I am one of those “former 3d heli pilots” I’ve tried many times to do the pincher method but it was so awkward holding it traditionally and trying. I am definitely going to try today with resting it on my stomach. Just tried it and it just might do the trick. Super glad I watched this video. Ty Mr. Steel.
After months of flying pinch style, I gave thumbs a shot. Been using thumbs for over a month now and it's much better for me. Way better flying and it's more comfortable. Like Steele said, do what feels natural and stick to it.
Started with thumbs having game background almost three years ago. Half a year after switch to hybrid, then four months ago switched back to thumbs. Profit!
Thanks a lot dear, this video with your suggestions are turned on my capabilities on guides my drone (I come from Radiomaster tx16 to TBS Tango and with your suggestions regarding the position of my Inches I’ve re-found the precision on my guide of my drones, number one 🙏💪
I have flown RC for about 13 years and I only used thumbs... I recently started Pinching with my fpv drones and it really only took about 4-5 hours in the sim to feel totally comfortable with the grip.. But I find it almost impossible to fly line of site with this new pinch grip... So I have just decided to do both.. :)
I use a modified pinch like you do. It honestly feels the best on these huge taranis transmitters. I appreciate these vids my brother we all stand to learn something.
Great video - Thanks. As a bloody beginner I think you can also mention next time that applying stick extension might be beneficial. Though I understand that this has nothing to do with the thumb/pinch technique itself. I am having tremendous difficulties managing to fly thru any pylons on Velocidrone at the moment. But since I have extended the sticks on my Tango2 by (say) 5-6mm I can manage it slightly better.
Years ago it developed well for me to hybrid pinch left stick and thumb on right stick. Gives me high throttle/ collective precision and fast AIL/ELE movement without a preferred curve direction.
I have always been able to use both equally, but I do find pinching gives me a lil more accuracy than thumbs. I had always used thumbs on the smaller radios and pinching for the large ones, but I have found pinching on the small more game type controllers have made me more precise and improved my flying drastically compared to the large movement of the big gimbles, I do fly with very low rates too soo i get better control with less movement on the gimbles.
CHEERS BRO after watching the the 16 million dollar mansion video i realized it's not all about balls to the wall stick movements but small precision movements to fly the drone .i've installed Velocidrone and have learnt loads but trying to progress is very frustrating could you possibly do a vid of how you tackle some of the tracks there that include the diving down buildings as this is very frustrating at the moment cheers bud
funny fact i always felt more comfortable with the hybrid pinch like you and i dont change my frsky for the same reason you haven't too small to fly that style
When I first started flying quads I used my thumbs on toy class drones, due to my naturally shakey hands I use the pinch method for my hubsan h501s x4 professional, the flight is much more steady. Thank you Mr. Steel your video is awesome. Franko Flyer
I see what ur saying. Thought since I was a gamer I would thumb it. Well now I’ve extended my right gimble and pinch on that side and thumb on the throttle and yaw side. What works, works. Whatever blows ur hair back kid.
I can use either but I am used to big old bulky style controllers from all the helicopters and planes I own or have owned in the day haha but I was forced to get used to the small Xbox style when I bought the mavic mini im not a huge fan of the small controllers but they are nice to easily throw in the drone bag and transport haha I actually ended up buying a pelican for just my rc controller lol loving the videos cause like I said I was used to helicopter and planes but drones are way different and I jumped into freestyle drones on the higher end but it still taught me that I always need practice haha
The moment u said "flat stomach" i looked down and in that second you said "if you have one" - which was what i thought too... :D Just hoping the plant based diet helps with that...
Exactly the video I was looking for 👍 Do you think just with just the thumbs one could attain the same control as with pinching and the hybrid? (I know you talked about this..... but this is because I -wrongly before watching that other video of yours about RC - bought my first RC, the Taranis X-Lite Pro (now, I don't want it!) but... I have a week practicing in Velocidrone, and I am getting the hang of it, but just Thumbs. Do you think I should re-learn even if it is way more difficult to me that Hybrid or pinching methods?
Always fly thumb for DJI Drones but cant for FPV, for FPV always pinching, more precise... while doing thumb I feel like the drone is totally uncontrollable
I find it hilarious that the second part of this series, a video that is over 10 minutes in length, is exclusively about how you hold a remote. Interesting choice of priorities, lel.
As a thumber, i find it alot easier to reach all points in the gimbal. Feels extremely weird pinching or hibrid to reach the far corners.

flyingskwerrl pinching on the stomach with a lanyard is the only really good way to pinch
After months of flying pinch style, I gave thumbs a shot. Been using thumbs for over a month now and it's much better for me. Way better flying and it's more comfortable. Like Steele said, do what feels natural and stick to it.
I watch all your videos. I like to learn everything you know. Thanks Mr Steele.
Man I stopped watching a terraria video to watch this, and I already know how to fpv! Good content 👍
Scott Granger sadly no I haven’t been keeping up with that series
Chippy?
Yes a fellow fpv terrarian
Haha I was just playing Terraria yesterday
Hybrid all the way and lanyard a lifesaver especially when you have a bug fly in your ear 🤣 Thanks man keep them coming 🐝🦟
I'm waiting for a neural link setup
I'm too lol
Latency may vary...😎
It's here
It's an older video but a Florida University did used an older AR Drone to control it thru a unit that would make your DJI goggles look small.lol
Sure unless you get distracted or get an invasive thought and all goes to ...
Wtf Steele looks shredded.

