This video is about the most powerful exploration technique I've ever discovered to explore classic azeroth using the wrath client. There is almost nowhere you cannot reach using this trick as you can no-clip through invisible walls and impassable objects.

A fond memory is when I was new to the game back in 2007 and managed to get to the IF airport by learning to wall jump near lock mordan tunnel.

Just aditional info....You can just walk up to Elwynn waterfalls from Burning steppes. Also, my exploration hack is, if you kill yourself by fall damage and use parachute exactly in moment when you die, you should be stucked in levitation untill you log off.
Cool. I wonder if there is an application for that? Very fun if there isn't. I suspect this is true of other weird animation states.

You can get to the first place by foot through the burning steppes. I did it by accident in 2019/2020. It's from one of the southern alcove areas with a random cave, found an area you can walk/jump up and ended up able to go over to the area. Even fished the pool, it always drops peacebloom when you do so.
Ty I must have missed that one somehow. Why does it drop a herb? Uh? (I never did much fishing excuse my ignorance)
@@archvaldor No idea on why it drops it, think it was never meant to be fished and was a placeholder pool for looks
@@Kreshrin I found it as well way back in vanilla, I'm not sure if the spots are the same, it was pretty easy getting up. What's really interesting to me is that back in vanilla, the pool still dropped peacebloom, but it would never run out and the pool never disappeared, infinite peaceblooms. I retried it in classic a few times but the pool would go away so somehow it must've been changed for whatever reason.

@@NescoGaming odd, when I did it in classic the pool never went away, that or it respawned super fast, been a moment when I did it.
I remember playing Wotlk in vanilla, and there was a way to teleport across continents using boats, where a death knight pulled you onto a boat and you logged out or something and your character would fly to the 0,0 coordinate boat which is under the ground in the middle of Azeroth somewhere. Then there was a glitch where you could fly with your flying mount in Azeroth if you went under stormwind and went north between Elwynn and Dun Morogh where it said ***On-Map Dungeon*** as you entered the area. You could mount a flying mount there somehow, don't remember exactly how. Maybe it was a warlock summoning someone on a flying mount. Then I think you had to do some switching on+off your internet at certain intervals and you could fly anywhere you wanted, like the very high up areas of Ironforge, the little holes the Gryphons fly to, or on top of buildings.

I remember getting up those mountains by the careful jumping and sticking to terrain method. You can get underneath Stormwind by jumping into a wall that has a torch on it as well.

To get under sw just jump off the box onto the lantern then onto the wall which you just fall through. The boxes are in the trade quarter by the Nunney towards the mage quarter.
Regarding the Silithus cave iirc, if you manage to die in it, (pretty simple as a warlock), you will be sent to Silithus graveyard as death skips are zone based, while logout skips are proximity based 👍
Oh jesus you are kidding me. That would have made for a much better video. I just assumed the death skip would be the same. Thanks for the superior information mate. Gonna try that now.

If you die in that Silithus Cave, your ghost spawns in Silithus and you can spirit res there. Quickest way to Silithus.
That ethical barriers comment got me
The gryphon flying through walls happened to me, I was a clueless kid back then. Also I went on the deep run tram, I jumped off it while it passed the glass aquarium and I pressed alt tab to switch applications, when I got back on I was inside the aquarium with the threshadon this was during vanilla
When people ask me if these things are bannable I tell them that as long as what I’m doing doesn’t give me some type of advantage of something, why would blizzard care if I’m appreciating their behind the scenes work
Flying method you can do also with switch Wi-Fi routers on macbook/notebook. While you fly and want to fall to certain area, you change router and then you fall.
7-10 years ago I would do this but I would just leave battle ground and it would work for me. Sometimes I would get accidentally DC'd and log back into game and my character would be falling down and I'd get to all sort of strange places.
That's a slightly different glitch to do with disconnects. Kenneth from Ownedcore (a genius whose articles are well worth reading) explained to me that you simply dc on a flightpath and close the client. Very powerful technique similar to this one but frustratingly temperamental and awkward to reproduce. Happened to a lot of people struggling to run the game.
@@archvaldor I personally found that the disconnect trick seems to work best if you disconnect before a zone boundary + allowing for some disconnected travel time, used to play with it a fair bit on classic. I think it forgets your flight if you transition map while disconnected. i.e. disconnecting above northshire abbey generally worked well for that spot
Wasn't there a hill that you can mount ride up the side to get to the Iron Forge Airport? I distinctly remember doing this during WRATH.🤔
Yeah I made a vid about that quite recently. This way is a lot less hassle than trying to get up that crack though if you are just doing it for exploration purposes.
I seemed to have tuned out for 7 min and 21 seconds. I guess I'll go back and rewatch just to be sure

