    Eagerly awaiting this review. I had the same thoughts, snapped it at 7.5 hours but noticed the string was dropping off at that point. Enjoyed it the whole time throughout otherwise

    Would this type of poly be good in an 18 x 20 Prestige 95' ? I thought you were using Presitges still, no? I found a 2018, it's on the way and will be here shortly. I tried my partners old iiPrestige and saw you recommending it in many videos. Think I am done with Babolats, want to get back to the old school feel (and lighter head). Thanks for the tips!

    So this dies as fast as ALU Power? You kind of said that and then you said 8-10 hours. If I got 8-10 hours out of ALU Power it would be all I use. ALU is like a 3 hour string IME.

      I agree. After 3 hours alupower loses all his magic. After 6 hours it’s a trampoline shit

    Just tried this one for the first time today; doing a string comparison for TW between Head Hawk Touch and Head Hawk Power; strung up Head Hawk Power in my old Dunlop 300g and Touch in my Dunlop CX 200 (last year's model). All I can say about Head Hawk Power is that it really brings life to the Dunlop 300g unlike any other string I've tested or tried in the past two years. I really think this may be the ONE for this frame. What I really like is the combination of control which is exceptionally great and power. The ball pocketing and dwell time are very good and I'm seeing marked precision on slice and kick serves. I found your review here after trying this string out today for the first time; I was hoping to find a list of pro players that may be using it as of 2024. Still looking for that. I will probably try watching your interview with Dennis Fabian or the one that Michelle from TW did with him this past year. I know this string is sort of a one-off for Head in that it is produced here in the U.S. I think it's somewhere around Nashville, TN. But not certain on that. Anyhow, thanks Jonas for the excellent review. Keep up the great work because you're a stellar contributor in everyway to the world-wide tennis community. Kudos.

    Didn't like it as well as Hawk 17G in the X's (w/Triax 17G in M's) in my hybrid setup in the Head PT2. It's softer than Hawk so does not provide as much control or spin mo. Strung it the same (as Hawk) @ 52 lbs. in the X's so might get more control if bump the tension a bit but I generally prefer to keep Poly's @ 52 lbs. or below. Not really a fan of the color too as prefer Black or Red instead. Have not yet tried it in a full bed (as prefer a hybrid setup). Thx for the post.

    Always good to read through the comments to get a feel for the string. I recently switched to Hyper-G from ALU Power which I've used since around 2006 and I love Hyper-G. Much better comfort and great spin. Just no feel at all but I'll sacrifice feel for comfort, retention and spin. I'm pretty much sold on shaped strings now.

      @@gaga-jo7dy Just off the court and loving the Hyper-G and it's really cheap at my stringer. I'm going to stick with Hyper-G for 2023 and just enjoy the string before looking for something better. You can do the hunt forever or just find something better and stick with it. I hate changing anything in my setup. This is the first change in my equipment since 2011.

  • @hybrid11theory75

    A great string for like 3-5 hours. After that the magic is gone. If you buy a reel and can afford to re-string very often, it might be worth it. For anyone else who plays 10+ hours with a poly forget it... it's almost like alu power, drops tension and playability way too quick!! Elasticity is gone after around 3 hours and feel gets worse from there..

    Been enjoying this string in my SX 300 Tour V2 at 48-50 lbs. It pockets a lot more than Hyper-G 17 and felt more comfortable than Poly Tour Pro Yellow 17. When hit just right, makes a cool sound. Downsides are that I have to consciously carry the ball longer on these strings (whereas I can just whack it using Hyper-G or PTP) and that the spin goes away much sooner before there’s deep notching or strings stuck out of place, making it a bit more ambiguous to decide when i should restring and whether a bad day is from my poor technique or just string degradation.

    • @glademaster
      @glademaster Год назад

      After playing a couple more matches with this string, I’m realizing that it’s not necessarily that the spin goes away quickly, but it’s that I need to adjust my stroke to be shorter and whippier (more relaxed wrist and windshield wiper motion) as the tension drops to account for the increased power. Once I adjusted my stroke (inspired by Kyrgios/Kokkinakis/Berrettini), I got deep arching shots again.
