      Thanks for watching, man! Yea it is overall pretty stable. I would recommend atleast a plate on the counterweight horn for 4+ plates loaded, but I routinely use it with 4 plates without any counterweight on it. I have been very impressed with this piece for both leg extensions and hamstring curls. It is not perfect, but I really feel like it punches above its weight as a residential grade piece. Let me know what you think once you get it if you remember!

  • @MrApaHotel

    You can place a weight plate on the weight stopper so the weight arm starts a bit more up. This will give more resistance at the beginning. I saw that in another video.

    Just bought a clone of this Xmark machine - and it's AMAZING !! I can get all the ROM once you've dialled in where to set the pin, for both the leg extension and leg curl. Also i like to do the standing leg curl - played with it all day and then BAM !! My hamstrings cramped !!!! I agree with you that it's not necessary to have the stack design...i don't know why some people go to the extent of hooking it to a stack cable machine. As you said it's a ROM with a correct and nice strength to it. Hooking it up to a cable machine might make the action kinda sticky, as now it's silky smooth.
    This particular design is very well made - the shin pad revolves and automatically adjusts to your leg - The rod holding the shin pad is also a very large metal tube so it shouldn't bend. I prefer to use it single legged - one leg at a time. The chair also sits quite high up - it's adjustable so you won't be kicking the front horizontal base.
    One thing to watch out for is that red knob that locks into the pin wheel - it can knock into the frame if your ROM is overly extended....like if you do a standing leg curl - again just adjust accordingly and it'l lbe all right - that's the only downside to this particular machine - others have the adjustable knob designed not to get in the way. But you might not get the quality build of this machine - it's at least 12 or 11 gauge. Genuinely well built with thicker tubing.

      @@babygiantbarbell1014 And once i've used it i agree again that it's much better to just pull the pin and remove the leg holders so you can get into the chair - i'll hate to have to slide across the entire chair just to get in all the time - especially if you're as big as u are - i think the vinyl would be worn down form all the sliding !!

    Great review! Do you still use and love machine? I'm curious what you squat in order to be able to throw around 270lbs on here? Does it just require a ton of weight to get any kind of workout or are you ridiculously strong and squat over 500lbs? I squat about 300lbs for 5-7 reps have Bells of Steel rack mounted but it gets in way of cable on Rep rack so take it down after and thus only use it on leg day and want to do more hamstring curls so considering getting this model. Always concerned about resistance curve on these type of devices.

    • @babygiantbarbell1014
      @babygiantbarbell1014  7 месяцев назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed it! I would have demonstrated this machine differently in hindsight. I use 3-4 plates most of the time, emphasize the eccentric and use the plate on weight stopper hack that HGHR highlighted. That makes it a more even resistance curve. I routinely squat 500lb and recently did 500x4 a few weeks back (uploaded on my channel as a short for reference: ruclips.net/user/shortsR69IHchrrvw?feature=shared). You would be fine with the resistance. I really do like this machine a lot and still use it. It is not commercial grade, but it has handled my capabilities very well!

      Agree. YT reviews are stuck in the world of Titan/Rep/Rouge, which I don't find too interesting b/c much is just dictated by budget. Not sure if it is related to affiliate links or what. Coop will sometimes say nobody is making whatever, and a quick internet search or visit to a good local home gym store shows it aint true. For stuff @ a home gym store, YT reviews also don't matter so much b/c can just go try it. And aren't risking shipping damage.

Titan has “free” shipping as well but adds tax so you’re then looking at another $50 or so. They really are neck and neck price wise so it becomes which is a better value and I think Xmark wins.
