Gotta love Austin John. He really went out of his way to spend 3 days straight recording just to make these guides for everyone that'll be playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. He's like the internet version of game guides and handbooks we used to get since the 1980s. Gen Z should be really lucky to not go through the struggles before we had RUclips.

Austin, the thing I really like about your videos is that you don't waste the audience's time. Sure, you can find some of this info on the web - there are a dozen outlets writing articles about this stuff. But then you have to read through some kind of multi-paragraph pre-amble only for them to explain a bunch of information you already know for several more paragraphs. Finally, after the article wasted your time for a few minutes, the one piece of information you actually wanted was the last sentence or the paragraph of the article (and sometimes it's not accurate enough or at all). Thank you for not doing this.
the differnce between me and them as that I am just like you. I am a consumer of news articles, I watch a LOT of youtube, and I know what I want to see. and I know the channels that I have to tap right 12 times to skip the front sponsored spot. I know the stuff that would be boring and I just cut it all out.
I treat you with the same respect that I want when consuming content.

I love that they have a trainer to trade you an early game Snom, meanwhile I haven't done any story after getting my ride Pokemon, but I've already got two Snoms with interesting Terra types, one being Steel and the other Dragon.
Regarding the pinchurchin, she wasn't saying she wanted to ride it: she was saying that, since she has no rideable pokemon to take her out onto the water, she can't meet/catch many aquatic pokemon. So she wants someone to trade her a pinchurchin of her own.
I love your videos! And I love that you kept them as spoiler free as possible. For me, it's the first time after Pokémon Crystal (My very first) that I am playing totally blind about mons and moves and story, etc.
And it is being a very intense adventure, discovering, and loosing, and suffering, and enjoying it a lot.

Fun fact Perrserker is op for raids and some Japanese threads on twitter will literally cancel the raid if you aren't using perrserker
it's ability basically boosts steal type moves by 50% which by itself is already nice but it also adds this effect to allies
now pair this with its versatile moveset like being able to learn helpful status moves like screech and taunt and it makes raids a cakewalk if all 4 players use it

I just realized that when you go have classes at night there are noibats close to the bookshelfs, which I believe is a reference to the library in Convento de Mafra in Portugal that has bats in it in order to protect the books from insects, a tradition since its construction. It is not related to the video but it is the first time I realized this (only getting the game next thursday), but being portuguese, I really like the references to your and the spanish culture.
My favourite part of the day is when Austin John posts another video. Absolutely loving these videos

Hey Austin John! Love your content! Idk if you know this one or if it would be a cool thing to let people know but with the new “move remembering” system and the gift pikachu with fly. You get a thunder stone for catching 30 Pokémon. If you evolve pikachu even at level 5 Raichu will have all of pikachu’s moves to “remember” like thunder, thunderbolt, etc. so you can start the game with a Raichu with a full endgame move set. Kinda fun and great for early game lol

I have not played any of the recent Pokemon games but I've always watched your videos because they're extremely informative and allow me to be in touch with the progress and direction of the games.
I play Scarlet, so I had no idea of Miraidon’s skrrt when you quick turn. That is hilarious.
I know that with every new addition of pokemon games. I can always rely on you for info. Have done it for years and hopefully years to come. Great work.

Hey John, I think a good video idea would be "the best pokemon to use for each terra raid type" maybe even 2 pokemon each for a physical and special attacker. Could prioritize just making a single version of this idea for the upcoming charizard raid event as well.

I like how you can actually get a Haunter that evolves into Gengar without the unnecessary trolling like in BDSP. I think that's the first legit trade like that since being able to get Machamp in a trade in Yellow version.
In sun and moon you can get an alolan Graveler that evolves into an Alolan Golem

I was searching online raids and got in a 6-star gengar raid with ghost Tera. Unfortunately I had not one but TWO sucky teamates getting one shot over and over and killing our time so we lost, and since it was online and not my own world you only get one chance at it😢

Hey AJP, firstly just wanted to say appreciate you and all this content you’ve been putting out 🙏🏼
Secondly I wanted to make sure I understood comments on “breeding down” a regional variant. Specifically, who needs to hold the everstone? The way I understood it, the Pokémon holding the everstone WILL pass down their regional trait. So if I wanted a “original form” Wooper, not the Paldean form, I would give the original form one the everstone?
3 in-game trades, one for each scenario. You could say that it has perfect coverage 😉

Quagsire is my favorite Pokemon. I did this last night because someone in your community post comments said it was possible. I've not defeated a Gym, Titan or anything past getting my ride &I have a level 22 QUAGSIRE!!!! So happy.
These videos are great! Must be exhausting cranking these out so fast. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of hours pumped into the gameplay. Also, are shiny odds boosted at the beginning of the game? I encountered a shiny Hoppip in the first 3 encounters on the way to the lighthouse, and have heard of other people getting shiny's early on in the game.
nope. but if millions of people get the game the same day, then thousands are going to get a shiny :)

Could you make a guide on how the sandwich making mechanic really works. Finding it kind of difficult to create sandwiches that increase encounter rate for certain types, also there’s no other sandwich guides besides the shiny sandwiches. Would help understanding the sandwich making mechanic

for the flabebe, the smaller the yellow area, the higher rate of the pokemon to appear, so there's a small island on the right side of, go there and catch it in a minute.
Thanks for the guide! I didn't know the thing about the Everstone with breeding and alternate forms. If you're using a ditto then do you need to give the Everstone to the ditto if the other Pokemon is male or do you need to give it to the other Pokemon regardless of whether they are the male or female?

Hey Austin do the Ride Miraidon and Koraidon you get have fixed natures and stats the first time you use them?
No wonder why Austin never complains about the games: he dives in them, finding every detail, even the worst ones and then turn them into loveable details. Additionally he keeps this childish vibe we all have alive, showing us the way!
You are the ONLY thing I could find that states '/though the trade is shiny locked, you can get a shiny by breeding them/' such simple info and yet so hard
