I got an 11 Busa about a month ago and it was time to change oil after the break-in period. I have changed oil on the 750GSXR that I had many times and the fairings were real easy. With this Busa I had everything loose but couldn’t figure out how to release the fairing from the top below the turn signal. Watch the video and all I had to do is wiggle and pull down. Man... this video was a big help. I figured that since the Busa's haven't changed much it should be the same. Thanks a lot.
Regarding my earlier comment below, I went to the garage and checked, the upper inner fairing rivets were in place on both sides. Far as I know, it's not really necessary to remove those to take off fairings. I remove the outside fairings and just leave the inner fairings (wheel well) hanging there. When I install the outer fairings, I just squeeze the adjoining edges of the inner and outer together and they snap together. Maybe I do remeber how to remove fairings after all. Thanks for all your work on the org, Blanca. You gotta get you another busa my friend! -Mythos
Wow, you've convinced me that it will probably be better to take my Busa to the local Suzuki service agent, to get the cooling fluid flushed, and replaced, than to risk busting the fairings, getting to the reservoir cap (on the rhs), and the hose on the left. Thanks for a great video - nice filming, Kathy.
Thanks again Blanca. I used your Gen2 fairing tutorial back in 2011. By this time, I have the process down. Problem is when I put the fairing back on, I always forget those little inner, upper cowling rivets. Damn, have to go back out and tear that thing off again. This has happened so many times, I should know enough to look at your tutorial before I start on the fairings.😄 -Mythos
I made that video years ago. My 10yr old daughter filmed it. That was the first take and done just on a whim because so many were complaining how hard it was on a forum I'm on. I did it to show you can get them off in less than ten minutes a side not the thirty or more everyone was saying it took. But Derek please feel free to stop complaining and make your own video showing us how to do it better. I look forward to seeing yours. And I hope you make sure the lighting is correct, the focus is correct and make sure to use a better microphone too.
I don't think it could be done any better. Like I said before, so much better than anything I've seen online about this subject, you are the best and very much appreciated!
Dude...! Thank You So much for this. I went step by step. Pausing the vid. as I went along. You did a fantastic job. My only problem was, there is a frame push pin on the top almost even with the handlebar, when straight. That hung me up till realized it was there. Also, I raised my rank. That also helped with that top push pin. Than’X Again. Best Ben.
Hello Sir, great video! By far the best and most complete how to video on Hayabusa fairing removal. I have a problem tho. My bike has been torn down for about five months waiting for custom paint job and a bunch of performance mods. I'm ready to assemble now and wondering if you have an assembly video, step by step to assemble the complete fairing, one side at a time and in the correct order. I'd be more than willing to pay for it because it would be a bad thing if I damage the paint job putting it back together not knowing what I'm doing. I know it's been a long time since you made this but I subscribed to your channel in hopes that I will be able to find the other parts to this awesome video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge for all of us out here that want to do our own work but don't know where to begin. You are an amazing Busa soldier for the incredible generosity of sharing your wisdom! Thanks again!
I did it with my 01 Busa, with nothing to go on...just took a whack at it. I fricked-up a few plastic rivets, but other than that, did okay...no problems. The 09..a different story....after about 15 minutes, and little progress...I put it back together. I think this video will help...thanks!
This is a video of how to remove the right side fairing or cowling as some call it. I am not a pro nor a mechanic. This is my effort to make it easy on ones who have not done it or are not comfortable doing it. It is in no way the only way but if followed it is an easy way to remove side panel.
really can't see what you're doing... focus is bad, descriptions are bad and the backlight is harsh and makes it difficult to make out what you're talking about.
Dude...... it really sux to see someone complaining about something that a very generous person did out of the kindness of his heart. I thought it was incredible, very helpful, and actually very well explained! I sure as heck wouldn't bitch about something that myself and most others have found super helpful. Also, I live by the old saying....."if you got nothing good to say, don't say it at all" Just saying.
@@kellymackie3982 I think it was a straight forward comment. Not derogatory at all. It was an opinion on how I couldn't quite see what he intended. I'm sorry that you only want to see nice comments and not have opinions that don't reflect your own world view. I guess we're different people
After all these years I'm glad it's still helping folks Dave. Enjoy your bike.

Thanks for the tutorial bro. Took me 2 hours, and no issues. You saved me. And tell your camera person thanks too, nice work.

BlancaBusa I watched this back in 2012 to help me remove my fairings to change my oil. You helped me tremendously. Thanks from 6 years ago. 👍🏽

These farings are no joke . Thanks for the video
Amazing how technology evolved through 2021 now. This 11 years old vid quality is like an old VHS tape compared to blue ray player.
And at the time it was the latest and greatest Sony Handi-Cam made. Wish I still had the bike to redo it with an iPhone now. It would look great.
