I like watching 4 the most because it’s the only Star Wars movie that is a full self contained story. It was written with the idea that there would be no future Star Wars movies, and because of that I think it’s the only Star Wars film that can stand on its own.
The argument about graphics being better in episode 3 is ridiculous. The fleet scenes in rotj and empire and the Death Star Two battle in rotj look far superior to the battle over Coruscant. Yes it's not as flashy but the models and matte paintings used are visually way better than the now somewhat dated cgi in episode 3. My personal top three films are (1) rotj, (2) rots, and (3) rogue one.
ESB - we actually learn about the force for the first time in depth - we establish some of the main themes of Star Wars that “size matters not” the small and meek can always stand up to oppression, “that is why you fail” belief in yourself is all you need to accomplish greatness, “the force is my ally” leaning into light and not power. - we get 3 absolutely ICONIC planets for the very first time: Hoth, Dagobah, Cloud City - New Iconic Star Wars; At-At, snow speeders, Wampa, TaunTaun, Boba Fett, we meet the Emperor, Lando - we see the real power of the Empire - Each character has development in their own stories rather than the whole movie being about Anakin - Diverts expectations; Han in carb, Luke loses a hand, Lando betrays them, father reveal. - Imperial March for the very first time!!! At this point it’s so hard to separate Clone Wars from ROTS but the fall of Anakin is so rushed in the movie itself IMO, the council acts so dumb and irrationally, and there’s really no character development for anyone other than Anakin. Plus you know how the movie is going to end the whole time.
No way they said that the Order 66 plot point was a better twist than Vader being Luke’s father. Yeah, we didn’t know about Order 66, but we knew the Jedi fell. Vader being Luke’s father was the biggest curveball in cinema history.
If you had watched them 1-3 then 4-6 order 66 is far bigger than Vader being Luke’s father in fact you’d already know that to begin with. With context of the actual order now 1-3 then 4-6 most of the surprises are no longer surprises at all and completely predictable
Both movies have aspects that are better than the other but overall I’d say are about even by themselves. The only reason why I put ROTS above ESB is because of how much ROTS carries the prequel trilogy and I personally enjoy it more.
1. A new hope 2. Revenge of the sith 3. Empire strikes back 4. Rogue one 5. Return of the Jedi 6. Phantom Menace 7. Attack of the Clones 8. Solo 9. The Clone Wars 10. The Force Awakens 11. The Last Jedi 12. The rise of skywalker
Imma be real I agree with both sides. Empire Strikes Back is my favorite movie of all time though. I grew up with the prequel movies. The Lego sets, getting them on DVD, the action figures. Don’t get me wrong I loved that movie as a child. You know what other movie I loved as a child? X men origins Wolverine. Arguably the worst movie in the x men movie franchise. Taking off my nostalgia goggles for a minute. Revenge of the sith has poor writing, poor acting, poor CGI. What does save the movie is the fight scenes which indeed are great. But when you compare the 2 movies together. Empire strikes back is the greatest Sci fi movie of all time, the greatest sequel of all time, with an amazing love story, amazing effects, amazing writing, acting, storyline. The Hoth battle, the Vader battle, Han Solo possibly dying, the plot twist, introducing Lando, need I say more? Yes I’m prepared to get crucified here but it’s my opinion.
9:51 lmao rob funny as hell, out of the 4 I’d definitely think “stone” is the stoner of the group.. no offense stone but you sound like your on cloud city from 9-5
its empire strikes back, period. only other reasonable option is a new hope. cant believe this dude said rotj is one of the three consensus picks, that shit is carried by the 3rd act so hard.
And episode 5 is carried only by the father reveal. Battle of Couresant is better then hoth, the second act of Anikan battling the dark side and killing Windu is more interesting then Han going to see Lando and everything in cloud city is weaker then order 66 and the battle on Mustafa.
@Rasklo93 Said no one ever, lol. The Battle of Coruscant only happens because Palpatine was captured offscreen by a villain who had yet to be introduced (no, I shouldn't have to watch a miniseries to learn how it happens). The rest of the battle is just ships aimlessly shooting at one another until one side dies. Even buzz droid make no sense. It's just a pointless backdrop just for action's sake. It doesn't hold a candle to the Battles of Yavin or Endor. More stuff and visuals aren't everything. Besides, the practical models of the OT held up a lot better than several of the CGI shots in ROTS, anyway 🤷♂️. After the battle, the cities of Coruscant look completely fine and they look like there wasn't just a huge battle above the planet 🤦♂️. Because Grievous came out of nowhere and was portrayed as a joke immediately, he isn't a threat and his entire subplot plus Kashyyyk is borderline filler just so the movie can have something for Obi-Wan to do 😂. Grievous doesn't even last 30 seconds against Obi-Wan before getting half his limbs chopped off and then running away again. Pathetic. Then, when the 2 have a fist fight, Obi-Wan decides that it's a good idea for his human flesh to kick metal. Order 66 is cool, but it's 100% carried by the music because Anakin's transition to the sith is so abrupt and unconvincing. It's also pretty obvious that from watching AOTC and the fact that the clones look very similar to imperial stormtroopers, that the clone army would turn on the jedi. Hell, we see Anakin marching up the steps with 501st clones before order 66 is even called, so the whole thing is spoiled for the audience, anyway 🤣. As said before Anakin's transition to full sith mentality is way too abrupt. He goes from very reluctantly pledging his allegiance to Palpatine in one scene, to IMMEDIATELY marching to attack the jedi temple and kill younglings with zero hesitation. It's just too rushed and unconvincing. Padme does absolutely nothing in the whole movie except cry and die, then the senate just accepts Palpatine's self-appointment to Emperor without bothering to make any debate because he gives very vague "evidence" that they tried to commit treason. Not even Padme bothers to do a damn thing despite knowing that this transition is wrong 🤦♂️. Obi-Wan doesn't bother trying to save Anakin from the dark side when he cronfronts him on Mustafar, nor does he intervene when Padme's getting choked. He literally just stands there. Also, the duel becomes a circus act when the pair start spinning their lightsabers without making contact (no, it's not a good excuse for a feint and it looks goofy, either way), start swinging like fucking TARZAN on very conveniently placed ropes on a collapsing bridge, and then riding on silly lava droids and the cliche "high ground" trope ending. On top of that, we have Padme's stupid death and "Noooo," making the legendary Darth Vader sound like a typical Saturday morning cartoon villain who just lost to the hero for the millionth time 🙄😔. Plus, nothing in the franchise will top "I am your father," or the throne room sequence/Vader's sacrifice in ROTJ. Also, the romance is still shit, a lot of the dialogue is still horrendous, and some of the acting is still very questionable. To say this movie has anything on TESB other than potential lore is just a fat lie. Saying that it's actually a quality film is either nostalgia talking or you base your opinion for how good a movie is on how much action is in it (even if it's stupid or unnecessary filler), which is childish. The entire original trilogy is held in the Library of Congress fro crying out loud and is held in high regard as one of cinema's best trilogies for a reason.
@@Rasklo93 Not even, the acting, the pacing, the themes, the characters, the locations, the final duel, all fantastic, all iconic. If you want to argue set pieces, then sure ROTJ would probably win, but this isn't an amusement park. This is meant to be a story. And by every single metric, Empire beats out ROTS.
It is so interesting to see some of Gen Z not only hold the prequels in such high regard, but prefer Sith to Empire? I respect it but I'll never understand it.
@LegoAnimalCrossing Still not part of the MOVIE trilogy. The films should stand on their own. Although, you do need to watch 2003 CW to understand how the start of ROTS came to be which is honestly a valid criticism against Episode 3 because it requires external media.
Hate me but Rogue One is the best. Best visuals. Excellent pacing. Great space battle. That movie is what you want to show to people that have never seen Star Wars.
The Revenge of the Sith movie isn't even the best Revenge of the Sith. It goes novelization, video game, then movie. Also, the best Star Wars is the original, A New Hope
Or maybe because it actually is the best movie and it's praised for good reason. It doesn't have any stupid characters, bad romances, or rushed plots. Plus cinema's most iconic plot twist helps a whole lot. The real critique is that anyone who chooses ROTS is simply a prequel fanboy who grew up on those movies and is basing their decision off childhood nostalgia because the prequelsare simply not good-quality films.

