    Ok guys, so this is my review on the 5th gen Toyota 4Runner after 110,000 miles.
    This is a 2015 trail with premium package (which is now renamed with TRD offroad) and belongs to my brother, so it has been in the family for it's entire life and I got to drive it on many of our road trips and also some offroad trails so I figured why not create this video to help you guys out.
    Please subscribe for more content and have a nice day :)

I’d be surprised if we don’t see you hit a 5 or even 6 digit following by this time next year :) Glad to be here early! As for the 4Runner, I don’t blame him! Phenomenal vehicles. The price tag certainly reflects it too. It seems you know the 4Runners better than I do, what’s the best year and package for someone to pick up a 4Runner for the best value? It seems like you actually shy away from the TRD Pro which is interesting!

    • @mehryar.
      @mehryar.  2 года назад

      @@joshcaldwell4885 thanks a lot Josh. I appreciate your comment. I'll definitely keep pushing myself until I'm satisfied with the quality, which I never am 😂
      Regarding the 4runner, I was actually trying to buy one and build one but had a sudden change of mind and bought the gen 1 raptor.
      I think TRD pros are waaaay over rated. The only really nice about them is their special colors which inferno is my favorite. Other than that, you can put much better shocks, tires and mods which are superior to TRD with less money.
      I was also looking at used market prices and honestly any 4runner which was a good vehicle, was priced about 37k or higher which is a lot.
      Trd offroad with premium package is 43k brand new and had the new infotainment, etc. Also you pay less APR when buying.
      So I'd say buy new with current used market prices. It'll pay off wheneverv you sell the truck. They keep their value for decades.

    Nice nice! I have a 2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail that I bought, bran new, in June 2017. I'm about to hit 125K miles on the ODO. I've had only one issue to date: I had to replace my leaking water pump around the 118K mile mark. I was not happy given that this isn't a common issue with Toyota vehicles in general. That being said, I have no regrets owning the 4Runner.

    Great Video on the 2015 4Runner, it is beautiful to hear about the mileage & the way that it handles after the 110,000 miles. Bravo!!! I am hoping that we can get another video release on the next 200,000 & 300,000 miles of this vehicle. Toyota did not give is a powerful engine, but it is solid indeed. 2019 model has not changed much & yet we do not get a place for 2 cell phones. Some nice interior mods would include the pedal commander, OEM Audio & Mollie Panels both center console & the rear shelf. If you were to go up to 35's, regearing is a must, this will allow the 4Runner Engine to run like butter and will save the MPG. That is just the beginning, there is much more work needed to fit the 35's but it is doable. Thank you kindly for this post.

      You are right on your statements. I bought another FJ last year and have put 34s under it with a 3 inch lift and front bumper. Runs really well and I don't feel loss of power without doing a regear but the 4runner will definitely need a regear due to it's heavier weight.
      The 4.0 is really bulletproof. I definitely prefer it to the new 4 cylinder turbocharged ones even though they have less power.

    Well done video! and look forward to more. I am planning on getting 2022 TRD OF, wanted the KDSS but so hard to come by unless I ordered it. Any information regarding upgrading the shocks and which ones, provide similar benefits of reducing body roll and nose dive, Most of my driving is on road with occasional weekend mild off-roading so definitely what better on-road handling. any suggestion would be appreciated. Otherwise, I may have to order it with KDSS and end up paying MSRP.

      @mehryar.  2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. The KDSS makes a huge difference on road for sure. My friend has a TRD pro and his truck leans like crazy on turns.
      I personally think the stock tires are too small for the truck visually speaking and the truck needs a lift to look nice. But this is just my personal taste.
      If I wanted to buy one, I would go for non KDSS and get king 2.5 shocks which are adjustable and you can make it firm to reduce body roll and increase handling.
      A cheaper option that I recommend is fox 2.0 shocks which are much more affordable.
      Good luck on your purchase. You'll love it no matter which one you get.

    Couple of small things. You can easily get high 15 to mid 16 MPG when you're modified. I'm lifted 3 in and I run a full size 285 e load, with a negative offset, roof rack with rifle case and ladder easily get me 16 around town if I drive relatively normal. I also have the TRD exhaust and a pedal Commander that I keep set in the city modes.
    Do not waste your money on an air intake, especially if you're going to be driving in the dirt a lot. It's an expensive noise maker and that money should be spent on more important components like ABS guards, shock guards, bump stops.
    And the supercharger is not that huge of an impact, you should still be right in line with the factory average. The reason so many lose gas mileage is because they get wrapped up in the fun, totally understandable.

    • @mehryar.
      @mehryar.  2 года назад +1

      It's awesome that you can get 16 MPG with all the mods. Maybe I have a heavy foot.
      I usually cruise at 80MPH on the highway so maybe that has something to do with it as well.
      My FJ was also this bad with gas but I loved it so much.
      I actually just bought a TRD CAI for my brother's birthday. Funny you advice against it. Too late now. :)
      The noise is a personal taste to be honest and I loved it on the FJ, specially when hearing it from the snorkel.
      I heard it can also help ~1MPG while cruising. A high flow exhaust and snorkel also help with MPG a bit while cruising.
      If you press that gas pedal, they will affect the MPG the other way around.
      At least that was my experience with the FJ.
      By the way I enjoyed reading your comment. Have an awesome day.

    • @mehryar.
      @mehryar.  Год назад +1

      Thank you for the kind words Alireza.
      Definitely check underneath the truck and see if you find any rust and from the front skid plate, you can see if the truck has been abused or not.
      When you turn the truck on, wait a minute and make sure the RPM doesn't fluctuate too much.
      For 4x4 just push the truck into 4x4 while driving and back to two wheel drive. It should change the state within 1-5 seconds depending on gear and speed. But you should be able to push it to 4x4 at speeds up to 70mph if I'm not mistaken.
      Test out 4x4 low as well and make sure the transfer case works. You should put the truck on neutral while stopped and go to 4x4 low.
      Definitely go for a model with rear lockers if you ever go off-road.
      One last thing, the newer ones with the updated stereo are better if you can find one at a good deal. (Forgot what the year was) the reason is you can't update the stereo to the new ones with the older models because of their wiring.
      I hope this helps. Good luck brother 👍
