My problems with persona 3 reload: Makoto's awaking in original persona 3 delivered his emotions of despair and kept me at the edge of my seat I respect the try the voice actors tried but I didn't like it most of them weren't suited for their roles I didn't feel any emotions from them unlike the original cast especially Junpei and Akihiko no matter what Vic Mignogna and Liam O'Brien are iconic voice actors which can't be surpassed. #IStandWithVic And nice video.Great job.
I agree, I would be completely fine with this remake if they didn't change the voice actors, I deeply miss Karen's Aigis performance, I tried the dub and I just wasn't feeling it. Aigis sounds so much better and much more robotic and monotone in the original, Yukari and Akihiko I'm not fans of either. Most of the voice actors were already there but Atlus West decided to just change the direction even though the cast sounded perfectly fine in my opinion. Not to be rude to the new voice actors, I just feel like the new ones are a downgrade. It just feels like somethings missing or something just feels off, new players wont get to experience them either cause I doubt they'll play any other version after playing Reload and its kinda sad to see, I was genuinely more hyped when I saw the dancing trailers cause it had those familiar voices you were used too and that you've grown to love but now that's kinda just gone. Other then that I still really like Reload.
I fully expect them to release a second version, just like they did with 4 and 5. It feels like this is what to be expected from Persona by now, so I'm just going to wait for the (hopefully) then definitive version to release. And good job on bringing up the missing availability of older games/versions. It's a topic that's not discussed too often online and always very sad to see. I'm still mad that one of the best JRPGs, Xenoblade Chronicles X, is seemingly forever stuck on the Wii U. Just like other games in many genres will never get proper ports, like the old Resident Evil games. Luckily emulation circumvents that problem, but it would be nice to have official means to play all older games. It could make them much more popular than now.
For sure! Also, I guess emulation just isn't an option for everyone as there can be hurdles to entry :/ Its so weird because they would make more money and garner such good favor with players if they just made the games (or official emulation options) more readily available? Also, great point about Xenoblade X. Its a really good game stranded on unpopular hardware. I would have thought it was a no brainer to port it to Switch given the success of every other Xenoblade title on the platform? Maybe there's still time, but maybe not :(
Idk I can see both ways they could do this and that's either they do dlc for the missing content or they release a new version like golden and royal, I just feel that 5 different versions of persona 3 would be wild but not unlikely
no more versions....persona 6...this should be the only definitive version of this game, damn the rebranding...save that for persona 6 and its definitive version...just like when persona 4 gets its remake in the style of persona 6, it should only be 1 remake
My problem is it was called the definitive version.....but it doesn't have the female MC nor the Answer. Also 3 didn't need a remake but 1 and 2 need remakes to make them playable. Shoot I'd love the early SMT games to get remade to be less tedious.
3 has been asked to be remade for years. while it would’ve been nice for them to add the femc route, they’re doing a remake, not a definitive version so people discrediting the game for not including it makes no sense

Honestly I don’t think they’ll be another version of reload. Maybe they’ll release more dlc for it. But other than that I just don’t see it happening. Now persona 6, that’s a different story.
You might be right. Its hard to tell at this point but it certainly feels like DLC is the way they will go. I guess it might also depend on if it gets released on another format as there might be a new version that just includes the DLC for the original version? :/

No hate to the content, but ive seen this take more than a few times, and it just seems dramatic. As a die hard persona and SMT fan, I never enjoyed the answer (which was the main attraction for FES), and I really didnt enjoy P3 Portable, because it was just so stripped down. When I look at Reload it looks exactly what a remake of Persona 3 should be (in my opinion), none of the things its missing from the other editions amount to anything meaningful (In my opinion). We get the original story with adjustments to pace and extra details to flesh it out, we get the character with brand new VA's and extra social events. We get a complete visual overhaul, that looks amazing. And a suite of quality of life, combat, and dungeon improvements. I can't imagine playing this and thinking, boy, Id rather play the PSP version instead.
not enjoying an aspect doesn't mean its ok to remove it or sell a $70 title with less than the original version amount its just not good, being able to stand it doesn't mean its quality
We're not talking about the original version because reload is a remake of the original version. FES and P3P were other things. There's a handful of people on earth that managed to like "the answer" but all the sudden everyones crying about it not being included like a hive mind.@@marcusclark1339
Yea Persona fans always complaining so nothing new here, why would they release another version of Reload instead of remaking Persona 1 or 2? Persona 3 Reload is the definitive edition of the original just like Persona 5 Royal, if you want Femc so bad just play Portable.