Yall should do a tier list of all the movies
They did
Revenge of the sith makes my heart feel. But the empire strikes back is just really cool
Love the addition of what side is which indicated by text. Keep up the great work! My girlfriend & I have been binging all of your videos!
Whoever edits these vids needs an award, love story guy xD
I love the longer episodes! Yall are great!
a new hope has a charm the rest don’t have
Not to mention, episode 5 NEEDED to be a banger since ep 4 was such a huge success. How else can you beat cinema?? With peak 🗣️🔥
Commenting for the interaction, good stuff as usual boys. My favorite is episode 2.
Empire stays on top 💪💪💪
Gotta be rogue one
also revenge of the sith is my favourite for nostalgia reasons, but the empire strikes back is the best
i cant get over how much i love these videos, i like to think the lego community now has a council.
This channel is amazingly entertaining

Anyone gonna consider A New Hope? It genuinely is a perfect movie. Doesn’t have to be your favorite but you can’t deny it’s a perfect movie
Attack of the clones is so slept on
ESB

Exactly I feel strong in the belief that ESB is the best film by itself but with the context of the Clone wars etc. ROTS is up there
Naw you don’t get it, revenge of the sith is better cause it had more lightsabers
1:21 I was about to never respect a single opinion rob has for the rest of time if he was being serious.
You guys should debate what the best and worst part of each movie is (ep1-6, and Rouge One)

I hope no one says Return of the Jedi 😂. I really thought you'd say that the 3 most commonly said were New Hope, Empire and Revenge
Best movie to me is Empire favorite movie is Rots. Love this type of discussion.
YALL SHOULD DEBATE IF HAN SHOT FIRST !!!!!!
Return of the Jedi is not better than A New Hope, what are y'all smoking?
50% of revenge is bad
Episode three has a poorly written love story
@@sidsigmaprime6347 exactly what I said

1. A new hope
2. Revenge of the sith
3. Empire strikes back

Return of The Jedi is the best Star Wars movie.

Revenge of the sith best of all time.

100% ESB
ROTS

revenge of the sith all the way

Rogue One sucks besides the Vader scene it doesn’t even hold a candle to Episode 6 what😂