Used to be that when you were under stormwind, if you jumped into that square hole in the terrain in the right spot, it would put you in the top of the mage tower in the park. Me and my glitching buddies found a whole lot of cool stuff like that pre-cataclysm.
Still is that in classic, kind of cool getting to the top there:)

I got to most of these places back in 2005-6 via the old mountain climbing bug. Top of TB crater rim, under dire maul, to IF airport/top of gates/etc. Still have the 4:3 ratio screenshots somewhere in my archive.
not really an exploit but i remember getting from Dun Morogh to searing George through rock climbing

I had a shaky internet connection and my wifi would switch between router and phone which would cause a disconnect, upon reconnecting on the different device I found myself falling from a flightpath right onto the farm above Menethil Harbor (In Classic).
This happened a couple of times, each time reconnecting on the different device would cause a fall from the flightpath if I was on one.
I'm not an explorer but find these vids interesting from time to time so I've not experimented with improving accuracy for FP falls but it seems to be a reliable method to cause a fall.
Can also just use this to skip doing the whole fight and be dropped way closer to where you actually want to be instead of where the closest FP would be. I just used your metod to fly from TB to Ghost Walker Post, but the only FP in Decolace is Shadowprey Village.
Yeah totally you can do that Edy. I was actually thinking of Desolace when I read your message before you mentioned it - that FP is SO long.
I remember in einer Vanilla or TBC wegen i disconnected on a zeppelin to STV I logged back in and found myself southern of silithus where a cave is. Really wierd and a time where the game was full of mysterys where we will never know what they were supposed to be
On very rare instances in vanilla and tbc, I’ve seen ppl controlling the flight master gryphons as they pleased. Always assumed it was just a dc bug. Now I’m curious on whether it was a variation of this. Well the caveat was I always seen them on the ground, though frankly I never had much need to look up in wow outside of admiring the visuals so who knows haha.
There was an exploit people called "control flight path" which was popular in cataclysm which did exactly what you describe. I never heard of it working in classic though-the original method doesn't work in classic.
You can get to all these places without the use of this flying exploit....... BUUUUUUUUUT that doesn't make it inherently useless. It'd take some clever digging to try and find a genuinely normally inaccessible area.
This could be used to access Old Ironforge, perhaps, with clever timing? Mountains above Mulgore / Barrens?
Yeah In theory you could get anywhere. You'd need to work out the triangulation of flight points though which would be some task for many locations.
i assume you mean meshes as solid objects and meshes can always be penetrable - i know i did maps in a old gameengine (ut99) and played ut2004 which were know for meshes that are not solids since they arent -bsp are calculated by cpu and semisolids by gpu -shure you can fall through if the map is badly rebuilt
I remember a horde undead warrior showed me on my alliance toon a clip in the wall of stormwind in the trade district left side of the auction house. You hop up on some crates them jump on a hanging torch then walk the wall toward the church district a few feet. You then walk right through the wall and fall under the map of storm wind it was neet. It's probably a common, well-known one though.
Yeah that one's pretty well known -- it is one of the easiest introduction to exploration I can think of.
Airport is pretty easy to get to, yet the no-clip flight is something else really

This reminds me of the MoP kite glitch
Around that time using pet battle+2 seater mounts I gave access to the MoP portal to a lvl 1 tool (at the time you need to be attuned or something)

Good video. Personally I prefer to just ".gm fly on" and then "fly/swim" up to the cave.

