This video is fantastic! During the mid '90s, I would watch The Weather Channel at my aunt's house almost religiously back then. I remember this era of TWC very well!
June 5th is my mother's birthday. I know I was tuned in at some point on Sunday, June 5, 1994, because I watched The Weather Channel day in and day out during that time. I loved that I could turn it on and leave it on. I knew what to expect and when.
I know it sounds weird, but I had to find some old school videos after I heard about Dave Schwartz's untimely passing. He was one of the remaining bastions of classic Weather Channel. And this is around the time I first discovered the Weather Channel. Thanks for this upload. Brings me back!
My grandfather and i would watch the weather channel for hours and hebgot me intonweather at the age of 10 and now at 42 i live for the weather and miss my grandfather so bad
I remember hurricane Bob got Me hooked on the weather channel when I was 8 almost 9 years old. I'd always get excited when the orange or red alert screen would pop up and start beeping and take over the program.
That's nothing. Lately my local NBC station's been on a Virginia Beach kick, showcasing Mary Kathryn's many mini-travelogues in the late night hours-particularly before the end of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
I really miss those old maps that show the temperatures. I've noticed l nowadays that The Weather Channel almost never reports on actual temperatures. It's almost like it's beneath them now to focus on stuff like that. Haha.
please bring back the classic weather channel. i wonder if the old news casters know that there is a vaporwave cult that idolizes their old reruns. @consumerism
Anybody know what channel had instrumental music playing and always ran adds and the stock market would scroll on the bottom of the screen? I live in Ohio so it was channel 16B I believe on buckeye cable. I would put it on that channel and it would help me sleep.
Rich Johnson made a mistake. He said southeastern Texas @ 25:20. I think he meant southeastern Kansas when he was telling viewers about a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in the areas.
Jill Brown was so cute, also used to love Jeanneta Jones, the weather channel had some hot babes back then! The last one I used to like was Kyla Grogan, ohhh she was the best! Especially when she had the black hair, I hated when she dyed it blonde.
Yeap i remember the majority of the segments, and I have all the songs and CDs featured. 1994 was one of the best years for TWC LF music....unlike 2012 - present....at least thankful for 30 years of quality broadcasting and LF music
You have no idea how much I miss The Weather Channel from back then when it was like this. If only we really could turn back time to these days again.
I always loved listening to smooth jazz during the Local Forcasts!
Reminiscing... I always feel like the only person that gets nostalgic about the Weather Channel. But the comments section prove I'm not the only one.
Believe me, you're not the only one. What used to be an enjoyable and almost addictive network turned into something so bad I can't stand to watch it.
It was so much better then when Landmark owned TWC. Back when the did weather. Now, mostly hype.
You’re not the only one.
Hell no. I loved it.
I'm french and too young to even have witnessed it by the time it aired but I love the esthetic as well
Thank you for bringing back my childhood; this is my region, too!

I like that this was posted with the commercials and everything. Thanks for sharing!

It's owned by NBCUniversal, whine to them because they own them

He was awesome to watch in the early 90s late night 1-3am Good times.
God, I even remember the COMMERCIALS.

"Make The weather channel great again" in 2017
I am so missing the real weather channel.
how the hell was 2017 7 years ago
im guessing Virginia Tourism Board went to the TWC HQ and just left a hefty check a VHS tape and a note stating "Play this til youre sick of it" lol
That's nothing. Lately my local NBC station's been on a Virginia Beach kick, showcasing Mary Kathryn's many mini-travelogues in the late night hours-particularly before the end of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Virginia is not for Lovers :D
I remember watching it all the time

@@evelyntheidiot6 I've spotted some o c e a n s h o r e s samples too
I really miss this vaporware local forecasts, and the Michelin commercials with the local ad ending.
That's yet another thing I miss about TWC back then...The Weather Classroom.
That first forecasts music. Straight chill.
I love the music around 8:08 for the trivia.
Me as well, so nostalgic! Gives me goosebumps as the sound clip takes me back to when I was a kid.
Call your cable operator and tell them you want The Travel Channel!
Wow I was 3 years old

Hey wow, my second birthday!
When I saw John Wannamakers, I knew what area the local forecast was from.

The color shade of 100s is still brick red. It would become magenta later.
NBCUniversal ruined the Whole Weather Channel and fired those staff
Virginia is for Lovers
did that feature the scattered strong thunderstorms icon?

This was technically 1994, not 1995.