As someone who is indifferent to Reload and Femc, saying Reload is the definitive version of OG Persona 3 is wild. It isn’t even released so we can’t even say it’s quality. But one thing I can say is that the Protagonists Awakening is awful in Reload. In OG, FES, and the Movie they are all great. But Reload’s Awakening for the Protagonist is just bad. Definitive editions are only clear when they are straight up upgrades from the originals. Like Golden and Royal. But since Reload is more akin to FF7 Remake. Where they are different gameplay wise, and there is story adjustments. These characters have the same names.
@@theomnigamer9177 Will it be definitive? no, but it'll be the highest priority for recommending which version to play. I'm seeing a lot of new fans excited to play this remake now and also seeing alot of people admitting they didn't want to touch fes and portables due to its outdated gameplay, so Imo yes, Reload will be the first one to recommend to new fans no questions asked and then to watch the answer cut scenes on youtube if they care that much. Also agree to disagree but I thought that awakening was amazing 🤔
@anon3600 Yeah that is most likely going to be the case. I think it might be a generational / outdated / first experience sort of thing. When so many quality of life changes have been made with Persona 4 Golden and onward, I can imagine it is hard for someone to recommend FES or Portable. As a late 90’s kid and didn’t touch Persona 3 until 2013, I didn’t have any problems with the gameplay. Even though I tasted the major conveniences and Quality of Life mechanics in SMT IV, I had no issue getting into Persona 3 shortly after beating SMT IV. In all honesty, my biggest concern is that I hope they don’t botch the impact of the ending. Also we can agree on that disagreement. The Awakening Scene in Reload is perfectly fine as it was a 2D to 3D translation with models. My main issue is that the movements of Thanatos looked stiff in Reload. I feel the camera could’ve been used better to hide the stiffness but they didn’t. This issue is really subjective but I prefer Thanatos’ roars in OG, it sounds more monstrous (even if it is a stock sound effect).
It's just business, they defo releasing a definitive version with all those content. And also Atlus want to remake the original version of the game. The femc isn't cannon and the answer although an important part of story, is not necessary. Letting the player figure out the aftermath is better in my opinion
honestly FemMC isn't that much if am issue for me because shes not nearly as well written as Makoto Yuki who is genuinely just peak, the real issue for me is the music and new fits, the music is just not good except for lotus juices singing part in its going down now, the second verse of mass destruction, unavoidable battle and lotus juices parts in full moon full life, and these fits are so ass, the only better then the OGs are shinji and junpies
What does having full party control even add to the game, especially when P3 wasn't even designed around it in the first place? The only thing you miss out on is casting Mediarama every turn, and spamming items, leaving your powerhouse of an MC free use Mind Charged Ragnarok every turn. The AI is already competent enough to handle everything else, especially when you utilize the tactics menu.