Idk if this is the exact same glitch or a similar one, but I remember once logging into a character I hadn't logged into for a long time back in like Cata, and he was at his hearthstone location and instantly got on a flight path gryphon and flew north through every mountain and building. It is entirely possible he was on a FP and I went into a BG and logged out because I had to get off or something. Thanks for sharing can't wait to do this in classic haha
Ive encountered this exploit both official and unofficial servers retail and classic alike. I really dont know what caused it to happen but if i had to guess it has something to do with being mid flight and using alt f4. Unless im in an inn proper i almost always just alt f4 for quick convenience done and done. Perhaps the game thinks im out of bounds? Really unsure. My flight path would go exactly the way yours is though. Clipping steaight into terrain. Cant guess effectively how i did it BUT im almost positive that what it was doing was giving me the straight way path which would involve flying through mountains. Would be fixed only after i made it to my stop, or one along the way. I swear i recall flying backwards once. Has maybe happened like three or four times, but was very memorable.
Theres an easy way of reaching that spot between elwynn and the burning steppes which is accessible via the latter, first discovered it around 2008. Nothing special required. Would be happy to make a vid demonstrating it.

The Silithus cave in Dun Morogh…isn’t the only one that changes your zone. There’s one that actually makes the game think you’re in a battleground!
(And yes, you can place down BG-only feasts and items.) I wonder how the logout teleport would work there?
I think most of those locations now only exist in retail, not any version of classic, so you'd have to use a different glitch. Please correct me if I'm wrong (privately if you prefer). I've love to find a secret cave with a huge teleport those are so cool-I take it you saw the video about the Onyxia's lair cross-continent port?

Thank me for ending your nightmare. I made so many exploit videos about Strand I think that may have been the reason they gave up on it in retail. It was the most broken instance in wow by some distance.

My friends and I used to go to the cave all the time. The trick for us was having a means of slow fall and jumping from nearby.
The only way I've seen it done was with rocket boots+ chute. Couldn't find a way to do it with just slowfall. Be curious to know how you managed it if you can remember.
That griffon thing happened to me by accident on one of the first test servers back in original vanilla. After it pathed back to the flight path it gave me back control of the character but it did not remove the speed increase from the flight path , it was cray !
Use noggen foggen potion from tanaris drink near grave yard out side of ironforge and aim for the tree once you get slow fall mount and jump towards the tree will get you to if airport.
Yeah its easy with slowfall and mount.
Games used to fix these sort of things. Blizzard? They can't even fix themselves.
I usually tease Blizzard about these things but to be fair fixing wow and its multiple expansions is a headache like no other in gaming.
I liked the tidbit about the tents, but I thought hardcore Players were in it for the leveling so why would they skip unless it's a dangerous zone?
I wish they would bring back those PvP servers those were the real hardcore realms; the tents and trees in those were boss against a hunter.
Not for skipping but evading if too many mobs spawn on you or you screw up somehow. Agree about the pvp servers that was brutal.

This happened to me when I was on a FP in WoD, it teleported to me to mid icecrown on the FP towards the argent tornament grounds

You can get to the first area quite easily from the mountains east of stone cairn lake. Could also get there from sw flight master mountain, but ive not been able to after the tbc wall jumping fix :(

Like when you join a BG and you are horde and get placed on the ally side, but while outside the BG, even for a second?
That place was easy to get to the only place you couldn’t get to in vanilla-wrath was the house on top of the falls.
I was thinking more of completely inaccessible areas through solid terrain.

love the glitches, in this game and others. i have fond memories from original wotlk getting the "the Explorer" title on my level 60 character, requiring exploring all of Northrend without a flying mount (and every mob being ??). -Merkinjerk, Seeker of Knowledge.

wow classic. wotlk specifically, this doesn't work in vanilla.

For pure exploration i'd recommend the exploration discord-those guys know everything about that subject.

You have to try quite hard to do anything literally illegal in a video game. If you mean "can I get banned for doing this" which is a different question, then no it is not something Blizzard would ban you for. They don't care.

Getting to the first location by foot without a mout or anything is possible from burning steppes. As well as getting to the cave from loch modan.

Old azeroth doesn't exist in retail and hasn't for a decade. You could never fly in old azeroth.