As soon as i switched to Tango 2 I instantly went to pinch and i found myself a lot more faster, aggressive and accurate.
I have flown RC for about 13 years and I only used thumbs... Well explained. I have always used my thumbs but now l will practice your method 👍

Am i the only one who pitch on the left gimbal and thumb on the right gimbal ? It just felt so natural to me after trying all the other methods !
Waiting to see my first FPV pilot with a BIG ASSED BELT BUCKLE !!! Love it!
new life goal
I started 5 years ago with thumbs and only a year ago I retrained for pinch. It feels much more precise.

just finished watching part 1 and now ther's the part 2:D ,great timing lol

I love them arms! 😍 and your videos, very helpful. Thank you!
For camera drones I typically do pinch/hybrid with longer sticks but for FPV I tend to go for thumbing but with not insignificant expo.
When I first started flying quads I used my thumbs on toy class drones, due to my naturally shakey hands I use the pinch method for my hubsan h501s x4 professional, the flight is much more steady.
Thank you Mr. Steel your video is awesome.

hi I was wondering why your previous sim setting are so different from the new ones
i was laying in bed last night thinking i should try flying pinch. but i guess ima stay thumbsy lol, thanks steele.
I see what ur saying. Thought since I was a gamer I would thumb it. Well now I’ve extended my right gimble and pinch on that side and thumb on the throttle and yaw side. What works, works. Whatever blows ur hair back kid.
The best combo is: this TBS radio + Mr. Steele RTF from GetFPV. Maybe I should create a GoFundMe page for this dream? 🤤
Thanks for the vid Steele! Love this kind of videos!!!!
Hybrid pinch ftw 👍+👌
Can you also make a video about the range and settings of transmitters? Because der are many diffrences between US abd EU
Wouldn't it be better for signal if your stomach wasn't flat as the antenna would point in a better direction?
Thanks man! I Love This Kind if Videos!
Thumbs all the way especially if your flying planes fpv.
Great stuff. Did you have the Diamond antenna extender custom made for you by TBS ? Surely would have loved to have one of those.
You should try flying thumps with tango 2
I can use either but I am used to big old bulky style controllers from all the helicopters and planes I own or have owned in the day haha but I was forced to get used to the small Xbox style when I bought the mavic mini im not a huge fan of the small controllers but they are nice to easily throw in the drone bag and transport haha I actually ended up buying a pelican for just my rc controller lol loving the videos cause like I said I was used to helicopter and planes but drones are way different and I jumped into freestyle drones on the higher end but it still taught me that I always need practice haha
this is very helpful
Where my Pincher’s 👌 at? 😎
👍
no hard R, ma Pincha.
Pinch gang
👌👌
Satan is a deceiver. That 666 hand sign is evil.
The moment u said "flat stomach" i looked down and in that second you said "if you have one" - which was what i thought too... :D
Just hoping the plant based diet helps with that...

Good stuff. Just got radio and gogs, I'm just waiting on my qwad now.
Btw that pinched thump method, should be names NIPPLE GRAB
I pinch for the most part, but with full stick maneuvers I find myself reverting to all thumbs.
Tyler Elliott same here, I’ve got really short fingers so I pretty much have to
have a great life. nice touch.
Pinchers unite!👌
Ken Heron sup man 👋😁
🤘🤘
Pinch gang
So im a hyper hybrid. Lol left is thumb right is pinch. And i learned from being a bass guitar player lower seems better for me.
Should i buy a radiomaster tx16s or a tango 2. The radiomaster has a multiprotokoll so i can bind it with a tinyhawk.
For me i thumb the throttle and pinch on right hand! 😉
Thanks
is it better to have gimbals with tight tension or loose tension?
Hello Steele great video
Steele= dbest you should listen to the man
For me thumb allow me to reach the stick ends more easily
I stopped and watched this b4 I go out and rip👊🏻
I am thinking to buy radiomaster tx16s but many of my friends are suggesting me jumper t18 what should i buy
Awesome! I need a new radio...
No, you have a great week, or day, or month, or life!
HELP. Diled in all the settings as you said, but Velocidrone is still very floaty, gravity is nowhere near real. Like moon gravity. What to do ?
Feels good when the master is down to earth, and not dick. ty for sharing all your experience.
yeahh Bro more video!
Where can I get a green ethix shirt
Wish i had those veins haha still marks there steely haha
My mind forced me to type this: Facehugger hands
Flat stomach :D :D :D :D The summary of the video :D
Nice video my friend. Likeee
I am thumber in stabilized mode and pincher in acro😉
Always fly thumb for DJI Drones but cant for FPV, for FPV always pinching, more precise... while doing thumb I feel like the drone is totally uncontrollable
DJI Motion Controller looks more natural and could change everything. Hope they settle their patent suit and start selling it.
Can ı use djı's fpv Googles at my mavic Air 2,or mavic 2 zoom?
No you can't
Really ??? Please !!!
Thumbs all day 👍
Hi, I don't have this race track how to download it and where? Thanks
Hybrid ftw!
Nice!
Full size tango 2?
Good beard you got there
I allways used the dumb thumb😂👍
Nice
If you wear glasses. Will the goggles not be focused/clear since you can’t wear your glasses in the goggles
goggles (for the most part) have corrective lens inserts. some goggles have a focus adjustment as well.
You have to purchase diopter lenses separately
Joshua bardwell uses lens inserts. I think he made a video about them
what wach you are using?
Anybody know when the tango2 will be available again?
Should be in stock order from TBS website. Got mine last week!
I got too much PlayStation analog muscle memory built in to pinch.... Thumbs 4 life
Same tried to pinch and put it straight into the ground haha thumb for the win
pinch squad
Who else uses a pinch on the right and hybrid on the left stick?
Same honestly
assuming you have a flat stomach. LOL!
take off the screen protecter on tango 2
Have a great eternity.
Tango 2 pro
quero comprar um drone seu pilotado por vc
#Dronein@jeffbezoshouse

I shadow my face , yeah whatever hahahahaha epic ( steele brain voice )
"Lanyard... lanYard...LANYARD" not "lanyern"
