In my opinion having a battery that could last you for 2 days is way more worth it than those features. Most of the features I don’t even use. Mind that you could turn on the features that you need and leave any you don’t need off :)

We agree, Amazfit modes offers a couple of days battery life. Actually we've reviewed a couple. (mashtips.com/tag/amazfit/) However, Apple Watch offers more features, accuracy and sync well with other Apple devices.

What mode do you recommend at night? My SE loses 20-25% during the night doing nothing. I don’t wear my watch while sleeping, so it’s just sitting, but I guess the drain is due to the sensors that are triggered every once in a while. I’ll be trying the power reserve mode tonight, let’s see how much does it drain, however power saving mode seems like a bit too much to save battery.
If you go through this video, make changes as discussed, remove all unneeded apps and if you are not tracking your sleep at night, power down your watch. Turn your watch back on in the morning when your ready to go. I’m a new, first time Apple Watch buyer/owner, have a Garmin Fenix 6Pro for anything major (hiking, camping, mt biking/road biking, etc.), but with my new App,e Watch Series 7, I’m on day three with 46% battery life, just by following these tips. At some point I will use it for sleep tracking and will see how many days I can eek out of the watch doing so. Again, shut it down at night if you’re not using it. Should definitely help with your battery issue. My 2cents. Cheers!
I understand your concern. The battery saving settings are completely optional. But this information comes in handy when you travel and want to save battery juice for a while. Depends on your need, you can opt-out some of these Apple Watch features to save battery life.

You're right, you have to compromise watch features to get more battery life, at least to know this, to use in case if you need it.

Smartwatches typically have 1-2 days battery life, with cool additional features.

Power saving mode is a kind of emergency solution. You will lose most of the Apple Watch features there.