@@Sonic171K Generally speaking, the AI makes good moves, especially when you use the tactics menu to fit the situation, and fights tend to go by quicker than with direct control. The only drawbacks to the AI party members are as follows: 1) To save on HP/SP, they'll try to finish off enemies at critical HP with a normal attack, which doesn't always kill. 2) If you haven't scanned the enemies yet, they'll try broad tactics to try and sniff out weaknesses/resistances for you. This is where Mitsuru's reputation for Marin Karin came from, as that's her safest option if she doesn't know which attack is effective. On the flip side of this, in any version before Reload, scanning a boss wouldn't always reveal its weaknesses/resistances to you, but your AI party members would always get the hidden info from scans and act accordingly. 3) In order to save on SP, they will reserve multi-target healing spells for when you have multiple party members at critical HP. This often leads to them casting single-target heals while everyone's ~50% HP. 4) They prioritize healing on anyone with the lowest _number_ of HP. This makes Yukari (even more of) a terrible healer, as she's more likely to heal herself than anyone, due to having the lowest HP stat in the game. Junpei can be at 40% HP, about to put himself at 20% with his next attack, and Yukari will heal her own 60-70% ass instead, because she practically has the lowest number by default. 5) They don't have the pattern recognition of a human player, they can only go by their intended behaviors. They'll still try punching a new pallet swap of an enemy type with a history of physical resistance if you haven't scanned it yet, and they won't cast Mediarama every turn against a boss that spams strong multi-target attacks. On the flip side, they can predict when they've got a high crit roll, and will end up getting way more critical hits than the player, because they'll go for one when the player wouldn't think to. 6) Your AI party members don't have access to your stock of items, they have their own item pool determined by their current level, and each member is limited to 3 item uses per battle. This meant you couldn't use them to set up cheese strats with mirrors for you, or as an easy choice for when to use your best items, and it also made aiments a bit scarier, as while they do actually cure them with items, those won't last an entire boss geared around it. On the flip side of this, they get access to Beads long before they're in the common item pool for chests, and they can act as a safety net for healing/curing ailments, albeit in a limited capacity. 7) The final boss has a gimmick move where it puts up a shield that reflects all attacks, and most likely due to crunch, the devs overlooked programming the AI party members to react to this, despite them already having behavior for Tetrakarn/Makarakarn. This means you have to manually order your party members to stand by or heal/support, or they'll reflect their attacks back at themselves. Reload solved this the lazy way by getting rid of its shield spell and nerfing the whole boss in general. P3 fights used to have a meta where you had to look for opportunities to use your best attacks and think a little about your best move, because knock downs had purpose beyond All Out Attacks, as downed enemies/party members take extra damage, but get up instantly upon being hit, otherwise getting up consumes a turn, multi-target attacks didn't grant a 1 More, and your party would sometimes need you to handle support. This changed somewhat as you leveled up, because your party would get access to better support skills, and Mind Charged severe spells were easy to set up. P3P messed with that meta, because they back-ported most of P4's battle system, with multi-target attacks now granting 1 More each time it caused even a single knock down, getting up doesn't consume a turn anymore, downed enemies/party members won't get up when hit and can be made dizzy, they added guarding to mitigate how enemies can exploit weaknesses, they added a nerfed version of follow-up attacks, and direct control meant both your entire item pool and Media/rama/rahan every turn was always on the table (with the only caveat being that mirrors are now single-target, and fusion spells are now consumables which only the protag can use). Reload just says to hell with thinking at all, because in addition to backporting a chunk of P4's battle system, they brought over elements of P5 Royal's battle system, where everyone gets free supermoves, Baton Pass, multi-targets granting 1 More, boss movepools are now gutted, and the new items make ailments a joke. Knowing most players wouldn't even give AI party members a chance, they skimped out on the tactics menu options and made direct commands the default.

Agreed
ofc as die hard persona fanboy your opinion isn´t biased at all XD
This comment makes zero sense in the context of what we're all talking about. @@sakutaro3musik486
not enjoying an aspect doesn't mean its ok to remove it or sell a $70 title with less than the original version amount
its just not good, being able to stand it doesn't mean its quality
We're not talking about the original version because reload is a remake of the original version. FES and P3P were other things. There's a handful of people on earth that managed to like "the answer" but all the sudden everyones crying about it not being included like a hive mind.@@marcusclark1339
I can't believe anyone considered P3P to be a definitive version and not just a novelty.
It just looks bad visually
That's fair. I know a lot of people are mixed on The Answer.
honestly FemMC isn't that much if am issue for me because shes not nearly as well written as Makoto Yuki who is genuinely just peak, the real issue for me is the music and new fits, the music is just not good except for lotus juices singing part in its going down now, the second verse of mass destruction, unavoidable battle and lotus juices parts in full moon full life, and these fits are so ass, the only better then the OGs are shinji and junpies
im not buying an outdated console just to play fes where you cannot cobtrol the party. Thumbs down
FYI - If you play on emulation or use a cheat card on original hardware you can add full party control without any mods :)
@@petergriscom3431 Sure about that? I keep hearing the AI is pretty stupid and waste turns.
@@Sonic171K Generally speaking, the AI makes good moves, especially when you use the tactics menu to fit the situation, and fights tend to go by quicker than with direct control. The only drawbacks to the AI party members are as follows:
1) To save on HP/SP, they'll try to finish off enemies at critical HP with a normal attack, which doesn't always kill.
