Strawbs :D
(Blaze and strawbs are now evolved and have their own shiny box

The fact that they gave the Treasures of Ruin just Tunak Tunak Tun as the battle theme...I can't. 😂Even if the Cascarrafa elevators are slow, I still enjoy Cascarrafa's music (thanks Toby Fox) and the Portuguese architecture of both Cascarrafa and nearby Porto Marinada. Cascarrafa's name comes from cascata, the word for waterfall in Portuguese. Cascarrafa's blue and white houses are based on those in coastal places like Porto Covo. Porto Marinada is based off Costa Nova, nicknamed the Venice of Portugal with all its canals. The colorful striped houses in Porto Marinada are fishermen's cottages (used by them to store their nets) IRL called palheiros or Portugese for haystacks.

Made a lot of progress on the ghimmicoil coins while doing this as well. Haven’t started actually looking, but got a bunch of progress finding these new watchtowers I haven’t found.

Agreed, definitely saving my resources for the best mons for raids vid.
I'll save you the trouble, use Perrserkrr with its hidden ability, a team of perrserkers because the hidden ability increases steel type moves damage for 50% and allies.
It stacks for each Perserrker on field and make sure to use a choice band or metal coat.

Use Gholdengo! He can solo most 6 star raids. Modest nature, 252 in HP/Special Attack and rest in defense. Nasty plot x3. Metal sound x3. Max your Sp Atk and lowers bosses special defense by max. Use steel beam. 4th move is recover

Snow leopards are so mysterious and beautiful. I think next to tigers they're my favorite big cat.
Yes it’s so cool. The fish is cute but should be mythical. The grass one is not my favorite but the Ting Lu guy is very cool.

The only other ones being Entei and Raikou which btw, most people haven't noticed that the game has confirmed the ancient fusion of Suicune, Entei and Raikou.

And people actually still believe Breath is better than Scarlet/Violet??
In Breath this sort of thing like exploring a remote mountian area only lead you to pointless birds eggs or the dreaded Kor*k seeds. In Scarlet/Violet, ahh you only get the keys to one of the Best (non-box Legendary) Pokemon of all time don't worry folks!
@@netweed09 Botw is better than Gen 9 with no doubt. It did everything better, cutscenes, (back)story, graphics, the whole open world thing, the map was easier to use. I do really like the new Pokémon games, they're great but Botw is such an amazing game and has so many things to do and unique little details.

I decided to play as spoiler free as possible for the first week the games were out and my curiosity to figure out what was behind the big door drove me to spending most of that time looking for stakes, only for my mid 20s level team to get completely wrecked immediately

Thanks for the guide for all the stakes! It's maddening trying to remember which ones you've gotten and which ones you haven't. Also, that tip concerning where to find Spiritomb was quite helpful, since I didn't know if it was a version-exclusive or not, but I found one on Scarlet.

These legendaries are dope. I absolutely love the cursed/corrupted vibe.
They're amazing. _This_ is how to do proper, rewarding Shrine gameplay (are you listening ahem , Breath of the Bore??)
Not spam Us with 100+ repetitive points that while would be fine if the game had actual real Dungeons - it doesn't. They soak up all 'points of interest' & become so predictable - you're never surprised at what you might discover. Scarlet/Violet gives you 4 amazing Pokémon (arguably some of the Best outside Box-legendaries) and great lore behind them.
This is the first gen in a while that I've had trouble deciding who I want to use, with so many cool designs available. It's weird how in that regard, my expectations for who I was going to be using changed almost immediately after playing the game. Even red sandwich lizard grew on me. I dig everything about violet way more except the version exclusives.

So I have a question did anyone have any issues of having a stake missing? And the seal is still chained?
Same for Ting-Lu and It’s the last Pokémon I need
I’ve done 2 of them now and both have minimum one stake missing, so me orange and one purple it’s super frustrating and i don’t know how to fix
I had a glitch where I collected all 8 stakes for one shrine and it didn't open. Had to reset the game and revisit all the spots until I found the one that was missing. Hope this helps if it happens to anyone

There are 10 sights of Paldea that get their own fast travel points and that is one of them.

I was needing this video yesterday but I already got them all now thankfully 😂. I really like all the new legendaries. Especially the goldfish and snow leopard. I caught all these Pokémon in pokeballs that best matched their color scheme. A nest ball, a dive ball, a luxury ball, and repeat ball. I’m sure you can guess what Pokémon went in what ball. I was debating to catch the ice one in a premier ball cause of the white but I chose the dive one cause of how much blue is present.

I did the same as you and caught them in premier balls (except for Wo-Chien who I caught in the master ball) I started watching your battles when I was catching Ting-Lu and I got the critical capture right when you started the fight with him!
