@@nicoleantoine7568 I can't even watch past the first two minutes. The language they're using is so disturbing.
There's no question he's a pedo. The age of consent may be 16 in the UK but not w/a teacher or any adult, serving in such a capacity. This is a British series! So, why are they leaving this out of the equation?
Secondly, we have to stop using the language of these predators. They stated in this show they were having a relationship. They were not having an intimate relationship anymore than you can say any adult who preys upon any child is having an intimate relationship w/them.
If he was preying upon a toddler, would they say they were having an intimate relationship? Of course not, so at what age have they decided a minor is having an intimate relationship w/an adult?
This isn't the first show that's used this language. I've seen it on numerous US productions, as well.

@@lukebignell7846 high level sports coaches for young people seem to have a particular swaying power and huge access to the young people, the teenagers . A swim coach in Ireland sexually abused a number of high performing teenage female swimmers and got away with it for years. It only came to light when a guy who was also a talented swimmer as a youth and noticed how many of the girls did not do well in adult life, he trained as a doctor and then went back asking questions and many told him. It was all in the newspapers. Later on the coach went to Scotland to work and the business woman in charge of employing him was able to discount all these ”stories”.
Having said that there is a piece that one would wonder about a parent being a chaperone, even if they had to fund raise. In the movie industry there are strict rules for underage actors- I imagine that did not come about without horrible mistakes in the past.

The problem with going by age alone is that it can't take into account when there is a huge power imbalance. There's a big difference between if 2 16 year olds have sex but really different if there's a much older person who obviously groomed them and used their position of power (teacher/coach, etc) That's a predator. I believe we're just in denial of how often this happens, so we still keep these antiquated laws that aren't really adequate to protect the victims.

What do you do?!? You don't bite your tongue!! You do what any good parent would do and then deal with the consequences. That is what parents do. Biting your tongue didn't help, did it? He didn't care enough and made no effort when he should have done so, then whinged, complained and bitched about the police when he expected them to do something about her, but felt that they didn't perform to his expectations. I have lived among people who are like Harry. 😡😡😡

After reading all these comments i cant belive how horrible people are towards this beautiful sound father, dont forget this was filmed after the events, here in the uk the age of consent is 16 and he was right, he told her she would have to pay for her trip obviously not knowing that Gary would pay for her, it was his way of trying to stop her going without forcing her into garys arms, also, he has not only lost his wife and daughter but his grandchildren as well.
    RIP Sharon
My hearts braks for Harry and Aunt Janet, who obviously loved Sharon dearly 💙

Very sad story. Can't help but feel that her father should have stopped relationship at the start. He seems to be a very placid man maybe he felt intimidated due to him being a karate instructor nevertheless the father should have taken action at the start. She was only 16yrs you don't sit back and hope for the best

Have you ever meet a strong minded teenage girl who thinks she’s in love. It’s like holding on to a wild cat. One of my girls wanted to marry the worst boy in town he was trouble with a a chip on his shoulder a mile high. Her dad and I tried talking to her for hours, ground her to the point of walking her to and from school. Her friends and brothers and sisters tried to tell her but to no avail. She was determined to marry him. She did in the end and of course it was a disaster. he was violent kept her short of money, seeing other women, you name it he did it. Eventually she came home with 3 children in tow We were all so shocked to see how thin and bruised she was. Her dad went straight to the house and gave him a few bruises of his own. She was terrified to go out the door with out one of us with her. Eventually he got another poor girl pregnant and he stopped bothering her. She married a wonderful man 6 years later and found happiness. But she turned into the wildest child you could imagine over him. Teenage girls are a force to be recond with if the fall in love with the wrong guy. So I can well imagine just how difficult it was for her parents.

She was 15! Parents didn’t say no because apparently they were attempting to predict the future rather than deal with the present. A minor travelling out of country alone with a much older man is a no. I’m sorry it turned out so terrible.

This is so sad. I can really feel the dad's pain. I wonder if keeping and using the items Sharon had purchased would give a sense of her being around. And her boys would like to have them one day. The items were purchased with hope in mind. Hope for a fresh start with her beautiful boys.
