- Here is an updated version of my multi-monitor DIY wooden sim rig.
This is an updated v2 version of the rig I built around 18 months ago to originally suit my 24" monitors. When I upgraded to 27" curved screens I needed to make some changes and this rig now incorporates these and some other improvements. The original videos have been viewed over 15,000 times so I hope this updated version gives some inspiration to people.
Using a combination of the wood and a few #Trakracer products (not essential) makes a very sturdy rig that has no issues with my 8nm Fanatec CSL DD wheel and I think would be OK with wheelbases up to around 12nm.

Thank you for the thorough guide. I had already built my base, but used some old castor wheels under the base. I really like your frame for monitors/direct drive and PC so will try this idea to make freestanding monitor/PC frame thank you, new sub :)
I've had the wood to build mine since last fall and just haven't had the time (or nice enough weather on my day off) to get everything cut & built, same basic design in my head as yours but I plan on doing the monitor mount like the channel CKW did in a video 6 years ago "Triple Monitor Mount For Sim Rig".
I'm planning on adding a sliding keyboard/mouse tray under the wheel like a traditional pc desk has.

No pre-drilling needed. Use good quality screws and you will have no issues.
For the pedals, do you need the pedal plate? or could you just use some screws and put it straight into the wood? I ordered the pedals already, just wondering if you could do that
@@garb.5220 you might be able to if you put the wood (or more pieces) in the correct place. But a plate is a bit easier/neater especially if you want to angle the pedals a little. For me they are flat so it’s ok.
The good thing about wood - it’s very adaptable!
Hello, it's me again. I have already mentioned before that I made the same cockpit that you have with your plans, but I have only one problem and that is how to adjust the seat (in my case Ford Focus seat) to the wood. The rails are quite short and I don't know how to remove them to screw them to the wood, so I only screwed the back part and when braking too hard sometimes the seat rises. I don't know if I could leave you my email and you can send me some ideas or photos. Thank you very much for your help, your material is invaluable.
